@bombsaxx Yes, but that's because at least half of them didn't know how to shoot properly to begin with. The way most of them were shooting works just fine for .22lr, but not for the ~220lbs of recoil from the high-power loadings of the .577.
akimbo ? why did u type a Japanese word and the rest english ? weird just say dual fire or fire two at once keep it all english or all japanese looks stupid mixed
@bigbutlittlebrother if your sport is elephant or any big big game. this is a 750 grain(weight of 19 pennies) bullet. The average recoil is 220lbs. Believe it or not A-square the company that builds them had(don't build anymore) a bigger one a .700 nitro express which had a 1000 grain bullet but was slower out of the barrel then t-rex. To give you an idea a 30.06 has about 18 lbs of recoil. Ammo is $15.00 each. No real use for the avg joe except just to brag and 4k is a little much for that.
@bigbutlittlebrother Yes. It is a sporting rifle, but belongs to a sub-category called 'stopping rifle'.. The rifle is designed for professional guides to use when themselves and their clients are being charged by dangerous game.
@7zobzombie Really? That is pretty nice considering a lot of the big bores can start at around 10K. I'ld imagine the ammo for these things is still huge.
Whats is the biggest nitro express round? I kno theres the .700 but is there any thing bigger or more powerful? Or a bullet which is just as powerful if not more powerful (or bigger) using a different type of propellant.
A whopping 10200 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle this .557 Tyrannosaur round offers in a relativity small package. Very intriguing rifle, but I would have absolutely no logical reason to buy one because I don't have the funds or experience to hunt Cape Buffalo or for that matter anything ranging in the hyper, large game category. I'll stick to the tiny-weeny 5.56mm and 9mm for my needs.
You should include yourself with your name. Bad design? Idiot, the gun does what it's designed for. That's to kill anything that walks this planet. Just because YOU have no need for it doesn't make it a bad design. It's not made to take to the range to shoot 1k rounds off for fun.
ok i found out what the is for in the near future a bear will have sex with an elephant making a new kind of t-rex they will all be killed and come back as zombies and thats where this comes in at
whats the use for a gun that pretty much makes the shooter fall to the ground after 1 shot? how many users can handle that recoil? just seems like they limited the amount of buyers by bad design
come on, when would you need to use one of those! I bet if you put ten guys in front of each other, that gun would blow a hole through the lot of them! nice post
@deanliverpool666 Gawd. All the Call Of Duty freaks out here. 'Dual wield' is the right term.
'Akimbo' wasn't known as 'Dual wield' untill Call Of Duty was released. Just because I feel sorry for all Cod no-lifers out there, Ima let you in on a secret; This is real life. Not a videogame.
I was talking about american hunting rifles's custom cz-550s that come in super magnum calibers, I love a-square's guns but I can't find any. and do you know how to aquire a single shot 4-bore? I am a big bore fanatic and have shot the biggest of the big, such as the 458 win mag, the 460 weatherby mag, the 50bmg the 505 gibbs the 577 t-rex and the 600 overkill, but I've never shot a 700 nitro or a 4-bore
think about it, the m82 also weighs about 30lbs, which means recoil will be way less. and it has a muzzel break which reduces recoil about 65% to 80%. the 577 tyrannosaur weighs about 8.5 to 12.5 lbs and has no muzzel brake, is a bolt-action, and no recoil pad can tame that much recoil
Seriously thought do you work for Barrett? I mean you know a whole bunch of info? Or are you just a major gun enthuaist? Ive learned more in your last 7 comments than in most places...
kind of figured, did you also know that for anyone who is willing to buy the .577 tyrannosaur, forget a-square's gun, go out and look up american hunting rifles, the 577 tyrannosaur is about $5495
and they also have a 600 overkill for $5990, and then if you could afford it or handle the recoil, you can find 700 nitro express's at searcy eneterprises's website for about $85,000 and their mighty 4-bore for the same price
Crap $85,000! I rather pop down the $15,000 and get the .408 Cheytac M200 Intervention rifle, at least I get a computer with it... and I can spend the $70,000 Ive saved on reloading equipment and a new truck to go out on the range with... Im thinking maybe a military surplus HMMMV or H1 for those who dont know what HMMMV stands for... Anyways I dont hunt large game, I like hitting stuff from far off places... makes me feel good about myself...
well if a bolt-action 600 overkill is 5990 and a double berrel is like 35000 then picture the 4-bore in bolt-action, you'd probably only have two shots but it would be in that 15,000 range
Yeah that is true, but the Cheytac M200 Intervention can hit shit at 2,000 yards+... That would be fun... although I would love to shoot the 600 overkill at something to see how effectively it vaporizes the target... Im thinking coyote...
I'm in to dangerous game hunting so when I turn 21 I'm getting my first dangerous game rifle, the 505 gibbs, 577 tyrannosaur, or the 600 overkill will be my first dangerous game gun, or at least a 460 weatherby magnum
sweet man... at least you have some goals... most young guys play video games and dont leave the house... nots that there is anything wrong with video games, but people dont go out enough and experience the outdoor life... why are you waiting till 21? saving up some money?
heck yeh, I don't have freaking $6,000 on me right now, plus I still live at my mom's house and she absolutely hates any gun larger than a shotgun, so I plan on getting a good paying job to get me a small farm at least 200yds long with a hill at the back to catch bullets.
I know the guy shooting this and despite his lean build, he is very strong and was orginally a gunsmith by trade who has shot many hard recoiling rifles. This one must take the cake.
no, the 600 overkill beats all other commonly available super magnums. and the uncommon super magnums, such as the 700 nitro express and the 950jdj are even worse, all three of them have beyond 250lbs of recoil, meaning they have to be heavy and need a muzzelbreak
haha, he maybe unleashed, ehh about 140lbs of recoil, but 5lbs of recoil is a big step up, and you've still got another 40 to go until you get to the recoil of the 577
hell no, it's got light kick but no where near 0, that gun is still a beast in power though, and easy to find the gun and shells, the gun for about $1500 to $10,000 and the ammo about $2.50 per shell. the tyrannosaur is more like $6,500 to $100,000 and the shells are $85 each. the 577 gets 11,000fpe and the 50bmg gets 14,000 to 17,000 with reloaded hot loads. plus the barret's 8.5 to 30lbs of recoil vs the 577's 180 to 250lbs
@Ginissi It's more like firing a 30-06 MAYBE but with more recoil. It's nothing like firing a .22. You can feel the explosion hit you in the chest. The Barrett's design, weight, muzzle break all come together to form less recoil. I have personally fired a .50cal and so did my 240 pound brother-in-law and he got kicked like he was standing behind a horse (non-military .50cal).
I don't know about that. Barret has done a great job of taming the 50cal. but it still ain't a pussycat. And you don't want to be any where the muzzle brake when one goes off.
no shit, the blast coming out of it would blow your fucking hands off if they were within 4 inches of it's high pressure blast and can still be felt at over 30ft away. and yes the 50cal is a pussy. only 8.5lbs of recoil, muzzel brakes are the cheating way to lessen recoil. plus who wants a bolt-action with a 5lbs muzzel brake on it? now take off that muzzel brake and unleash hell, you'll get over 75lbs of recoil at 30fps
practically yes, but the 50cal still kicks like a 243 winchester, with about 8.5lbs of recoil on the bushmaster ones and 30lbs on the barret. making it equal with a 300 win mag. but then compare it to the 577 tyrannosaur and it is a pussy, it's only about 1/8th the recoil of the 577
the 50bmg is a beast but the 577 is gonna slaughter you, compare that simple 30lbs of recoil that most men cringe at, to the 577's 180lbs that most men could die from, yes people have died from shooting this gun, as it is known for the gun accelorating rapidly during recoil, causing blunt force trauma to the chest and occasionally kill the unlucky users.
@bumsdrums yes, but only because it adds weight to the gun, but then it would be too long, just remove the recoil pad, dril a 1.5" hole about 9 inches into the stock in the middle and fill it to the top with solid lead shot. this will add 10lbs to the total weight and there for reduce recoil from 180lbs down to about 120lbs, a 33.3% reduction in recoil, then get a muzzelbrake off an m82 sniper rifle, get the barrel threaded and it'll reduce it by 65%, making it about 50lbs of recoil:)
The A-square T'rexe's come with a mercury recoil reduction system that reduces the felt recoil to that of a Weatherby 460, which is still stiff but managable.
There are actually 3 mercury recoil reducers in the stock of the A Square 577. The way they are applied after 1000's of rounds test fired they are perfectly intact.
30-06 aint that bad my 14 year old brother shoots it no problem this would knock him over and a .444 marlin is like hell i wanted one my dad said he knows 40 year olds who got knocked over by it
ha more so an average powered 45-70 level of power. go with a 450 marlin and there's a 1,000fpe difference in power, either one will get your attention, but the 450 marlin is gonna have an extra 10lbs more of recoil energy
I have been hunting with and reloading for a 444 marlin for almost 40yrs. It will kill anything that walks the everglades and it kicks alot harder than any of my 30-06's. With 300grn hardcast gaschecked flat point over 52grns N-133 it's recoil is at my upper limit's of tolerance. Come to the swamp boy and go hunting with an old man, you might just learn something.
to expand your tolerance, try different woods, some woods flex more during recoil, and also try a different shape, a thicker recoil pad, and get a limb-saver shoulder pad, with all that done and the gun right at your max tolerances of weight and size, you could handle shoulder firing a 2-bore rifle, or even a 600 overkill
a 30-06 is a pussy in comparison, and a 30-06 will get your attention quickly. lets compare an 8lbs 30-06 rifle with 20lbs of recoil at 18fps to a 15lbs 577 rifle with 180lbs of recoil at 31fps. it would murder you
and you havent even shot a .22 rifle. the .700 nitro express is just made to show off you cant really shoot it more then a few times without your shoulder being destroyed
he took that recoil pretty well. no matter how forward you try to plant your stance and how bladed you are or how firm a grip you have, trust me, that thing will still knock your ass back.
I totally agree. This rifle round carries a lot of recoil. What I don't agree with are some of the other shooters that I've seen here on YouTube, who have dropped the rifle upon recoil. A bit abnormal in my opinion. The shooter in this video does a fine job. Most experienced hunters do too. >>Great video; thanks for sharing it!

hell no, it's got light kick but no where near 0, that gun is still a beast in power though, and easy to find the gun and shells, the gun for about $1500 to $10,000 and the ammo about $2.50 per shell. the tyrannosaur is more like $6,500 to $100,000 and the shells are $85 each. the 577 gets 11,000fpe and the 50bmg gets 14,000 to 17,000 with reloaded hot loads. plus the barret's 8.5 to 30lbs of recoil vs the 577's 180 to 250lbs
drewnickel 1 year ago
@Ginissi It's more like firing a 30-06 MAYBE but with more recoil. It's nothing like firing a .22. You can feel the explosion hit you in the chest. The Barrett's design, weight, muzzle break all come together to form less recoil. I have personally fired a .50cal and so did my 240 pound brother-in-law and he got kicked like he was standing behind a horse (non-military .50cal).
mvickers89 1 year ago
@crankenstein20 a barret 50 cal compared to the t rex is like a 22 compared to a 300 weatherby as far as recoil is concerned
aussieodie 2 years ago
I don't know about that. Barret has done a great job of taming the 50cal. but it still ain't a pussycat. And you don't want to be any where the muzzle brake when one goes off.
klesmer 1 year ago
no shit, the blast coming out of it would blow your fucking hands off if they were within 4 inches of it's high pressure blast and can still be felt at over 30ft away. and yes the 50cal is a pussy. only 8.5lbs of recoil, muzzel brakes are the cheating way to lessen recoil. plus who wants a bolt-action with a 5lbs muzzel brake on it? now take off that muzzel brake and unleash hell, you'll get over 75lbs of recoil at 30fps
drewnickel 1 year ago
practically yes, but the 50cal still kicks like a 243 winchester, with about 8.5lbs of recoil on the bushmaster ones and 30lbs on the barret. making it equal with a 300 win mag. but then compare it to the 577 tyrannosaur and it is a pussy, it's only about 1/8th the recoil of the 577
drewnickel 1 year ago
the 50bmg is a beast but the 577 is gonna slaughter you, compare that simple 30lbs of recoil that most men cringe at, to the 577's 180lbs that most men could die from, yes people have died from shooting this gun, as it is known for the gun accelorating rapidly during recoil, causing blunt force trauma to the chest and occasionally kill the unlucky users.
drewnickel 1 year ago
would the gun have less recoil if you lengthen the barrel?
bumsdrums 2 years ago
@bumsdrums yes, but only because it adds weight to the gun, but then it would be too long, just remove the recoil pad, dril a 1.5" hole about 9 inches into the stock in the middle and fill it to the top with solid lead shot. this will add 10lbs to the total weight and there for reduce recoil from 180lbs down to about 120lbs, a 33.3% reduction in recoil, then get a muzzelbrake off an m82 sniper rifle, get the barrel threaded and it'll reduce it by 65%, making it about 50lbs of recoil:)
drewnickel 2 years ago
The A-square T'rexe's come with a mercury recoil reduction system that reduces the felt recoil to that of a Weatherby 460, which is still stiff but managable.
klesmer 1 year ago
true, but it's mercury, and mercury is very very toxic, it makes lead look like a joke
drewnickel 1 year ago
and that massive recoil will eventually break the tubes containing the mercury, there for exposing you to the toxic metal
drewnickel 1 year ago
Tell that to the engineers at A-square.
klesmer 1 year ago
I mean they help alot with recoil, but you'll eventually have to replace them
drewnickel 1 year ago
There are actually 3 mercury recoil reducers in the stock of the A Square 577. The way they are applied after 1000's of rounds test fired they are perfectly intact.

@xSRHxSpade mmmm mercury ... is that safe?

30-06 aint that bad my 14 year old brother shoots it no problem this would knock him over and a .444 marlin is like hell i wanted one my dad said he knows 40 year olds who got knocked over by it
mike12703 2 years ago
I have hunted with a .444 for over 30yrs. Loaded with 300grn flat points it will definately get your undivided attention.
klesmer 2 years ago
ha more so an average powered 45-70 level of power. go with a 450 marlin and there's a 1,000fpe difference in power, either one will get your attention, but the 450 marlin is gonna have an extra 10lbs more of recoil energy
drewnickel 1 year ago
I have been hunting with and reloading for a 444 marlin for almost 40yrs. It will kill anything that walks the everglades and it kicks alot harder than any of my 30-06's. With 300grn hardcast gaschecked flat point over 52grns N-133 it's recoil is at my upper limit's of tolerance. Come to the swamp boy and go hunting with an old man, you might just learn something.
klesmer 1 year ago
to expand your tolerance, try different woods, some woods flex more during recoil, and also try a different shape, a thicker recoil pad, and get a limb-saver shoulder pad, with all that done and the gun right at your max tolerances of weight and size, you could handle shoulder firing a 2-bore rifle, or even a 600 overkill
drewnickel 1 year ago
Dude, I appreciate your advice but I'm 65yrs old and have no sholders left. I am scheduled to have my right sholder replaced in a month or so.

what is stronger PTRS or 577.T-Rex?
deaderrol 2 years ago
PTRS. It can use other variants of the 14.5x114mm cartridge - HE, API, and all other types used by the Warsaw Pact.

The one designed to kill tanks.

I realy want to try something like this :). I know how it is to fire an .30-06 and lower cals. but i want to try .577 :)
Kottsson 2 years ago
a 30-06 is a pussy in comparison, and a 30-06 will get your attention quickly. lets compare an 8lbs 30-06 rifle with 20lbs of recoil at 18fps to a 15lbs 577 rifle with 180lbs of recoil at 31fps. it would murder you
