  • Zucker has the most annoying voice I've ever heard

  • Mr. Zucker made his mark in opera, for certain. But I question his authority on technique based simply on his opinion of the most nuanced singer for all time- Caruso. He opines that he was a single dimensional singer without any artistic nuance. That's when I began to question Mr. Zucker's opinions.

  • Germany my a**, the man said Denmark!

  • massad ayoob

  • One of the curious things about Corelli is that he could walk away from his huge career and adulation from fans while his voice was still excellent and he could still sing all his notes and all his roles. I think these convesations with Zucker showe that Corelli after his retirement still had some interest in connecting with his public.

  • Without details on how this technique is learned and used, "laryngeal method" remains just a phrase with no real meaning. Basic vocal technique requires a relaxed throat and this keeps the larynx low.

  • absolutely agree.

  • Interesting interview in the respect that I was under the belief that Corelli learned his technique from Lauri-Volpi( and therefore the quasi technique of Melocchi) and Del Monaco had only spent a very short time with Melocchi. This is a rare treasure indeed. I enjoyed his viewpoint on Lauri-Volpi having a complete voice as it is true. I wonder if somewhere there is a description of Caruso's technique with regard to singing on the larynx. For me, he was the most complete singer for all time.

  • Del Monaco studied for a long time with Melocchi. Corelli taught himself from recordings and from conversations with friends who were studying voice. Corelli coached with Lauri-Volpi during his career, not before he began singing professionally.

  • Dear /BelCantoSociaty/ thank you for yours rare and usefull videos.

  • since Del Monaco's voice was at certain time inaudible it just says that he was not using right tecknique before Melocchi.

  • Wow, to be able to hear Corelli as he talks about his craft, and about the techniques of other famous singers! This is terrific.

  • No.
