it is said somewhere that indigenous north american people came from along asia, possibly russia, over the "ice bridge" connecting the two continents during the ice age long ago -- probably would explain why native americans and pre-spanish mexico natives (mayas, etc) look alike and also some look like they could be asian as well

So much conflicting info. but generally it is assumed that they migrated across alaska into America. but if u look at them they are much stronger and taller than asians and there skin is brown asian is usualy lighter.

@tagspin No, they are not. They are a separate race, if you insist on talking race. You must know though that there are racially differently natives. South american native are one "race" of natives then "american" natives or canadian natives. North canadian natives are usually inuit related and thus mongoloid race. US natives and until mexico or another type of native and mexico and south american natives are another type of native. Sort of.
