@72metallicafan can't really say. i didn't find the grind all that bad. but i know others who found it unbearable. i guess it would depend on whether or not you enjoy the tactical combat. i for one loved the combat, so doing it for a few hours at a time was enjoyable. for those that don't love the combat, i'm sure it'll feel like a grind.

With a story-line like this, i can now expect so much from BioWare on "The Old Republic"... they could make some great movies from these games, problem is: too much content for a single movie; and with all the choices, which one would you pick for the movie ? :-o

Great game, great story, it just takes too damn long to finish and i am so eager to find out other endings and to explore all the different choices you have.

Best game i've played.

The story, was DEFINATELY the best i have seen in a videogame.

This is personally, the greatest game i have ever played, the cutscene at Ostagar was EPIC. When i saw it, i was emotional, as when Duncan and King Cailen died. But, the DLC Return To Ostagar, i felt like their story was fulfilled and that Cailen was laid to rest.

And the Expansion Awakening was definitely the greatest DLC/Expansion i have ever played for a game. It added so much more to the game.

Seems to be a great game! I liked KOTOR2 and will like this as well. Great graphics, great story and not-so-appalling pause system equal to great fun. Also seems to be a good change for my usual WoW evenings. So I'll be geting it.

I loved the game, and your review is great.

That said, I can't bring myself to playing through it again. Although I want to see different endings, the game just has too much filler. So many of the quests are just about getting from point A to B while stopping every five steps to kill 20 baddies. And some? The Sloth demon in the Circle Tower? Just what I wanted after crawling through a dungeon for 4 hours... Another dungeon to crawl in for another 4 hours! Just let me progress the story already!

I've tried to like this game but cant my main problem is combat. Its woeful when compared to BG2. The main problem is taking out attacks of opportunity ( AOO ) when enemies leave your combat zone. Take for example BG2 the warriors or high AC held the front line while the DPS classes fired from behind even with me trying it vice versa. The AI and myself knew to try and take mages out but at cost of AOO.. All my DA fights end in a big brawl with no tactics it feels to arcadey even with pause

@TheSphynx88 The PC game has been set a lot harder because of the tactics, on console you can battle in realtime for hours, without ever pausing. This is impossible on PC. Most people complain about the uneven difficulty. That you often have to go down to easy to beat certain battles and others you breeze through and think you could win at hard difficulty.

Lol. Dragon Age Origins is indeed a great game. However. Why they chose to completely copy Final Fantasy's 12 Gambit System is beyond me. The tactical combat is good, but I do agree that Baldur's Gate is unmatched. They should have been able to enact more unique types of combat.

who do you recommend you have in your party to kill the Revenants ???? because those things are ridiculously brutal

i'm no expert, but i find that stun or freeze or paralyze spells work well on revenants (or any tough enemy). i usually have two mages: one one dps, one heal. morrigan and wynn work well together. and then have a tank that can keep the aggro on him (with talents like threaten, etc.) and another dps (like a rogue, either ranged or backstabbing), and that usually does the trick, at least on normal difficulty. against the redcliffe castle revenant, you can open the gate and have up to 4 npcs help.

Think of it as a tactical rpg + diablo(except the hacking is automated), the pause function is actually essential to make to game not too hard nor too easy.

Considering the amount of work bioware has contributed to the PC version (unlike infinity tard), the game is a must buy. (great gameplay, mods, blah blah blah)

I started this game normal but it got really really hard.

i played mostly on normal difficulty, but there were several fights that i just couldn't win, for whatever reason, and i switched to easy for those fights. yeah, this is not an easy game to play on normal difficulty. and easy seems a bit too easy, most of the time. i wish there was something in between easy and normal.
