I would not say Aang and Katara are boyfriend and girlfriend. If you know who they are in personality and nature, they are extremely caring. They have been through a -lot- together and have become unimaginably intimate with each other, arguably inseparably bound until they die. I would argue that they are unimaginably close friends. The significant other you are saying "I love you" to doesn't only have to be to your family or boyfriend, girlfriend, fiance, wife, or husband.

He's been on that Earth for 100 years but, frozen in time. Cryogenics means you're completely frozen in time. He's still bloody 12. That means Aang likes older chicks and Katara likes Oompa-loompas
