That flatworm is actually a type of planarian. If you cut it in half, the second half will grow a head. If you cut the head in half it'll grow two. They have them here in southern CA too and probably the rest of the states.

This is a strange worm I saw on the Big Island of Hawaii. Has a head, moved almost snake-like. Very odd and strange. Only on Hawaii.

It's a free-living flatworm, a big terrestrial planarian, probably of Bipalium genus.
