@mike104740 The Ye-8 was one of a few three-surface MiGs from the 1960s. I believe there were two examples built and I also understand both were lost. The idea was to expand the manoeuvrability envelope and at the same time, solve the limitations on radar dish size imposed by the annular intake.

Not surprising it looks like a Eurofighter. There's not much new in aerodynamics and the Soviets were working on this stuff before the West. They just lacked a computer to control it.

@mike104740 Hey Mike, go to Wikipedia and search for Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-8 and you'll get some limited information there.

These were not the only 3-surface MiGs built in the 1960s. The Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-150 series was also intended to have canards. I'm unsure as to whether this was ever done but I believe it was. Happy to look up any other info I have if you're interested (I've got a few books).

Sorry , but its not a Mig 21 ... is a Mig 15 for the 70's and 80's. The nose turbine and the delta wings gives it way .

Please let me remind you that during war time between Egypt & Israel, Soviet pilots came to Egypt after 1967 war. In one day Israeli pilots shoot down 4 Mig21 rides by Soviet Pilots!!! Next Day the Soviet Minister of Defense came to Egypt. The problem that the generation of Israel fighters was more advanced than the Russian fighters with Arabs. Any way, Russian help Arab countries a lot, but it was a hard time for us and for the Russian.

why the FAA wont' let you have the altimeter on metric system???....are you trying to fly this 23???..the FAA will only force you to change the altimeter on metric system only if you want to fly this mig ..though I dout it it can fly

@ungureanumarian12 well, there was a mig for sale in 2005 for $100,000 with a spare engine, based in virginia on ebay. it was fully certified to fly in NA, so it can fly in USA.
