This song had to have made the Billboard US Hot 100. It's too good not to be there. If the song didn't chart thaan the album had to have charted. I mean come on...this song is a classic.
Is Chuck Francour a native of St. Louis? I don't know much about him other than this song & that this album was released on EMI in 1980.
I was in a (nearly) glam-rock band with Chuck, back in about '82. Incredibly talented, and even greater person. Just when things were starting to shake, Chuck's wife was killed by a drunk driver, leaving Chuck to raise their collective five (maybe six) girls. Was such a tragic time for him. Chuck moved back to Michigan where he continued with music production. My wife & I stayed in touch with Chuck for several years, but he's since dropped off of the map. Miss him!
@laaxe I looked him up at All Music Guide & there's not one iota of information on him. I'd like to know a little more about him such as his locale & whether he had any charting pop albums or singles. Can anybody help me?
@laaxe Seems like I heard somewhere in the wake of his wife being killed by a drunk driver that he became a born again Christian & began to produce Christian music. I don't know how much truth there is to that but that would make a little bit of sense. He did do a musical score for a soundtrack in the late 80's. That's the only info I could come up w/on the Internet. Don't remember the name of the movie though. May have to look it up again.
@bucky468 FaceBook & You Tube must be an investigators "sliced bread!" Oddly enough, I (after years on the web, found Chuck. He's doing very well, remarried some 10 years ago, and travels seasonally between Michigan (where I knew he'd gone), and Florida. If he became a born again, he doesn't wear it on his sleeve, and did (thanks for the reminder), record a few songs for an old 80's flick "Dance Academy", which I worked on with Chuck. His MySpace page (yep) has lots of info. Message me for more!
@bucky468 Sorry for the late reply. The name of the movie was "Dance Academy." One of several songs Chuck wrote/produced was called "Dance, Dance, Dance!", and found here at You Tube. Chuck pulled me in for the guitar work on that tune, where the highlight of the session was meeting Trini Lopez. Now how many people can say "I met Trini Lopez!?" Ha!
you can find this on Cd at now hear this in kirkwood missouri, Chuck was a fine artist and you can find him and all other Kshe classics artist at Now Hear This.
Sounds like a cross between Rod Stewart & Bob Seger. I hear a little Michael Stanley in this guy too.
Thought I heard somewhere that this guy now either writes or produces Christian music for artists such as MercyMe & Rich Mullins. Is this true or was that just a "blind" rumor?
Funny that All Music Guide has no entry for this artist. Don't know if his albums charted or if his singles hit the Hot 100 pop charts. AMG has zilch on him!! Wish there was a more reliable pop music source.
Used to work with Chuck at the late, lamented Great American Food & Bev. Co. in the 70s. So talented and one of the nicest, least egotistical guys around. Monster chops and everyone loved him. Chuck, where are you?
I heard this song last year for the first time on KSHE. I found the vinyl album on Ebay and bought it sealed for 50 USD. It's never been issued on CD but if you search around, you can find an mp3 here and there ripped from the LP. I've done this myself so if anybody is interested, find me on Yahoo messenger. My id is maverik_vegas. As far as the artist Chuck Francour, he has a myspace page now but I'm not sure how well its maintained, if at all.
So who is this guy? I listened to Kshe all the time when I was a kid and never heard this song before but that was around 1992. I first found out about this song around 6 years ago when a friend burned me some mp3s. I've searched the internet and can't find anything on him. Is he still playing?
Don't know much about him, and it took a long time to be able to hear this song. Always heard it on KQRS in Mpls, so assumed he is from Canada. About all I know.
let me agree with the KSHE real rock radio comments..xcellent song..how lucky we were to have back in stl..denver could use some real rock ..thanks for the song
