i think i have the answer to the why guts killing the kid and how to make it funny all you have to do is insert a one liner like the guy with the glasses in csi miami saying *puts on glasses* "Well i can tell you this the reason why you killed this kid who is a pussy is because you are a pussy yourself." or ill just put this in a more funny way "well looks like the real pussy *puts on glasses* is you."*intro plays*
I thought this episode was good. I still think about that joke when Guts is talking that when he kills this kid he’ll lose his childhood innocence, and when he stabs him he says "Man, that's deep". Brilliant. Though I would have said he’d kill his childhood FEARS or WEAKNESSES. Wouldn’t that be more important to him? Still a good joke though.
At 1:47 when Guts kills Julius, what's that enormous sword lying on the floor? It's as big as Gut's sword, yet he's holding his own still in his hands.
no no, hbi2k, you did it perfectly. "WAIT IT DIDN'T WORK! OH CRAP!" That was awesome. You win for that. I had to pause for five minutes while I cracked up.
I always figured that Griffith choosing Guts for the assassination was a very intelligent and ruthless decision. He knows that what Guts does best is kill lots of people, so he sends Guts to kill one person while knowing that Guts will make a mistake and have to kill Julius' son.
What griffith wanted was for both Julius and his son to be dead, but he knows that ordering Guts to kill a child would cross the moral event horizon, so he makes it so that Guts has no choice but to kill the kid.
Not only would Guts be the only one to kill the kid indiscriminately, but he's the only one who would probably not crack under the guilt of having done so. After all, he bottles up everything else so well, it's not that great a leap in logic to conclude he'd do the same here.
i wouldn't want kids to be studying berserk like shakespeare in the future. do we really want a generation that hates berserk the way me and everyone i know thats my age hates shakespeare?
How old are you? I'm sixteen and my friends and I love Shakespeare. I mean, it's not like we read Shakespeare for fun or anything, but we always enjoy the story...especially Hamlet.
Try getting Romeo and Juliet shoved down your throat spending every day talking about "immoderation". FUCK THAT SHIT! And as for Hamlet, I think I'll stick to The Lion King.
My fanboy rant is similar to yours. Berserk is just saw raw and brutal when dealing with the realism of People. People on the inside are just as duplicitous as Griffith, and just as bloodthirsty as Gutz, and just as loyal as Caska.
How you see someone when they are around you can sometimes be very different than who they are when you arent there. We've all heard someone we thought was a friend cut on us behind our back when they didn't know we could hear.
Kinda funny how you considered this to be one of your worst episodes, because some of my favorite lines are in this one. "Daddy, I can't sleep, can I have some more verbal abuse?" and "I hope no one got brutally murdered while we were gone!" (that one was mostly in the delivery) both had me laughing like crazy XD
I think he forgot to mention that this is the episode where Griffeth refers to his men as pawns, eluding to what his eventual choice will be in the final episode.
I agree with you that Berserk should be taught in schools for symbolism like that, but I think that that concept should not be limited to just Berserk. I believe that anime such as Code Geass, Death Note, hell, even Shaman King are perfect for the same purpose. The difference is that instead of the character development focus, which is there, don't get me wrong, the focus is more on ideology and methods. That's just me, though.
I agree with you in the strongest terms in regard to Berserk being art. it is art, there is no question of this fact, it is not only by far the strongest manga I have read but also among the stongest anime I have watched and thats just the english version. reading and watching the english versions of Berserk not only inspired me to learn Japanese to the extent where I could understand them in their pure form, now that I have read and watched the Japanese it has made the series stronger for me.
Your little rant made me feel ignorant to be honest, i never really read that much into the scene as you, kinda of makes me think of all the other subtle things i missed.
I always though because of the parody of the opening announcer in episode 3,4 or 5 that you thought the the Anime was trying to hard to define its plot and characters, and to give them meaning.
On this ep., does anyone know what song starts playing around 3:10? It's not on this, but it is on the original episode. I've been hunting for the song, and I can't find it...:'(
you know, the line where guts kills the kid is so awesome, i couldn't stop laughing i had to stop the episode to come down....and after that i watched the part 10 time in a row again....good work hbi2k
I totally agree with you that Berserk is completely subjectable to literary criticism, and that it really deserves it. If you ever do one of thise fanboy rants again, I'll totally listen, because it's just to neat to hear it done.
I actually really liked this episode. I loved how you handled one of the darkest moments in the anime, providing a mix of humor without taking away the impact of what happened.
I'd also like to hear more of your "fan boy" rants. You seem well versed in not only Bersek mythos but also the little historical touches (ie maidens and knights) put into it.
this was actually one of my favorite episodes but yeah i really see what you mean about inconsistant. though i refferenced the oncoming train thing alot in history and english class
Love, love, LOVE your interpretation of that scene. I actually used that scene a few weeks ago for my presentation in a Romance of Arthur class. I didn't look at what you looked at specifically--I instead was comparing Griffith to a really, really dark take on King Arthur, but I completely agree with you that Berserk is an amazing work or art, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring it into the classroom if I were a teacher. : )
I wish we had a class dedicated to studying berserk, I mean my english teacher had us read twilight(which in my opinion sucks) why not have us read BERSERK!!
Your teacher made u guys read Twilight. That is absolutely horrible. Twilight is like the most generic story ever. Love and vampires....haven't heard that before.
we even had a test about it, which pissed me off because it was the only test for the class and I lost a letter grade for the first semester (I got a B) plus I don't see how they could have gotten the book approved by the administrator, I told my english teacher that necrophilia is illegal and that vampires don't fucking SPARKLE. She just told me to read the book. Case in point we should definitely study Berserk in our schools
this was actually one of my favorite episodes. i would quote some of my favorite lines but there are too many in this one.
the one i laughed most at is definitely this one "Oh man, that was a great smoke-break. I hope no one got brutally murdered while we were gone! Oh man, every time!"
and you keep talking about how your first episode sucked. it was great! it seems like most of the jokes you explicitly say that you didnt think were that funny, turn out to be some of my favorites
I agree with you, it's not OFTEN you find an anime with so many subtle hints and such. But those that do are truly art.
I like to think Yu yu Hakusho has a deeper meaning and such a lot of things to think about. But that Berserk, Elfen Lied, and Histories strongest disciple Kenichi are the only ones I can think of.
Also an anime doesn't' HAVE to have those to be good, but ti does make it easier.
Geez, here is hbi2k killing himself over scenes that might not have had me bawling on the floor, but made me chuckle, this only magnifies how terrible my half-baked excuses for stabs at satire are compared to his work.
I thought it was great. It really says something when you can make a double homicide funny. That's one thing, it could have been so much worse, and you can only do so much to keep that from being terrible, and you really pulled it off. Not my favorite episode, but far from the worst.
Hah! This is actually one of my favorite episodes. The abstinance line is good, the pawn thing is long, yes, but still good. Makes Griff seem very arrogant.
I was hoping the commentary would have a reference to the "Naughty!" joke from the unified Christmas special. That bit is like a thought virus, I just can't get rid of it.
I think you're my favorite abridger, hbi2k. Your commentaries make me understand you more. They make you seem more human. You aren't just someone who's talented at voice-overs, you're a fan. Someone I can relate to.
I hope that makes as much sense to you as it does to me right now. Keep up the great work!
I personally love this episode. Once for the mentioned "yaddering about abstinence"-comment, but also for the batman joke and I personally love the comparison between Guts and the kid and his idea of "killing his childhood and calling it deep". Also Griffins pawn-comparison is great, since it is very close to the original and only scrates the satire-faction... its very skillfully writen by you.
I can only say that I really liked this one in particular.
episode 10 of Berserk abridged was my favorite due to the comparison of guts to that kid. I thought that the jokes were funny, especially the one about equality and gut's response with "mine's way bigger" when he pulls out his sword. Also, great commentary on that scene that was never included
YES! The taste of wine joke is my favorite BAS joke of yours! Somehow it flew over my head the first time I watched it, but the second time I lafd so hard.
First love yout commentary its really fun to hear what your thinking and how make such great jokes. I think your being pretty tough on yourself. I also loved the condom joke.
Very Ironic indeed, but I haven't found any of your episodes to be particularly lacking in quality, especialy on Gantz, that abridged has just kicked ass from day one.
I agree with you there. Berserk should be taught in school like Shakespeare and those guys.................people can wish.
People did not "like" the abstinence joke because they probably did not want to reveal their own....pervertedness, if it may be.
There is so much that can be said in a very brief moment, like with the Caska moment. You had a lot to say, in a short episode, which adds to the effect of (above sentence)
Well I happened to enjoy this episode very much when it came out. In fact I watched it again after your last commentary episode just to get amped for this one. Every episode you did of BA was fresh and seemed well thought out even if you admit you were filling time. It could also be your editing style:simple and to the point and whenever that one kid kept nagging you about hearing clicks after every line from your mouse you totally just ignored him. Thatmadeyougainpointsinmybookforsomesickreason
Am I wrong for liking Farnese (The order of Iron Chain girl)/Guts? Actually guts is working on his own little Harem. The Witch, the Knight and when Caska gets her mind back her.
Only if you have a problem with rooting for the underdog. (-:
Although my pet theory is still that Casca will get her mind back exactly five minutes after Guts finally gets with someone else. Nothing good can ever happen to anyone in Berserk without something else happening to turn it bad. (-:
thats what I have always figured that and Puck would turn out to be important and not just weak comic relift. Still good comentary when you said Guts is really really desterbed by what happens to him here. I laughed my ass off mainly at the Guts is really really desterbed part.
I do not mind rooting for the underdog, I dunno I think they have a real connection, how she was more important than a Ship, and how she wanted to give him and Caska a chance for happiness on the way to the Elf King even if she had to remain behind.
I really like her as a character, she loves him, she hates how Caska doesn't recognize him, but then she can't remain mad at her because she really cares for her.
Then again Berserk is Like Warcraft (Except better), nothing good happens to ANYONE!
I think the humor dissonance about the abstinence line vs. the stabbing line is that the abstinence line might seem like less funny, more take that abstinence preachers - the stabbing line seems to be pure humor value.
It's always fun to hear what goes/went through your head when you make and rewatch this. :) Thanks for offering that.
Did you ever consider commenting on the episodes of Berserk it's self? Or possibly the Manga? I can't really think of a way to do it without getting, in trouble with copyright, but it would be interesting. I also doubt you would get many views for it. In all honesty I'm just a curious Berserk fanboy myself wondering your thoughts on it.
you seem to think that comared to others you have no skill. this boggals my mind. is there some proffecionals that im compleatly unaware of? BAS is one of the best iv ever seen. and i really dont like but 4 others, and 2 of the others u made or had a hand in it. the rest of the abriged anime are just cheap jokes, and bad voices. oh and watching this abriged anime made me want to watch the anime, so a great thx for that ^^ keep up the great work
That was great hbi2k. Really felt the passion (much akin to mine for Berserk), and at the same time understood something new in the scene that I never really noticed. I guess I was just so into what was happening and cutting through the dialogue to understand how this factors Guts, that I didn't see it. Good times man.
Good commentary! It strikes me that it would be interesting to hear you give commentary to the actual Berserk series! I love your take on this episode.
i gotta say hbi i joyed that abstinence(sp) joke also i gotta say you got real deep with the whole caska giving guts part of her shirt (i mean it was a good point but still it was rather educational)
I never gave it much thought, shame on me, but i can see what you meant, I love Berserk as well because of its depth and darkness, Its one of my fav anime/manga of all. I just wish new manga vols came out. the suspense is KILLING ME! and has been for over a year... and i think most of us here myself included are all Fanboys of berserk so rant all u want my friend we'll bear it and chuckle along with you!
AH-HA!!! You ARE a philosophy major aren't you! lol That was an awesome bit of insight with the #1 Berserk fan. Very cool. I knew there were deep parts to the episodes, but I never really thought about it to that level. I guess its like me with Naruto, Bleach, and FMA. Especially FMA. That manga can get into some really amazing philosophical stuff.
Its interesting to hear you laugh as well. I love it when a commentary is fun to the commentator as well lol.
People may have called this a weaker episode, but I think you made this one of your best commentaries thus far! I'm really glad you added that aside about Caska. When watching Berserk, I hadn't thought that much into that scene, especially about the whole lady-giving-her-knight-a-token bit.
I realy liked the absedence joke. If you have time you should conseder taking clips from episodes of Beserk/Gantz/any other anime and give the comentary like you just gave. It was realy insightful and interesting
I liked this episode a lot. I thought the Douche bag scene and the rest of the episode were pretty good. I can't say what your worst is, but it's definatley not this one
Wow, quite insightful, most especially about the scene with Guts and Casca. Berserk is just so terrific with these small character moments outside of battle for some reason. It just... meshes well, and we get to know them through small, subtle moments that build up into something more over time.
Plus that nice ethereal track that plays in those scenes helps immensely. Now if only I knew the name of it.
Hahaha, total fanboy moment, I love it. Especially since you hear very little actual...uhhh, emotion, for lack of a better word, from just about anyone about their particular series that they chose to abridge.
All I'm saying is, I actually liked the fanboy rant.
well the shirt off her arm, but same thing. It's great hearing your opinion of the show, and how you're not only making fun of it with the abridged episodes, but you're also passionate about each of the characters and the role they play in the show. ...hmm, I need to read the manga now. Look forward to the next commentary.
i forgote that scene entirely. Really didn't see what you saw in your fanboy rant when i watched the show the first time. LoL theres allot of anime out there that has more artistic nature than beserk but as far as action go its top cut for sure.
Wow, u really went deep about that scene with Casca and her shirt, personally I thought it was cliche and cheesy, and has been seen a million times before as a part where the protagonist's best female friend slowly begins to fall in love with them by doing something that has absolutely no subtlety to it. But if your the kind of person who likes to see an obligatory love scene like that, all the power to you.
Besides, in Berserk it doesn't come across as contrived. Given the circumstances, it makes perfect sense that Casca would initially be hostile toward Guts, and that it would take forever for her to admit her feelings for him to herself and, finally, to him. It's true to the characters.
I'll take that over Generic Tsundere For No Reason Anime Chick #43 any day of the week.
and Hbi just gave us a the same fan ranting reasons that movie fans do about movies today.
and again I kinda agree but I have accepted one thing with said movies and with what Hbi just said: Its all for the business.
in this case Tsundere are popular in current anime and will liking eventually take second fiddle until coming back around eventually. because of this when the writers add in these characters alot of times they don't go deep into why so they come out Generic to save time.
do u really think that ripping off you shirt to make a bandage is any more subtle than something like sleeping with someone to keep them from freezing to death, or jumping in front of flesh eating acid? Well anyways, I know I can't change the opinion of a fanboy so I'm glad u enjoyed that scene.
She seems pretty Tsundere to me at the beginning. I could never figure out what was pissing her off about Guts.
I understand that he's a Merc and killing some of the Hawks' buddies but what was up her bum? Is it that Griff has a thing for him? Is it because he's a loud, violent, and dirty fighter? Maybe I just missed something subtle and it sure wouldn't be the first time...
... You can deduce that much from only like a minute of screen time... Wow. I never thought of stuff like that. I usually think, "thats the hinted pair, thats who I'm rooting for" but you see all of this little symbolic sides and details of character! You have changed the way I look at anime and the characters. Thank you Hbi2k. Thank you.
I think berserk is the only anime I have gotten so totely, how can I say, swallowd by, not one time watching it i went like "f'ck its getting boring where is the fastforward" or like, "I could have done taht better" or "yea here that comes and now that line and now he will do that". I watched it begining to middel and middel to end totely concentrated and I have rewatch it 2 times after that, and it alwys hits me how actully deep the series is even if you wouldent like it to be, it is on its own
I really enjoyed your insight into the Guts/Caska scene! You make some really good observations and points and I enjoyed hearing about it! Don't be afraid to let your fanboy show! ^_^
I like how you started ranting towards the end, that was great...also I thought the joke about killing the kid and killing the kid inside him was great.
I never really thought about Berserk that way. I actually never got into it until after Berserk Abridged. According to Wikipedia, the Manga is still going. Is that true?
you described it in a mAgnificent fashion that was meaningful and deep. bravo! oh and another deep series is devilman(2-3 ovas and 5 manga volumes) and it has deep impact and a guts/griffith/caska love triangle/hate triangle with its leads(and many other similarities). i bring it up since its one of my favourites and your love of berserk reminds me of my feelings for devilman.
I can picture hbi2k in a high school classroom just giving a lesson about midevil times and then a student does not pay attention and then hbi just brings out a giant sword and tells the kid "you better shut your ass up ya little bastard"
I noticed that your getting alot better at commentating. In the first few episodes you sounded kinda awkward but now your starting to have more of a conversational tone.
Wow, I never realized how deep Berserk can be. I just thought it was war. violence and demon killing. I'm not sure if schools will be analyzing Berserk in the future, but people should at least still know about its existence because it is such a good series.
don't you get that feeling that berserk is just scratching on an enormious universe?? like we're not seeing everything or there is so much we don't know about the world of berserk?
Don't feel bad hbi2k! The whole joke with the little kid is my favorite part. When I think of this episode, the first quote out of me is "Oh crap it backfired! Now I'm more emo then ever!"
i think i have the answer to the why guts killing the kid and how to make it funny all you have to do is insert a one liner like the guy with the glasses in csi miami saying *puts on glasses* "Well i can tell you this the reason why you killed this kid who is a pussy is because you are a pussy yourself." or ill just put this in a more funny way "well looks like the real pussy *puts on glasses* is you."*intro plays*

i think choosing guts has very profound reasons:
1) griffith trusts guts the most
2) the others kinda worship griffith. and such an assassination just doesn't work too well with that glorious image.

I always figured that Griffith choosing Guts for the assassination was a very intelligent and ruthless decision. He knows that what Guts does best is kill lots of people, so he sends Guts to kill one person while knowing that Guts will make a mistake and have to kill Julius' son.

I thought it was great. It really says something when you can make a double homicide funny. That's one thing, it could have been so much worse, and you can only do so much to keep that from being terrible, and you really pulled it off. Not my favorite episode, but far from the worst.

OMG! Do you know how amazing it would be to study berserk in school? I would love that. and to see the looks on the teachers faces.
"Guess what teachers? We're studying Berserk."
"Oh really? well let's see if it's school appropriate....Oh God!"
But other than the fact Berserk is rated...probably R...I agree with you all the way.

I liked this episode, and the abstaninst line. but i do have to say the "he'll never see it coming" line was my favorite.
RedAngelBlackAngel 3 years ago
Hah! This is actually one of my favorite episodes. The abstinance line is good, the pawn thing is long, yes, but still good. Makes Griff seem very arrogant.
I was hoping the commentary would have a reference to the "Naughty!" joke from the unified Christmas special. That bit is like a thought virus, I just can't get rid of it.

i love the abstinence line

I think you're my favorite abridger, hbi2k. Your commentaries make me understand you more. They make you seem more human. You aren't just someone who's talented at voice-overs, you're a fan. Someone I can relate to.
I hope that makes as much sense to you as it does to me right now. Keep up the great work!
TheophastusBombastus 3 years ago
You really think so?
I personally love this episode. Once for the mentioned "yaddering about abstinence"-comment, but also for the batman joke and I personally love the comparison between Guts and the kid and his idea of "killing his childhood and calling it deep". Also Griffins pawn-comparison is great, since it is very close to the original and only scrates the satire-faction... its very skillfully writen by you.
I can only say that I really liked this one in particular.
Davesknd 3 years ago
I thought the pawn joke was pretty good in theory, but in practice it was kind of too much setup for not enough payoff. Not bad, but not my best.
Of course, the "sacrificing them to bring a more important piece back to life" bit is a lot funnier (and sadder) if you know how the series ends.
hbi2k 3 years ago
Your laugh is so cute. In a totally heterosexual way.
GlowingBeard 3 years ago
episode 10 of Berserk abridged was my favorite due to the comparison of guts to that kid. I thought that the jokes were funny, especially the one about equality and gut's response with "mine's way bigger" when he pulls out his sword. Also, great commentary on that scene that was never included

I liked the abstinence joke. I found it hilarious.
jhagins 3 years ago
I agree with you there. Berserk should be taught in school like Shakespeare and those guys.................people can wish.
People did not "like" the abstinence joke because they probably did not want to reveal their own....pervertedness, if it may be.
There is so much that can be said in a very brief moment, like with the Caska moment. You had a lot to say, in a short episode, which adds to the effect of (above sentence)
Gattsu125 3 years ago
Well I happened to enjoy this episode very much when it came out. In fact I watched it again after your last commentary episode just to get amped for this one. Every episode you did of BA was fresh and seemed well thought out even if you admit you were filling time. It could also be your editing style:simple and to the point and whenever that one kid kept nagging you about hearing clicks after every line from your mouse you totally just ignored him. I have a question. How come the anime versions of Berserk, Helsing, and Gantz end so abruptly before the manga?
marcuswoods2006 3 years ago
Am I wrong for liking Farnese (The order of Iron Chain girl)/Guts? Actually guts is working on his own little Harem. The Witch, the Knight and when Caska gets her mind back her.
HavenKhaos 3 years ago
No your not wrong, also he does indeed have a harem, and technically the witch's elf/fairy thing is a female too.
Grif669 3 years ago
Only if you have a problem with rooting for the underdog. (-:
Although my pet theory is still that Casca will get her mind back exactly five minutes after Guts finally gets with someone else. Nothing good can ever happen to anyone in Berserk without something else happening to turn it bad. (-:
hbi2k 3 years ago
thats what I have always figured that and Puck would turn out to be important and not just weak comic relift. Still good comentary when you said Guts is really really desterbed by what happens to him here. I laughed my ass off mainly at the Guts is really really desterbed part.
TheThreeAlters 3 years ago
I do not mind rooting for the underdog, I dunno I think they have a real connection, how she was more important than a Ship, and how she wanted to give him and Caska a chance for happiness on the way to the Elf King even if she had to remain behind.
I really like her as a character, she loves him, she hates how Caska doesn't recognize him, but then she can't remain mad at her because she really cares for her.
Then again Berserk is Like Warcraft (Except better), nothing good happens to ANYONE!
HavenKhaos 3 years ago
I think the humor dissonance about the abstinence line vs. the stabbing line is that the abstinence line might seem like less funny, more take that abstinence preachers - the stabbing line seems to be pure humor value.
It's always fun to hear what goes/went through your head when you make and rewatch this. :) Thanks for offering that.
Dalantia 3 years ago
Did you ever consider commenting on the episodes of Berserk it's self? Or possibly the Manga? I can't really think of a way to do it without getting, in trouble with copyright, but it would be interesting. I also doubt you would get many views for it. In all honesty I'm just a curious Berserk fanboy myself wondering your thoughts on it.

That was great hbi2k. Really felt the passion (much akin to mine for Berserk), and at the same time understood something new in the scene that I never really noticed.

DosuZakuKin 3 years ago
Wow, quite insightful, most especially about the scene with Guts and Casca. Berserk is just so terrific with these small character moments outside of battle for some reason. It just... meshes well, and we get to know them through small, subtle moments that build up into something more over time.
Plus that nice ethereal track that plays in those scenes helps immensely. Now if only I knew the name of it.
jurpentine 3 years ago
Hahaha, total fanboy moment, I love it. Especially since you hear very little actual...uhhh, emotion, for lack of a better word, from just about anyone about their particular series that they chose to abridge.
All I'm saying is, I actually liked the fanboy rant.

well the shirt off her arm, but same thing. It's great hearing your opinion of the show, and how you're not only making fun of it with the abridged episodes, but you're also passionate about each of the characters and the role they play in the show. ...hmm, I need to read the manga now. Look forward to the next commentary.

GaudyMarko 3 years ago
No subtlety? What were you watching?
Besides, in Berserk it doesn't come across as contrived. Given the circumstances, it makes perfect sense that Casca would initially be hostile toward Guts, and that it would take forever for her to admit her feelings for him to herself and, finally, to him. It's true to the characters.
I'll take that over Generic Tsundere For No Reason Anime Chick #43 any day of the week.
hbi2k 3 years ago
and Hbi just gave us a the same fan ranting reasons that movie fans do about movies today.
and again I kinda agree but I have accepted one thing with said movies and with what Hbi just said: Its all for the business.
in this case Tsundere are popular in current anime and will liking eventually take second fiddle until coming back around eventually. because of this when the writers add in these characters alot of times they don't go deep into why so they come out Generic to save time.
Phatnick21 3 years ago
do u really think that ripping off you shirt to make a bandage is any more subtle than something like sleeping with someone to keep them from freezing to death, or jumping in front of flesh eating acid? Well anyways, I know I can't change the opinion of a fanboy so I'm glad u enjoyed that scene.
GaudyMarko 3 years ago
Umm... yes?
hbi2k 3 years ago
YES! YES!
Gindelbi 3 years ago
oh good...otherwise u'd be stupid
GaudyMarko 3 years ago
She seems pretty Tsundere to me at the beginning. I could never figure out what was pissing her off about Guts.
I understand that he's a Merc and killing some of the Hawks' buddies but what was up her bum? Is it that Griff has a thing for him? Is it because he's a loud, violent, and dirty fighter? Maybe I just missed something subtle and it sure wouldn't be the first time...
Cekil1 2 years ago
Thank you.
redbeast13 3 years ago
I think berserk is the only anime I have gotten so totely, how can I say, swallowd by, not one time watching it i went like "f'ck its getting boring where is the fastforward" or like, "I could have done taht better" or "yea here that comes and now that line and now he will do that". I watched it begining to middel and middel to end totely concentrated and I have rewatch it 2 times after that, and it alwys hits me how actully deep the series is even if you wouldent like it to be, it is on its own

chiissu 3 years ago
If you couldn't think of a way you could have worked that scene into an abridged moment, I have a few ideas.
1. If there was no shot of him being injured, they could comment on that. Did the would just appear out of nowhere? Was it psychosomatic?
2. Casca is trying to make Griffin Jealous, so she's talking really loudly about what she is doing.
3. Guts wonders if he's engaged now, and tries to remember if he read about cultures that do that, of if he just had a really weird dream about one.
