II've always loved this song and it always makes me a little sad. I'm crying as I'm writng this. My Mom died in November of 2008 just a few weeks before Thanksgiving and the Holidays have been pretty miserable for me ever since,especially Christmas. I always feel so alone at that time. It seems that everybody has a family to be with except me. This song reminds me of my childhood Christmases that were so full of love, happiness, and good times.

My best "memory" growing up was hearing this song in our household every Christmas. Mom had the 45 rpm, and would sing along. LOL, for a long time, I felt "special" with having "older brothers"...then the *next two* came along...LOL. My mom passed away in 2007, and certain times are still "rough". I have a new neice, and this'll be her "1st Christmas". I'd love to find a recording to send my brother for her !!!

I too am wiping tears..alot of them too! in 1981, when I was 16 I found myself with a brand new baby brother and my mother and grandmother would sing this at the tops of their lungs. My beloved grandmother passed away in 2003 and my mom passed away a little over 2 years ago. So hard. Anyway, to bring story full circle, today, my baby brother who is now 29, informed me that we will have a new baby in the family early 2011. Merry Christmas Mom and Mommy.
