It made no sense that Rainbird somehow survived the pyrokinetic attack from Charlie. I guess the creators were to lazy to think up another villian so they changed Charlie's past.

Oh, and those boys? Powers? So overrated -_- ...And what was with that horny kid who could control people's minds? Remember the scene where that one /nurse/ was speaking to the kid with the sunglasses?

At least in the first, it didn't seem as if /everyone/ had "special" abilities.

actually this movie is worth watching, even if it is just or the special effects. If the effects from this version of Firestarter where used in the original then the original would have been even more successful than it already is. BTW, anyone who critises this movie without watching it really needs their head looked at. Watch the movie and it will explain how rainbird was brought back etc

@Tempestras I hadnt' seen the original movie when this first came out so I liked it. I liked that it explained the past for those of us who hadn't seen the first movie or read the book, but I think the people who have seen the original probably wont like it. I get that way too about sequels to movies I loved, especially when the entire cast is different. So I can understand why loyalists of the original wouldn't like this movie. Makes me glad I saw this first so I could enjoy it.

Normally I'm one of the people who prefers the original (Grudge, The Ring etc) and I probably would if this was an actual remake. Instead, this is Charlie all grown up (and looking quite sexy too). All i was saying was that if the original would have had these special effects it would have been even more awesome, its already awesome as it is :)

well not that i dont agree with you but possibly she changed her hair color and used contacts to change her eye color. and rainbird was killed in the last one. the second one didnt follow the previous storyline, even if it was made 18 years after the first one came out, they could have made it folloqw the storyline, and used actual flashbacks from the real firestarter not some fake version of it.
