@MegaDiablo3 You don't need to pay for stuff in RoM necessarily to have fun. I went about 10 months without purchasing anything, and i still had a great time. You can still get mounts and stuff without using real world money, but they're not permanent. It's all a matter of what payment method you prefer, i suppose when it comes to price. I don't have a clue why, but i used to play WoW and have a good time, but now it's just sort of dull and lackluster to me. Hope you have fun anyways.

By now, I was just working my way after getting to level 85, to raise my item level to 359, then the ilvl cap turns out to be 379, and when I was getting there there is 397.... oh man give the people time, we NEED real lives other than spend a huge amount of hours per day playing. I like to play but it forces people to play insanely. So I quited it.

Ive played both WoW and RoM and in my opinion WoW is slightly better in some ways but i think the graphics in RoM are a little better and considering RoM is a free mmo with tons of costomization it is deffinitly worth playing. And if you were any good at WoW this game wont be very difficult to get used to
Runes of Magic is good game, with it's Dual class system it rocks! You can use 2 classes in one character which is very good. Like playing a Mage then the 2ndary class is a Priest then I can do Damage and still can Heal. The community is Friendly too and helpful.

Personally I'm not big on MMO's yet I've been interested in them lately. As such it's been a lot cheaper for me to play RoM for the last month ($0) compared to WoW.
Considering for $0 I've gotten ~40 hours of RoM gameplay compared to 0 hours of WoW gameplay, RoM is of better value (atm).
My opinion: RoM is basically a WoW clone with some unique features such as dual class systems (which when you get to higher levels you find are completely unbalanced). The PvP is also a little slow the graphics are nice, the game motor is novice, there are raids and the level cap is 55 I think.
WoW has a lvl 80 cap atm (and I say "atm" because they are probably going to make another expansion soon), a legendary game motor, beautiful graphics, pretty nice PvP, awesome raids, variaty of classes
the only thing RoM copied was graphics and interface. thats it. all of those gay little WoW fanboys hate RoM because it just looks similar, but if they'd take the time to pull those sticks out of their asses long enough to play RoM, they might like it.
where did wow get its ideas? wow isn't the first mmorpg there for it can not lay claim to everything thats in wow mmorpgs like RoM and new ones have as much right to the same things WoW and RoM are both great mmorpg's and will go forward for many years to come

Srsly WoW is good... But think... You pay 13 euros every month ---> 160euros per year + ALL Migrations, name change, race change, factions change etc... It will make it like 200-300 euros per year easily.
I would play RoM, its a great game and i absolutley worth playing 9/10 and if u get a little bored just stop playing it for some days and u are willing to do everything to satrt playing it again, but u only need to turn on ur computer :p and its free.

I say screw both. DDO has more than either could ever grasp at. It's got the D&D name, to start. Then add in the fact it's got loads of adventure areas (its just not DnD without dungeons is it?),Immersive stories beggining at startup (It hits you with story quicker than WoW does), realtime combat (Yay!!! Action!!! not glossed up turn based stuff like WoW and RoM) bad arse graphics (realistic elves?! yup.),and all the gear and legends you need + $0 cost. And, WoW and RoM are based on DnD.DDO wins
I never went back to WoW or started playing RoM but I did notice yesterday that DDO was free now and I put some thought into that as I began playing Allods which isn't bad but lately I have been playing HoN (Heroes of Newerth) and it kicks major ass!!!!
@skizr0b but see this: the exp is low BECAUSE there's only 20 levels. Those 20 levels take around the same amount of time to achieve as WoW's 80. Seeing the picture? WoW just added more levels and boosted exp gain, but it's practically the same thing. And DDO kinda cheats because it has ranks in levels that act as levels themselves (kinda). Going up a rank is like going up a level, and going up a level is a big power boost.
@AGamerVids I thuroughly played DDO and I got to say it sort of sucked to me.. I guess I'm just not into the graphics and playing type that it offers.

Dark Millenium has me interested. The fact you have to aim (hopefully) will add some much needed skill requirement. Like actual gaming skill, not skills you got from grinding on mobs.
@MisleadGuidance Haven't heard of that...but I have heard of Global Agenda. I got the free trial of it and liked it for a bit, but my computer isn't highly powerful, and my internet is kinda slow, so the preciseness needed to be any good eluded me. That and the missions are quite hard in the singleplayer zone, so you need to get a team usually...but on the whole it's cool. and only $30 with no subscription fees >:)

i tried Runes of magic and its pretty cool but the dungeon system is really bad and joining a battle ground is really hard and stupid in the sense that u will be lvl 28 and face a lvl 45.....i play wow now and they put in a new dungeoning system so now lvling is alot faster i got like from lvl 1 to like 40 in maby 15 hours of gameing so i say play wow its alot better............but u have to pay. paying for it is good because its worth it

I havent started playing Runes of Magic yet but am thinking on trying it out. I played WoW for 4 years but got honestly would rather a free game over one that you pay $15 a month for. Both look pretty much alike to me, i love how you can customize the characters tho on RoM. Have you tried it yet? If so tell me what u think.

Personally I'm not big on MMO's yet I've been interested in them lately. As such it's been a lot cheaper for me to play RoM for the last month ($0) compared to WoW.
Considering for $0 I've gotten ~40 hours of RoM gameplay compared to 0 hours of WoW gameplay, RoM is of better value (atm).
Also I'm a student, so money fucking matters.

My opinion: RoM is basically a WoW clone with some unique features such as dual class systems (which when you get to higher levels you find are completely unbalanced). The PvP is also a little slow the graphics are nice, the game motor is novice, there are raids and the level cap is 55 I think.
WoW has a lvl 80 cap atm (and I say "atm" because they are probably going to make another expansion soon), a legendary game motor, beautiful graphics, pretty nice PvP, awesome raids, variaty of classes

the only thing RoM copied was graphics and interface. thats it. all of those gay little WoW fanboys hate RoM because it just looks similar, but if they'd take the time to pull those sticks out of their asses long enough to play RoM, they might like it.

In my opinion RoM is better than WoW in many ways.
1. RoM is free to download and play, with WoW, $20 to buy the disk and $15 a month to play
2. The duel class system in RoM is amazing it's like nothing that you will find in any other MMORPG
3. WoW may have 10 different classes while RoM only has 8, but with the duel class system, RoM has 30 different class combinations
But if your 1 of those people that has no life besides games, then get WoW. But if you can only play 1 or 2 times a week, RoM

Honestly i play both WoW and RoM and i would say WoW if you are looking more for the interaction and PvP aspect, RoM if you are looking more for the player base type It just has things that WoW is lacking really

I like ROM more cause it's a clone of WOW but it's free and has "Dual Class System" wich is really fun. (In my opinion.)

Srsly WoW is good... But think... You pay 13 euros every month ---> 160euros per year + ALL Migrations, name change, race change, factions change etc... It will make it like 200-300 euros per year easily.

I would play RoM, its a great game and i absolutley worth playing 9/10 and if u get a little bored just stop playing it for some days and u are willing to do everything to satrt playing it again, but u only need to turn on ur computer :p and its free.
WoW are also a good game but its something in it who make me like RoM better, i would rate it 8/10

I say screw both. DDO has more than either could ever grasp at. It's got the D&D name, to start. Then add in the fact it's got loads of adventure areas (its just not DnD without dungeons is it?),Immersive stories beggining at startup (It hits you with story quicker than WoW does), realtime combat (Yay!!! Action!!! not glossed up turn based stuff like WoW and RoM) bad arse graphics (realistic elves?! yup.),and all the gear and legends you need + $0 cost. And, WoW and RoM are based on DnD.DDO wins

I never went back to WoW or started playing RoM but I did notice yesterday that DDO was free now and I put some thought into that as I began playing Allods which isn't bad but lately I have been playing HoN (Heroes of Newerth) and it kicks major ass!!!!

@skizr0b but see this: the exp is low BECAUSE there's only 20 levels. Those 20 levels take around the same amount of time to achieve as WoW's 80. Seeing the picture? WoW just added more levels and boosted exp gain, but it's practically the same thing. And DDO kinda cheats because it has ranks in levels that act as levels themselves (kinda). Going up a rank is like going up a level, and going up a level is a big power boost.

Dark Millenium has me interested. The fact you have to aim (hopefully) will add some much needed skill requirement. Like actual gaming skill, not skills you got from grinding on mobs.

@MisleadGuidance Haven't heard of that...but I have heard of Global Agenda. I got the free trial of it and liked it for a bit, but my computer isn't highly powerful, and my internet is kinda slow, so the preciseness needed to be any good eluded me. That and the missions are quite hard in the singleplayer zone, so you need to get a team usually...but on the whole it's cool. and only $30 with no subscription fees >:)

WoW started off as an RTS game first of all, not even an rpg. second, the makers of RoM were obviously aiming to make a WoW alternative and everyone knows it. they purposly made it look similar they didn't try to hide it. wow is better than RoM but that's because u pay so much for it. and dnd only has lvl 20 as a max for now, wow is 85. i played dnd when it was P2P and it was fun

The comment was written in a way fanboys of either game could understand, with their "U copied dis, dis wuz first!" commenting opinion style. DnD was first, so that shuts both sides up about who's copying who, cause they both use RPG stuff, which was established in DnD. If all they have to argue with is they were first, go further back in time :P So if you totally missed the point of that, you need to pay more attention.

i tried Runes of magic and its pretty cool but the dungeon system is really bad and joining a battle ground is really hard and stupid in the sense that u will be lvl 28 and face a lvl 45.....i play wow now and they put in a new dungeoning system so now lvling is alot faster i got like from lvl 1 to like 40 in maby 15 hours of gameing so i say play wow its alot better............but u have to pay. paying for it is good because its worth it

I havent started playing Runes of Magic yet but am thinking on trying it out. I played WoW for 4 years but got honestly would rather a free game over one that you pay $15 a month for. Both look pretty much alike to me, i love how you can customize the characters tho on RoM. Have you tried it yet? If so tell me what u think.

runes of magic is basically a cloned version of wow... but in many ways its better and in many ways its worse... Dual class system,free mounts ,epic quests monster book, these are all reasons its better but it only has 2 races it has 5 classes and many less monsters also its just like wow but with more... Action im not saying wow sucks, its a great game but rom is free and is more epic choose wichever one you want but i reccomend rom
