Most of the problem in insurance is mandated insurance provides a monopoly to big business. Just look at auto insurance rates in California; they tripled when the state said you have to have it. The same thing will happen with medical care. If everyone called and canceled all their insurance, the insurance companies would wake up real quick and we would not need national health care doled out by yet another federal agency.

no, it's not. the US is a Republic. "promote the general welfare" would be something like the FAA. "provide for the common defense" would be the military. the federal government is to protect us from enemies foreign and domestic, nothing more.
