The best thing to do is look at several different sources, take in as many perspectives as possible. You think MSNBC and Fox news are opposite sides? Check out what RussiaToday has to say about us. Russia has used nukes to stop oil spills five times on and off land at a depth of 1.5 kilometers. KP also notes that subterranean nuclear blasts were used as much as 169 times in the Soviet Union to accomplish fairly mundane tasks like creating underground storage spaces for gas or building canals. NUKES WILL WORK

The oil so far has been tested and found to have about twice the amount of background radiation. Not a lot, but the test sample was small and degraded. We do not know how radioactive the fresh oil actually is. Food for thought, really scary food...
