good video. i have the same laptop and i just install snow leopard 10.6.2. I was no surprise that it ran faster than windows 7. On normal settings i had almost 5hrs of battery life.

Though I admit this is true, I rarely use my laptop portably, and it I use it at school to dodge my school's $400 per year laptop levy. As it is quite powerful, I am able to play the latest games and use powerful apps, as well as use it at school, giving me an edge on the students who use the school's 1.6 Ghz Dual Core laptops with half a gig of ram and graphics cards with 64MB of dedicated memory.

sounds like what my school uses. Except ours are 1.7 ghz dual cores. But don't worry just incase there not slow enough they put Vista on them, so it takes a full 5-10 minutes before u can even log in to use them. lol

Actually, according to Notebookcheck Mobile Graphics Benchmark List, the 5870 is 5th, behind the GeForce 9800M GTX SLI, GeForce GTX 260M SLI, Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 and the Nividia GTX 280M SLI, the 1st on the list. Might want to rethink your opinions. However, as it has not been tested, it's only in its approximate benchmark position, so that might change.

thats a pretty obvious question, of course it wont work, youll have to use ethernet (the one you plug into the side) to get internet, unless you buy a router. I suggest buying one, their worth it.

i got the hp dv7 and its over heating like crazy its 8 months old tried the pressure air at the back got a tray with two fans to help but still and all i hear is that HP tech support is lousy and i have not called yet when i unplug the ac/dc cord the battery runs little over an hour maybe 1.5 hrs and its cooled enough

any ideas before i take it to pc shop and get ripped off

Pretty Much, bot not exactly, that would be Used. This is Refurbished. Basically what they did is someone didn't like it, so they returned it and something like an earpiece was missing, so they replaced it, but it cant be sold as new, so they sell refurbished. and its a steal.

Well i got the same laptop at a best buy in texas, like in february. it worked for abruptly a week, then it started getting boot up problems and software issues. and basically everything started giving problems. Mine came with a one year warranty (my mistake wuz not purchasing a longer warranty). yea at the moment its non responsive and im in school so i only use microsoft word and a few light games like halo. but yea. im taking it to repair next week again!!! its my 5th time getting it repaired

Scratches, No. Problems, None that havent gotten fixed easily or for free. and Overheat, Well yes but that has nothing to do with refurbished, just keep it well ventilated and you'll be fine. I also think that it is brand new =)

Umm all the games ive played on it so far have worked just fine, i play gears of war, call of duty world at war and call of duty 4 and halo2 vista, and they work with little to no lag, so basically any game will do.
