  • As a bass tech myself(not bragging I am merely qualifying my exp)MOST basses could stand a good fret leveling/polishing when bought new, add a good setup and the type of strings you prefer to use(gauge and style)and its all downhill from here.

  • Were you the guitar tech for the Partridge Family?

  • @BarneyFife00

    yes Mrs Partridge

  • Yeah, and not to mention the sanding marks he got on the fret board! Your a pro Davy.

    Jim

  • a good friend of mine owns a guitar shop.i play bass and in '95 i get a phone call to come look at what he just bought off a customer.he opens case n we're looking at a mint squier 1982 sunburst jazz with LARGE fender logo! i bought it on the spot not believing my luck.unfortunately the bass had been stored in a box in the loft for 13 yrs.result= totally warped, twisted un playable neck! broke my heart! all repairers said sorry cant be fixed.i sold it on to jap collector for big bucks tho :)

  • I my bass and its the same one like right there, but its a Squier Classic Vibe 60's bass (:

  • @legendsveil Mine is a Squier Classic Vibe 60's too, haha!

  • @skatermgee Awesome ! :D

  • Wow!! You're my new hero!!!

  • Hey im thinking qbout getting a ibanez sr305 and they all seem to have fret buzz and i was wondering what i could do to help fix the problem.....thanx!

  • @yamaha01216

    buy a Fender bass? :)

  • @yamaha01216 Buy a Good quality Ibanez Bass exemple Sr505 or a prestige and you will never have a problem like this

  • @yamaha01216 I have a 305 and yes, it is real buzzy. I spent a little more on a Schecter Diamond P Custom, and I'm now ready to make a trade for a Fender Squier.

  • omg i saw the expert village thing you were talking about!!!!

  • I have Ibanez SR605 and its an 2001. I have had it for 3 years and to my knowledge it has never had a refret. It has a hight spot on the "G" string at the 11th fret, can a just hammer the fret with this hammer or does the fretboard need to be sanded down?

  • @azfryguy

that is difficult to say without seeing it.

hammering it without a proper fret hammer is not a good idea

  • @davey4557 what if i had the correct type of hammer?

  • @azfryguy

when you hit the fret you ruin the crown

    it's your bass :)

  • Great video! Thanks

  • can you do a video on changing pickups or something? thanks!

  • @nathanarsenalthomas5

    in what type of guitar?

  • @davey4557 on a bass guitar?

  • @nathanarsenalthomas5

you mean like the soldering and removal and all that?

    I can try

    Cheers !!!

  • @davey4557 haha yeah man! all that kinda stuff!! thanks a lot man! :D

  • Hello Dave I was wondering if you could tell me what size Fret would you recommend for replaceing on a Gibson Victory Artist bass, I was thinking of going with the Stew mac Wide-Pyramid fret, this bass I bought needs a total refret, and Im going to have it refinished. If you have any recomendations on the fret size . Thanks alot

  • @GuitarFever73

you have to pull a fret, measure it then match the wire

    it ain't easy

but has to happen to match the wire

  • The guy on that link is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow my squier has this problem too

  • @vectron12

    well fix er up

  • Hey, Buddy

That Squier P Bass was really nice! I bought my son a Squier standard Strat a few years back and I actually prefer the sound if it to my Highway One. Anyway, I'm glad I found you on YouTube cuz I've wanted to learn more about guitar repair and setup, and you're a nut and fun to watch, on top of knowing what you're doing in that regard.

  • @BadChizzle

    Thanks for the comments

    Cheers !!

    Dave

  • merry christmas and happy new year davey that was a pretty bass

  • @Bassist1945

    hey

you have a great holiday and keep playing

if you lived closer i could give you lessons

    Cheers !!

    Peace !!!

  • @davey4557 I would love to get some lessons from you :)

  • more nice work merry x mas bro

  • @billy2463

Hope to see you next week !

  • Hey Dave, thanks for the repair. Honestly I gotta say, you are the best repairman out there because you are being yourself when repairing, unlike those goofs at Long and Mcquade who have 100 guitars to fix and all they do to yours is mess up on it because they are under so much stress.

  • @skatermgee

    Thanks man

    Cheers !!!

  • yeah i trust you way more than that clown from amateur village there.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana

That fuker makes me shit my pants. where the fuk did they get him

  • @davey4557 the super retard farm, they breed them there, nother piggy video coming up :B

  • How do you like the squires Dave, I've always wanted a P bass and they're the right price.

  • @ArielsSmartyPants

This seemed to be OK. Other then the minor fret problem (that can happen to any instrument) it played quite well. The neck seemed to be a tiny touch wider than my vintage P bass up in the higher area of the neck. Cheers !!!
