that could have actually happened after all shannen left because of the fued with alyssa but and i the beginning shannen tryed out for the part of piper not prue and hollie tryed for prue if they had got the parts they went for the show would have been totally different and possibly lasted longer and think what would happen if lori stayed on then there would have been no feud therefore prue would be alive and there would be no paige and the show would have been soo different

As much as I love Rose McGowan, I would still like to have seen Shannen Doherty do all eight seasons. Do you think the fact that Shannen might leave, led them to introduce the whole "There mother had an affair with her whitelighter, Sam." episode in season two? That was over a year before Shannen left, but it made the long-lost half sister thing more believable when they introduced Paige. It was a great buildup.

The official reason for Shannen's leaving was "to pursue other oportunities," but like the writer of this article pointed out "I seriously doubt Shannen left a successful series like 'Charmed' to host 'Scare Tactics,'"(which you will remember was the next thing she die.) shannon already made plans to leave in season 2. but her contract was locked in for 3 seasons. as u kno she had troubles with co -star alyssa milano. but she had already made plans to leave in season 2. they had a lot of backstage drama. shannon would of stayed on charmed if alyssa had resigned. but alyssa wasn;t going to back out becuase she loved working on set. she shannon left instead.

I agree. Piper was always my favorite. If you remember, Piper did die originally until they turned back time. I wonder if they knew Shannen was leaving when they shot her final episode. Does anyone know. After the season finale, it could have gone either way.

From what I have heard, they did. I'm not sure about this, as I haven't watched the episode in a long time, but I heard she actually directed All Hell Breaks Loose, which was supposed to be the last episode with her.

This may explain why Phoebe is only in a few scenes of the episode.

They knew Shannon's contract was being terminated after that season that is why Piper's powers advanced around that time....to give the sisters a solid offensive power after Prue dies.

And I don't know if any of you watch Charmed on lining tv, but you may have noticed that until recently they were not able to show seasons 1,2 and 3, but the reason was to do with Shannen, it was something along the lines of if they showed episodes with her in they had to pay her a large ammount of money it's not until recently that this is not the case.

In my opinion, Piper and Phoebe are the best sisters. x
