just got the first book it's great. amazing how it has over 100 volumes its sad about the authors death though. i hoe the main story was completed.

Yet anyways i wish the twins where wearing the leather garbs this just makes them look odd. The books illustrations remind me of berserk and even though berserk came out first anime wise it seems it payed omage to this series in many respects.

Wikipedia sai the later volumes had yuri and yoai themes wut?

You know, aside from the epic scale, the decent fights, and jaguar man with sword, Guin Saga wasn't very good. Has a lot of shallow, one-dimensional, boring characters, and an ass-load of secondary characters who give nothing to the plot. Really this wasn't a very good adaptation even if it was canonical. The worst part was when there was a giant war going on, and all we got to see was a few soldiers marching and generals receiving reports of the battles progress.

Was actually a pretty dramatic show for being abridged and all that. Typically all that stuff is lost in the sake of comedy. Though there were comedic elements, it still felt tense and thrilling.

@ReikoSpazz Didn't everything feel like a bad soap opera after the Battle of Nosferatu. I know all those mysteries should be elaborated on later in the books, but they could have made the Chekhov's gun that Guin gets embedded in his hand make a little more sense. I mean why was it just in a big slab of rock salt on the side of road? It convinced that Lagon that he was some kind of god and repelled the Xenomorph thing, but it was just something he found lying on the ground and put in his pocket!
