It is surely the fine music that Jay is missing now. Tweedy has all the great melodies but none of the dark twist that made the band so great. Still see em both every chance I get.
@6eeyore9 Dude and or dude ette did you not read what I wrote? "Still see them both every chance I get" I am from Missouri I have seen Jay like twice and Son Volt in it various incarnations 4 or 5 times. I have managed about 6 of the Wilco shows. Jay is stuck in a rut. Its a great rut to be in but ...
Lucky to see them twice in Edinburgh '93, highlight being an a cappella version of Sin City. Such raw talent. Still have my 7" vinyl copies of "I Got Drunk" and "Sauget Wind"
@snifnscratch well yeah that sounds great, but how do you sing and play harmonica at the same time? oh you play the harmonica with your asshole, Neil Young is talented, but don't be stoopid.
I saw UT at the Mean Fiddler in Harlesden in London UK in the early 90's...fookin' awesome..I think that was their only UK visit !!...great band !!.. DJ HILLFUNK
The guy soloing looks like Brian Hennamen who is now in the Bottlerockets. He was friends with UT before they got signed. Yea, he's a total ''ham'' and never fit UT's vibe. The guy on the drum kit looks like Bill Bailey who replaced original drummer Mike Heidorn. Bailey only lasted a couple months and was replaced by the Ken Coomer.
Hennamen actually played with them on this song on the LP "March 16-20". He's been friends with UT since the late 80's. Henneman's band would often open for UT.

I`d have to say neil young was more skilled - he could sing whilst playing guitar and harmonica, all at the same time. Now thats talent !!!!!!!!
