  • Hey, Myslot2.......SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • I hate when people who criticise the chinese like this when theres much worse parents in the west when they too push their children sooo hard, its fucking racist and double standards, this shit has got to stop, i feel like shooting people like cho did.

  • that kid is a running fool

  • she was just running...lol.

  • i would "abuse" my child than letting them become obese couch potato

  • we do translation and you can select Asian women lushfmlk.info

  • I hope she gets new shoes often ^^, og I can't understand the translator, he has a strong accent... What did he say she was what after running 30 kilometers??

  • @EmilMaltha I believe she said..."I like running, it makes me happy" with a massive grin on her face.

  • @AlexZanda I've run a lot in my life and I've known some pretty obsessive runners. They say things like that and then they get hurt from running too much. 40 miles a day is not reasonable mileage for an eight year old. If the kid says otherwise, a good parent would intervene. Bad things happen from running that much when that young.

For a good reference point, a respectable high school CC runner puts in <58 miles a week.

  • @NoOne3234 Sure, I used to run 15miles everyday as a teenager and my legs are bent now...I have now had to become a Charley Chaplin impersonator just to make ends meet..I also do a good John Wayne. You're right though 40miles a day may harm her physically but I bet she benefits massively from these early adventures..financially and mentally and in many way physically and mentally as well as financially....probably!

  • I hope she gets new shoes often ^^

  • "people" do ANYTHING to talk down China. Keep trying, child abuse? my back side.

  • @user2150 It's the CHINESE "PEOPLE" themselves that are talking down this father. Watch the video.

  • i seriously can't see this a child abuse at all...

a child who likes to run (exercise) and run for a very long distance in 55 days...is considered abuse? lol....then a lot of children in Canada or US is getting abuse everyday...PE teachers making them do what they don't like or even fail them for not obeying

  • its not child abuse, obviously, the girl wants to run!

  • Comment removed

  • I am Chinese,I dont support this.

8 years old doesnt know much! She just follow her father's order.

    But anyway well done Zhang!

  • Remember Forest?, Forest Gump? He always wanted to run also. Nobody said that was child abuse. LOL

  • LOL. run forrest! run!!!

  • I guess the Chinese have to excercise more to counter the negative effects of their smog-ridden cities.

  • US parents let their kids to eat in the big yellow "M" restaurant~...

Now THAT'S child abuse my friends!

  • Whoops I typed in Chinese spelling incorrectly below.Sorry about that :0

  • I am a white 4th generation American and I hope that Chinies girl wins in an Olympic gold medal.God knows she sure will have earned it training so long an hard.

  • Probably the West is too scared that China will be very victorious in the 2008 Olympics so they keep saying it's child abuse. Her father never forced her to run it's because she wanted to run.

  • If this is child abuse then what do you call what we have in America these days? Totally out of shape kids from broken homes being served fast food every night for dinner.Only see there father every other week end. That's abuse!

  • @thai1959 the child looks like a stick figure!!! and i bet you are a big fat pig!

  • Child abuse? Now maybe if her parents were forcing her to run or were following her with a whip and beating her if she stopped. The media is lame.

  • Zhang Huimin is a healthy child of 8. How can U force a sick child to run? Further more she likes running and not showing off. Well done!Zhang Huimin.

  • Yea, I agree with peoplewho say this in not child abuse.. I am an American living in China.. And to me, this girl just seems to be an example of an amazing athleat.. Hopefully there will be no negative effects.. But like so many other people have said.. Letting your kids be lazy has many more negatives.. Shes special.. and there will be a place for her in the sport of long distance running.

  • The world is yours, as well as ours, but in the last analysis, it is yours. You young people, full of vigour and vitality, are in the bloom of life, like the sun at eight or nine in the morning. Our hope is placed on you.....The world belongs to you. China's Future belongs to you.-Mao TseTung

  • if she likes it...

  • she's 8 and she runs one and a half marathon each day! i can understand that she likes running but that's just too much even for an adult, look at how skinny she is! this is child abuse in its most glorified form, and because it's for the "motherland" u can get away with it!

  • dear friend, i totally undertand what you are saying. and i agree your idea in some way. yes, if i was the father of that girl, i will take her to hospital and help her to do body-check every week. health is everything!!

  • thank u, and i just don't understand why people think it's a good thing, the distance that she's run is too extreme and would put her body under too much stress, mind u that she's prepubescent, she's still got a life ahead of her

  • Everthing has gotten so turned back words in the west these days.A 8 years who loves to run is doing it.That's child abuse but you can't even spank your own child to teach them diligents and respect in our own countries.Just spoil them and let them get fat and lazy and no resepct. This is hog wash.Run your heart out young lady. You won't be able to do that at 40 so enjoy.Hope you win too.

  • this girl CLEARLY loves what she is doing. i don't understand how on earth did they conclude this is child abuse?!

  • Cute kid. I'm sure, when she's a adult, she'll be very proud to look back on her accomplishment. As long as she's not being given performance enhancing drugs, I don't see any problem.

  • Child abuse is letting your child sit on the couch eating Doritos and Candy, not running!

  • this girl just like running, and she wants to show her best wishes to her motherland. that's it!!! gosh, you guys want use everything, everything!!! to humiliate China. if you wanna know real China, you are most welcome to come here. China is not north korea, you can go everywhere you want and see whatever true. then, you can give correct judgment, no matter good or bad!!

  • I just mentioned Zhang Huimin to someone and her reply was... "Ah ? Forrest Gump !" - LOL !!!!

  • everytime a child does something amazing its child abuse

i remember a indian boy who ran just like her having his father acused af abuse its silly

  • It is cheap media news. Waste of time.

  • Wow. She is awesome !!! Hao ! Hao ! Hao !!

Child abuse ??? It seems that the only thing that could be called abuse here is the journalism.

She's just wiped the floor with the best of the world's adult athletes and she's happy and excited.

It's not child abuse... It's parent abuse... Her poor Dad having to sit on that bike all day... hehehe.

Give them both a medal and tell the media that they are abusing us with such transparent lies !!!

  • My previous comment wasn't necessarily directed at this news report - I think they were reasonably unbiased... I'm referring to those 'critics' among the other journalists.

  • Which is more likely from an 8 year old girl?

Manipulation of the world's media (given the opportunity)?

    - or -

A statement that she likes running?

Her actions and words say it all. I've seen videos of Chinese children crying and hating their exercise regime, but sticking with it for the sake of the country. Jang Hway-min clearly does enjoy running, just look at the skipping as she runs.

  • The videos you speak of are true for girls in Russia and USA etc training hard for gymnastics too, not just limited to China. As for what the child says just yesterday here in Toronto child services took away a 7 year old from his family purely on the basis of him saying he doesnt want to be with his parents. Are we being selective in deciding weather the child speaks the truth or not?

  • When people can't recognize happiness in a child, they need to put a sock in it and worry about themselves a whole lot more.

  • Adorable girl, if her health isn't suffering I don't see the problem?

  • The father should be given a medal for his devotion and enormous imput...I'd rather have gone through that as a kid, than as an over-fed, under-exercised, un-disciplined person, I turned out to be...

  • Child Abuse give me a Break.Go get another bone to shew on...

  • Damn....

  • She just done 3.5kkm (2188 miles) and she doesn't even look slightly tired. I'm Chinese and even me find it weird.

  • she looks pretty damn good

    looks healthy

    able to speak and smile

    Father keeps wathching her

Others should maybe take some clues from this
