  • In the "billions" ???????

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe after you give this Programming is NOT as scary of a task as you might imagine.

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Programming is NOT as scary of a task as you might imagine. I know some people who shudder at the thought of learning any programming language

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing Programming is NOT as scary of a task as you might imagine. I know some people who shudder at the thought of learning any programming language.

  • after i watched this video Programming is NOT as scary of a task as you might imagine. I know some people who shudder at the thought of learning any programming language, my insight is very open because the video is very good to give information

  • Nice video. To know a subject one has to know the history of the subject, Neil Postman says. One should definitely know the history of programming.

  • A touch of Woody Allen, and married I thought you were about 12, anyway very good vid and I will take your advice and follow you further.

  • omg he made te commador 20 and 64!

  • @ballplus12 commadore

  • go iowa

  • Dude the fuck was that at the end with the Sparta thing, everyone's asleep. God. aha.

  • @YouLiamTube thanks for the warning :D

  • Sigh.... I wish I was 18 again and would have stayed in my computer classes in college. Now I'm 29 and I feel to f***ing old to go to back to school and become a programmer :'(

  • @ZR1Terror It's extremely easy to teach oneself programming. Just pick a language, get some books, and write some code.

  • You have a wife? LOL

  • Minecraft = made by a dooshbag whos gonna run away with his money

  • @MrRatermat

    Fck u

  • @pufixas lol, like i care?

  • i hate fuckin latin for me is was easier to learn c++, english and italian that to learn latin i hate that shit lol

  • who made macintosh? hahaha

  • I want to set up a computer lab for programming and hacking...wat are some the software and tools, equipments i need.please reply

  • yea women eh...logic does not bide with them....LOL just j/k

  • Msg("Hello Chris! I'm a complete n00b in all aspects of programming. Can you tell me which programming language is best to start learning for someone that has no experience at all in computer programming? Thanks!")

  • @PH5221

C++, Start hard, then learn easier languages such as C#.

  • @mphello "Programming consists of hours and hours (per day), extending into months and year, hunting down and looking for a single command before one can proceed to the next step."

Maybe, if you are unable to break down problems and come up with algorithms for yourself. And can't research your APIs well enough to know what commands to use.

You must be pretty lucky to have held programming jobs if your work process really is as slow as you describe it.

  • @purfixas

That's what I said, lol. How can one actually code if they don't actually know what they're doing? Kinda like memorizing a few foreign language phrases - I know how to say them, but I don't really get what they mean. Same applies to coding.

  • I love it when this guy speaks about subjects he doesn't know about. But to his credit, unlike the for the question about Free Software he actually prepared himself this time.

  • The trick to programming? Don't just watch the tutorials and memorize the code they are writing - learn how to understand what that code means.

    For example,

    cout << "Choose a name" << endl;

That basically says....Display the text, "Choose a name", on the screen. Then, end this particular line of code.

It's all about pseudo code, man.

  • @ThuSkyline

    :DD

This will work until you come to array's, pointers, classes and memory addresses...

You need to know WHAT you are doing... and not what that line of code means...

  • @SaberOtaku high thumbs up

  • HTML is easy but do many people want to learn it?

  • @MattNow14 ^Lawl.

  • @hmichaelt basic is where everyone starts off

  • i used to no html without even knowing it i got so bored of boring myspace pages so made my own style and people were like how did u did that myspace came and went and discarded html

  • to become a truly good programmer you really have to enjoy your time doing it. think, eat, sleep, drink and make hot sweaty love to your code. better stock up on lube.

  • if you're not using C and/or assembly, you're failing. i'm in the middle of writing a x86 PC emulator in C. so far it boots DOS, plays a ton of old DOS games, and even runs Windows 3.0!

i first started toying with the emulator concepts in FreeBASIC because it's a good "scratchpad" of sorts for programming ideas. once i saw that it was basically working i decided to re-do it and go further using C. it's literally 8 times faster.

  • @SaberOtaku just made $100 million

  • Fuckk basic.

  • U wanna make a game look up unity

  • @Residentevilfan500 Unity isnt hat good

  • @SaberOtaku No not made by one man lol ıts made by about 5

  • @thecomputernerd233 it was made by 1 guy before..

  • You can program a browser with ANY and I repeat ANY general purpose programming language, not just C#. Is this a microsoft commercial or what?

Java serves the purpose too. You can even program your own operating fucking system with it. And this time it's easier said than done

  • @Mi2990 Man, that's a lot of studying! Just buy Live or Cubase or Protools and find some tutorials on the internet, find a course where you live and get started. It's easier done than said. Most software programs are user-friendly, but you don't have to know how to code to record a guitar or sample a drum loop. Cheers

  • @SaberOtaku it's made by Mojang. it's a small company. yes it started by 1 man but it's been a group effort for a long time.

  • best timing of Video.End(); EVER

  • @SaberOtaku Yea ur right, did you know that Notch made Mincraft with a 2D engine yet the gme is fully 3D?! :)

  • Wow, this guy has a wife

  • does computer programming has anything to do with creating music??? and if so can i bcome a music producer if i have a software engineering degree?

  • my frist scrip was "joel is a badass"

  • if I make a game on a software, can I save the game design and load it in a different software, a better one? I want to get into game programming. and what is the best software to build games today? I want my ragdoll to fight like Ninja Gadden. I know I miss spelled that. and how many softwares can I use to make one game? thanks for the help.

  • @SaberOtaku from my country, sweden!

  • spartaaaaaaaaaa

  • Javascript is the language that powers the internet. Extensions like AJAX and JSON are part of the original specs that were exploited to create some of the powerful 'cloud' technology we're seeing today. Some people think it's even an elegant language. Go figure.

  • Thanks for this video! I'm definitely interested in learning more about programming. I'm totally green, but my cousin and her bf are web designers! Computers are super nice these days, and I do have that curiosity about them!

  • @SaberOtaku It is a shitty language for game development. It is very good at doing what its meant to do, and games is not it.

  • what the FUCK was that ending lol!

  • @SaberOtaku also in a shitty language, which makes it even more of a success story

  • @SaberOtaku dood i'm playing minecraft right now :D

  • Oh, and we created a short, text game. I know the verrrry basics of programming, I use ECLIPSE. I programmed my name, and a couple other simple things. But in our game we got money and bitches lol :D

  • Hey everyone! My sister's friend recently got me into programming, but I've only just scratched the surface! I know ASCII language, and I think C++. I've got Octa and decimal and hex down, but he left me with a java program to help me. This is something that could be the rest of my life! If anyone want to help learn me, reply to this or pm me! Thanks!

  • I'm starting out with python.

  • If anyone wants to team up and learn java with me, pm me your skype!

  • Becoming a proper programmer nowadays requires at least a 4 year study...

  • i wanna be a prog like u i need help plz from any one

  • @papayaw12 I'm an .NET programmer, whats the problem?

  • @Agust1337 haha hi agust :D

    Agust and I are pros in C# , VB , HTML , C++ :D

  • i jus wanna be a computer programmer lyke but i dnt know show am jus a newbie with much ssss need ur help!! plszzz

  • Fuck you ads.

  • @SaberOtaku MINECRAFT RULES 24.165.40.141:25565 is my server

  • I'm just an everyday computer, who just wants to learn C++.. and every C++ tutorial I've seen, they have used computer language as if I already knew what it meant. Does this mean I should be learning something about computers before learning a language?

  • @mphello sorry to say it, but you sound like a code monkey. If you are typing this and that until you find the right commands, you don't actually understand programming. Most programming problems are easy to solve once you get it right in one language. I'd say math is more time-intensive, with all the rigorous proofs you have to write to state certain solutions.

  • Pirillo you don't know about programming

  • Programming consists of hours and hours (per day), extending into months and year, hunting down and looking for a single command before one can proceed to the next step. I know. I've programmed in Fortran, C++, Java, Mathematics (Wolfram Research), Maple (MapleSoft), and Mathtype. 99.99% of my programming is in MS Word and Mathtype.

Math is infinitely better than programming.

  • Nothing practical can be done with computers (personally or in a private business). The internet is made mostly for porn (ok, ok -- entertainment).

Only a massive collective government-led project has sufficient critical mass to do anything practical with computers.

That's because programming is a TOTAL fuck.

  • @mphello Tell that to schools, libraries, scientists, engineers, many businesses (from small to large), military divisions and government agencies that use computers to get work done. Many of these people and organizations depend heavily on computers, and just because you do not like programming doesn't mean that it's impractical. People who hate math say the same thing about math, but are they right? I don't get why people who don't understand something think it's useless.

  • @SDenny100 Tell that to the persistent fanatic global warming deniers who repeatedly say that math and computer models are useless and wrong. They are the ones who need to be educated that math and computer models are INFINITELY superior to all the bullshit human natural language - not me.

Math theorems and computer models ARE practical - but only in a massive collective effort.

Oh, wait. I already said this. Why weren't you listening?

  • @mphello Computers aren't just useful on a large/collective scale. Everyday appliances (eg. washing machines), the copy shop down the street and other run-of-the-mill groups use computers to manage their affairs. Also, your comment about the Internet, though having some merit (most people I know use it for porn, Facebook or Youtube) needs some revision, because from a personal standpoint, the Internet has been really valuable for getting information. I'm sorry if I misunderstood.

  • @SDenny100 I did NOT mean to suggest that using the internet for porn was a bad thing. In fact, I think that is a very GOOD thing. It's an excellent alternative /outlet to unwanted pregnancies and aggression towards women.

  • @mphello I agree.

  • @mphello Private business have used computers to cut down time for statistical work. A computer is as practical as its user makes it out to be.

What you mean to say really is... personal and private use of computers have some little practical benefit, but that benefit increases exponentially when they are used for a very large collaborative project.

  • @ZeroDominance Yes! Spoken better than I could have.

  • The man had a point !

  • Minecraft = made by Swedish guy!!

    Sweden rule ;DD

  • @Luxzz Facebook = Made by an American, YouTube = Made by American, eBay = Made by American,

Well i think America rules ;)

  • @bigcasey1995 fuck u

  • @baseball2662 Don't be mad be GLADDD :D

  • @bigcasey1995 hehe you forgot the internet ans the WWW

  • omg you sound and look like the stereotype of white and nerdy., you're so cool, im not being sarcastic.

  • hi i just joined the BS in Software engineering at University of Karachi any advice 4 me?

  • @VValid1991 karachi blows, Invasion is better

  • @zachy180zz what the hell u are not grown up yet!

  • @VValid1991 what lol, do you get the reference?

  • COULD SOMEONE TELL THIS STUPID SHIT TO MOVE ON TO THE MATERIAL AND SPEND LESS TIME TELLING EVERYBODY HE'S A GEEK.........WHO THE FUCK CARES.........I HAD TO SIT THROUGH A GOD DAMN WHEAT THINS COMMERCIAL FOR THIS AND ITS WORTHLESS...........GOD DAMN IT........

  • @whothehellgivesadamn - that's funny! lol

  • @SaberOtaku Minecraft ftw :D

  • youtube.com/watch?v=TROnlvorhDs programming will be easy in the future.

  • @grimripah there is still a chance. If your making programs start with batch if your making programs then vbs. for games start with javascript, C#,C++,LUA,python and then Boo script.

  • as helpful as this video was... the end was just plain gay... my ears hurt because of the fucking shoutout... PEOPLE ARE WEARING HEADPHONES!

  • turbopascal is good for start

  • that was funny at the end when he went "DOT SPUDAHHHH" or something like that LOL :-D

  • @CountSidius he said DOT SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!

  • @vivalavidasudden ah well, close enough LOL :-D

  • @SaberOtaku super success and all he used was java scripting language

  • @StopMotionMania100 Double Super Success, He figured out java from learning from the commodore 64.

  • Thanks for posting this! I've been trying to get started with programming and have been looking for some direction. This has been a huge help. It's amazing how hard it is to find practical answers for getting started in this field.

  • thumbs up if you hate ads

  • Pick your level:

    Assembly -> C -> C++ -> Java -> C# (or VB.NET) -> Python

...and HTML, VBScript, and Batch doesn't count.

  • Html does not use logical structures or _procedures_ to perform tasks. Instead it has embedded commands to mark up text. It does, however, form the structural tree that languages like JavaScript traverse i.e. the DOM.

  • They are a middle ground to machine code i.e. binary code which is a base 2 system of simple on and off's. Just because it's a middle ground doesn't make it easy by any stretch. If you don't know the basics of say an object oriented programming language-Classes, functions, strings, operators, templates, namespaces etc. etc. you're NEVER going to understand how to program. There's no magic here just hard work and study. It's not something most people know, you either know it or you don't

  • @longhairsRcool PART 2; I'd say it's like math in the sense that subjects like Algebra, Calculus etc. you either know them or you don't due to lack of study. You don't need to be a math genius to understand programming. I do however think it helps people's IQ'S ... After all Ken Jennings from Jeopardy was a software engineer best as I know.

  • is there any program or something that can help me learn to write a program/ test the source code to make sure it wont crash my PC?

  • i Programming in the easeast language ...... QBASIC

  • patience is everything when it comes to programming. Ive been working on a project for 1 year now and still I'm not near to being done with the project. 1 person programming sux

  • I learn high level language first java/AS3 then PHP then C++ ..

  • I remember reading books on BASIC,C++,Perl, etc. Doing the whole hello program. Its really boring if you go step by step. The best way to learn is analyze and play around with software programs. While learning how to read the language. And then play around with writing the language.

  • If you want to know browser/html programing then

w3schools(.)com is a good site, has stuff like java, javascript, VB, TCP/IP

it's how i started off my programming, now I do XNA programming with C#

so if you're interested in those ^^ try that site :P

  • @tedtheking6969 i also forgot it does server programing too like PHP ect

  • How is math involved in programmimg and what kind of math is used?

  • @delacerdaa I would of thought that whatever applied to Cryptology would be your ticket.

  • @delacerdaa Matrices, alot of em. Algebra, and differential equations.

  • I kno ABC

  • How I envy people who live in tech savvy countries. I live in a 3rd world country where buying or owning a computer would be the last thing on your mind. I envy these kids that know how to make programs. I've always wanted to know how to make those. I just don't know where to start. Heck, I don't even know the terms and names. Is there still a chance for me to learn? If so, where do I start? :]

  • @grimripah

Can you even get a second hand one from a resource center or something?

  • @grimripah

Youre people are inferior. Give it up.

  • @grimripah Get a book, also have an idea on what you want to work with? Is it games, softwares, etc. Read a bit each day about the lanuage say an hour or two each day and spend some time testing on your own. It all comes down to if you have the courage and patience. Also you will need to want to learn the lanuage, don't just start to learn the program because your friends told you too.

  • @grimripah hey dumb ass your on a computer

  • @grimripah there is still a chance. If your making programs start with batch if your making programs then vbs. for games start with javascript, C#,C++,LUA,python and then Boo script.

  • @grimripah

you can look up stanford computer programming lectures or MIT programming lectures and download JAVA or python so you can practice.

  • @grimripah I recommend you start in Python. it's a pretty simple language and there's alot of very good documentation on the main site.

btw i dont know alot of kids who know how to make programs..

  • @grimripah Well stop lying and either change your country on your youtube page or actually tell us you live in the USA..

  • @grimripah How much access to resources such as the internet and books? Those are starting points. There are videos and websites to start off of and even beginner's book. I remember even starting out on website programming HTML back in the 90s. I looked for websites that has tutorials. If you can't get the books yourself, perhaps if you network with someone from another country who is willing to donate a book to you or otherwise... It would be worth a try!

  • @grimripah I am from a 3rd world country myself and I don't only envy those kids who have it, but I hate those who don't even use it. I know that even if I become a good programmer I'm gonna end up being a taxi driver. Since in my country they don't even care for speaking English. They only care for football. Darn it.

  • @chaconmcfly Being a taxi driver is a noble profession. Yes, being a computer programmer is a noble profession, too. I do not feel the need to insult one profession while I elevate another.

However, being a taxi driver is a lot less stressful than being a computer programmer.

It is impossible to do practically do anything with computers, besides surf the internet.

Also, be proud! You are NOT in a "3rd" world country! There is no such thing. You are in a country!

  • @mphello Humans are competitive beings. We have to always look up to get titles that improve our life styles and self confidence otherwise we're going to end up frustraded due to the lack of accomplishment & limited options, In life if we aren't willing to become better, then we should be ready to one day realise that we are easily replaceable, which will lead to several mind conflicts. If you ever come to my "country" you'll realise what I am saying. That is why someday I am moving out of here

  • @chaconmcfly Would you mind telling us where you live? I can understand if you need to keep it secret for security reasons.

  • @mphello Don't mind at all, Look I understand what you are saying, Sometimes people keep thinking about what we want and forget what we have, that is pretty and poetic, but that doesn't mean we are suppose to stay who we are if you aren't satisfied, That means that we have to accept what we have and who we are, and value it. But also remember that the oportunities are there and they don't go to waste, somebody else takes them if you don't. AndI want my chance, because I'll take it.

  • @grimripah

try the MIT 6.00 introduction to coputer science very useful you can watch in youtube

  • @grimripah search recommended books in google about the programming language you want to learn. Research online what program you want to learn. I recommend you to learn c++. So search about what language you want to learn. Then search for some recommended books to learn it. Then if possible buy a book about it or download an ebook for free. Start learning from there.

  • @grimripah You know what's really funny and pathetic about your "3rd world country comment"? If you go to your profile, it says you're from the US and you live in California. You also have uploads of you playing Minecraft, showing you can afford games, and your English is pretty damn good. Asshole

  • @TheObsta96 i get your comment to grimripa but English being pretty good shouldn't be an arguement...i speak very, in fact extremely good English and I live in Ghana, west Africa. we were colonised by Britain just like Americans, so we speak good English. a country being 3rd world doesn't mean it's population is monkeys, thank you.

  • @grimripah There is a chance to learn no matter what sort of environment you live in. First you need to figure out what type of programming you want to know like writing code for a game or creating a functional and interactive website. Then you need to find a suitable role model in that area of programming, try and pull up research on how they became what they are now. Then try doing that and researching as much as you can in programming, so basically watching videos like these and viewing blogs

  • You have a wife????

  • looking 4 computer engineers, hit me up

  • lol. i had a vic 20 without a cassette player. you had to leave it on if you didn't want to lose your program! lol

  • 10:38

    Video.End();

  • GOD! YOUR VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:01 to skip add

  • I always wanted to program, I love PC Hardware but I never went beyond the fundamentals through A+ Hardware and Software. I think the number one challenge I will face is the patience involved, but other than that, it should be a piece of cake.

  • So...by that being said. You really think that theres another 'Facebook' like company soon to come..???

  • 06:21 caa1000 is a retard! RPG? That's a freakin type of game!!! Next he's gonna ask about the PC Language!

  • @buildingmovies Actually, RPG is a programming language made mostly for business applications. It stands for Report Program Generator. The reason why he mentioned it is because it's a program based on punch cards used by computers the size of a room - long story short, it's a joke.

  • web browser can be make by a chimpanzees with Visual studio, it's only need few line of code..i'd like a chids making a serious program....

  • Also for the noobs out there, learn to use eclipse, pretty much the industry standard.

  • @blazinhomo

    never heard of it QQ

  • is it really possible for a person to learn all languages? c, c++, java, c#, html, php, python, cobol, ajax, pearl, and more and more....... i wonder, averagely, how many languages an expert programmer know.

  • @rax7 You can easily pick up a language when you learn the syntax. Most languages translate well, with basic functions built in like IF, WHILE, ELSE; however when working with data structures, although the idea is the same, implementation may be different.

  • @rax7

lol yea its easy! its just taking time, i learned C/C++,Perl,Python,HTML,PHP,SQL and a bit javascript with ajax and jquery in 3 years

  • Here's a tip for you amateur programmers who think you know ****. CS is a lot of mathematics, algorthim analysis, efficiency (BIG O), data structures, and etc. You can't pick up a book and expect to be a master of programming.

  • @blazinhomo I'm afraid that's true ..

  • Any recommendations for an aspiring web developer. I have good SQL skills, XHTML, and CSS. What's the next step?

  • @jshabadoo Go to school.

  • I am a coder an i read much about it.

  • what an good Video ... i have a dream to make an Computer games hehehehe!..

but how? when? can i know this SkillS???

  • I love this guy so much, feel free to shout I do a lot

  • I can't even imagine how much talent and godly skill would go into programming games like Final Fantasy. How do people get to work with Sqaure-Enix?

  • @jazzmatik uni!

  • Making a web browser is damn easy in almost all languages

  • hey,i love computers and i love stuff like programing can u help me,i do i.t. in school but ppl in my class are well..llets say slow with computers but i really wanted to start programming can u help me out with it i dnt know how to get satrted.
