  • Does anyone know if this is also compatible with the Silhouette CAMEO?

  • DeFleaster-I have made progress with uninstalling and reinstalling. as well as following your tutorial stepbystep. very informative i appreciate it alot! its all working fine up until the final step if the actual cutting process. i get up to the prompt that craft robo is ready to cut and to click ok. but when i click ok nothing happens. the box just reappears over and over. could this be that i am using a trial? (im using trial to confirm that every thing works before purchase of the lic) Thanks

  • Sorry I dont have a solid answer for you... Have you tried removing all the drivers and starting from scratch. However use the latest stuff online instead of the driver disk..

  • Im gettint the same error. but ive installed several versions of drivers. from the install disc-automatically and manually, from silhouette's website. from graphtecs website. and a couple other places. Pepakura doesnt even recognize that there is a device at all. yet everything else is installed. any suggestions?

  • WHEN I GO TO CUT DEVELOPMENT, IT TELLS ME THE CRAFT ROBO CONTROLLER IS NOT FOUND? ANY SUGGESTIONS

  • @rpddeathadder Sounds like you dont have the driver installed..

  • great video just one thing you dont need to have the designer you can just have the craft robo just make sure you move everything to fit into the reg marks but other then that really helped allot the designer just makes it easier

  • @ColteTori Thanks for the comment however you need the designer software to move the pieces of the project to fit in an A4 paper size so you can save the file as that paper size. Then you print/cut as letter size paper making everything work correctly. So you do need the Designer software to be able to save your work.

  • The background music gets quite annoying after a while, but your voice is nice listening to. I don't think we have such cutters in The Netherlands... I'll just go ahead with razors for now... :)

  • @SharonX First attempt at video editing and such so its a learning curve... Thanks for the comment.

  • in the 12min of this video, I already cut out the parts with a scissor..

  • @kinmanyuen Im sure you did..

  • On what aisle or department can I find the adhesive spray at walmart?

  • @WarSnakeFilms I have no idea at your WalMart but look around where they sell the adhesive. The aisle will contain tapes and glues of all types.

  • Also, how do you take care of the carrier sheet? Mine has lost it's tackiness and parts come off and jam the machine as it cuts.

  • @amvalenz Spray on contact adhesive you can purchase at Wal-mart or any home improvement store. I believe it's mentioned it in the video on what to do.

  • Where can I get the background music you use? =P

  • @amvalenz My son created it for me, if your seriously interested in it I can let him know. Then I can put you in touch with him to discuses price and usage rights.

  • @ThePropworx Hah I didn't want to use it or anything. I just thought it was catchy and wanted to put it on my workout playlist. How much for a download?

  • Is it possible that I can send you a file and then you can cut it and mail it out? I'd be willing to pay :D

  • @Lildrummer02 I really don't want to get into that because even though your willing to pay its still a bit or work on my side and I don't get allot of time for project work due to my real job. Thus the reason no other videos have been done..

  • lol i mean can u send me the link of the machine u purchased.

  • @naruto88uzumaki I will have to dig it up... Got off there eBay store there in Wisconsin if that helps you find it before me. great folks were very helpful during the purchase..

  • @ThePropworx i youst remember, in your 405th site u have this video and below the links to ebay and the machine your bought am guessing thats the real deal am youst gona follow that link since u posted and bought it to from there. also can this machine score the lines??? its a dumb question but anyways lol thanks for taking your time on replying :)

  • also where did u get get it?? ebay? can u send me the link cause there alot of those machines and i dnt know which one to buy cause i dnt trust ebay very much . when u have the time can u send me the machine that u purchased! thnk u!

  • Great video with a lot of good information. Thanks so much. I do have one question that hopefully you can answer for me. I was wondering how the cutter knows not to cut the dotted lines where the folds go. Is this because the 'viewer for craftrobo' program only tells it to cut the solid lines that should be cut? Thanks again.

  • @The501stSith Its simple because it works just like a printer. It's basically reprinting the file but the cutter engages when there is a line present regardless if its dashed..

  • @ThePropworx So if it cuts on the dotted lines then how do you keep the tabs attached so you can glue the faces together?

  • @The501stSith It doesn't cut the tabs off it only perforates then along the dotted line. Listen the noise the cutter makes you should hear it making a noise like a machine gun at times. That's the dotted lines being done.

  • is this even woth the money cause my wrist is killing me after hours of cutting cardstock.... ive seen alot of videos of people talking crap about it but i dunno its it good?

  • @naruto88uzumaki It really depends on the volume of work your doing... If your doing alot of cutting I would say yes... If your running a one or two projects i would say no..

  • Do anyone know what the difference between the Silhouette CC330L-20 SD end the Silhouette SD??

    Is it the same machine??

  • What an amazing tool!!!

    I want one!

  • great video.. but i just realized im trying to do the mark vi helmet but some parts are larger then the a4 size when the print size was changed, so what do i do in this situation?

  • @jaysgadgets Well this really goes beyond the scope of this tutorial, but there is a way to slice a part in pep to create two pieces out of one. I dont remember what the icon looks like but i would look into that. i have had to do it a couple of times myself.

  • not to be rude but i know that this is easier for all you pepakura fans... but come on really are you guys that lazy, to take you time and cut it out yourself... its more fun and you feel better when it fully done. it give you experience. just dont be lazy

  • @arbitergomez Wow.... Did you ever bother to take into consideration that maybe were just a bit tired hand cutting out 20 sheets of parts. On the same note I did buy a Table Saw to cut pieces of wood, would that make me lazy because im not using a hand saw? So regardless of you not wanting to be rude, your comment really warrants nothing because if you can afforded to buy the right tool for the job, do it. To me hand cutting is a complete waste of time I could be spending time with my family.

  • This helped out a lot. I know you mentioned needing to refresh the carrier sheet. Is there an easy way to do that?

  • @rarojas88 Spray contact adhesive should do the trick for you, only spray the contact sheet.

  • Hey Doug, fellow 405ther here. I was wondering if you had the info for cutting something that's in landscape view, instead of portrait view? I'm really trying to not have to reorganize 24 pages onto portrait view...

In Designer, I've already turned the page size to A4 and switched the '32' and '15' accordingly, but with setting the registration marks, I can't find a configuration that works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

And awesome video. Answered a TON of questions already!

  • @nicktendo Sorry for the late reply, but I would think it would just be a matter of doing all the same steps but selecting landscape each time. The cutter should work just like a printer changing the orientation internally.

  • Thanks! You saved me soo much time! I didn't know what to set the margins to in designer, so I was having to load a screenshot of the registration marks set to the right values with red lines photoshopped in it. Took way too much time.

  • @apocalyptica003

Glad it helped, the real credit goes to a lot of people I just complied it all together.

  • Awesome video. I plan on buying one of these to start a sign/decal business, and forgot that Pepakura Designer has a version for the Craft Robo... I had totally forgot.. you just made my night lol

  • More Vids Doug!!!!! Big ups for the video, im throwing some extra cash into my savings over the next few pays to get one of these cutters heheh.

I have a vid on my account of cutting out a simple shin by hand (increased playback speed)... took me AGES though hehe.

  • @elro1822

Thanks for the comment... My first video editing attempt so I'm still learning.

I plan on doing more just have to make the time..

  • A very well done video. Useful information + catchy beat makes for a pretty rad view.

  • @TheNintendoGuru

    Thanks for the comment.

  • I'm running into a problem. When I click on "Cut developments" and click OK a box comes up that says "cannot find information about Craft ROBO Controller" and I do have the controller installed. any ideas?

  • @PMW3 okay a closer look at your video, you seem to have a different controller than I do, may I ask where you got it?

  • @PMW3

When you switch from printing to cutting do you have the Graphtec CC330L driver installed. What the the Silhouette SD refers to as the Controller is the Print Driver. Also I didn't install the CD software I downloaded the latest versions of the software from the website.

  • Fantastic!
