  • beautiful stuff thanks

  • Superb. No need to apologise about chatting at the end, the commentary just puts the whole thing in context. Ace work!

  • Awesome - thanks Justin

  • THAT is a wonderful, Be-a-U-tiful lick! Thank you for posting this!!!

  • More JAZZ = More JIZZ :)

  • Great direction for the videos. My question for you is, do you have the Giant Steps transcription in Treble clef and tabs? If so I would pay for that and I'm sure others would also. Are you familiar with what is known as the jazz scales?

  • Another fantastic lesson.

I'm loving the jazz lick lessons!!!

    Thanks again.

  • It's a broken arrow.

  • Justin is that a tattoo of a SHROOM on your arm? Been tryin to figure it out for a while now....

  • @Orthoshlep

    It's a broken arrow

  • One of the best on the web, if not THE best. Lovely little lick, thank you.

  • can you do a lesson on playing jazz "in the pocket".. i have decent vocabulary but i seem to lack groove a bit :D

  • Wow this is great. I'm not a jazz player but this got me interested. It seems like you can get a lot of technical work in jazz :D

One question though. It's not related to this video...

Do you have any tips on muting whilst doing leads with some distortion?

I always have so much noise and can't deal with it :/

  • great lesson ther justin! the lick on the higher notes relaly is a joe pass lick. i saw it played by him on his solo guitar video tutorial. thank God someone broke down that complicated sound lick.. God bless you justin!

  • woh another great lesson

  • Good lesson Justin. Thanks for posting it!!

  • Justin...great video. Only a suggestion.....more light! you need a clear white light in your room.... it help video quality a lot!

  • Nice!

  • Great lesson bro love the lick!!!

  • Excellent!

  • YES! MORE JAZZ!

  • lol ST-666

  • that closing from 5.10 is so cool! thanks again for all your great lesson Justin! :-)

  • I like Joe Pass thanks a lot !!!!!!!!!! = )

  • Sounds pretty similar to Lick #17, but this one is also nice :-)

  • Merci !!!

  • Hey Justin you sexy man. How does Joe Pass play his solo pieces? He can carry a song himself without a backing track going through all those notes yet it sounds like a complete song. How do solo jazz players do what they do? Thanks.

  • @Charlesdance They 'play the changes'.

Check out Justin's 'Jazz Up Your Blues' arpeggio lessons for a great introduction to the technique.

  • @Jerwold Hey Jerworld. I've seen that video of Justins before and it did help a lot. but still kinda feel like I don't get it yet.

Check out this video of Tommy Emmanuel watch?v=Ae70lkdAzJs. He plays 4 little solo bits, the first one is really simple physically, but how he comes up with that mentally on the fly still seems way beyond me. It's the intellectual side of this style of playing, joining everything together to make something so fluid and bold without any assistance.

    I want it! :)

  • great as always - love your clear and cheerful presentation too mate!

  • Thank you...

  • What the fuck with the 3:50 ad?

  • "I make my own licks".

  • I like the humor in your videos :)

    Nice lick, Justin.

  • ugh not a another tasty licks :)

  • All of a sudden I wanna watch "The Party" :P

  • mmm

  • Nice lick, I love it!

    Greatings from Spain! :D

  • Sounds great, Justin! Thanks
