  • I thought this game came out very nicely. It's always nice to play a fan made game especially a Castlevania series one that plays smoothly like a full fledged Konami game. I give this guy who made it two thumbs up, and I would hope he would have time to make another game as great as this one someday if he feels up to it;).

  • Que Script é esse?

  • You should recreate castlevania 3, with alucard and belmont from castlevania symphony of the night.

  • Uh Oh, this game's looking kinda Simon's Quest-ish! seriously with that town and cave and everything

  • _____HEY! Why can't you dudes make MULTIPLE CHARACTERS for a Castlevania game? I wanna be able to pick between a kick-ass midget, a steroid-pumped muscle-man, and a hot speedy chick...! No, wait, that's some OTHER sidescroller series. But can ya do it? Playin' as the same-lame long-haired whip-cracker every game gets kinda boring, ya know?

  • @Egglesplork You have no concept for how long it takes to do something like this, do you? Let alone keep it balanced and fun. Not only that, but I'm not exactly being paid to do this, so you're going to play as who I want you to play as, understand?

  • @BlazeHedgehog

_____Sure, I understand... I understand that you're too SCARED to throw in a few extra characters! That, and you need a more flexible gaming engine. Dude, I can fake up multiple characters in the RE4 gaming engine in a day, A DAY. You hear me? All ya gotta do is change the damage tables, physical appearances, animations and sounds. Or you can sit around and pout all day about how you make things hard for yourself!

  • @BlazeHedgehog Either that or dont play at all. He's right, more work goes into this stuff than you know.

  • i need to be sincere: the level design, character and monsters are not bad at all. but this game has by far the most awful game controls i've ever handled. perhaps some work with the code can fix it. no more complaints, i'm just being sincere, sorry.

  • @LeoPedrozo Sincere? Maybe. Specific? Nope. I can't fix what you don't detail for me to fix. Just saying, "the controls are bad" means nothing to me, because I don't think the controls are bad at all.

  • @BlazeHedgehog As I said, I'm sorry for saying it. It's really not common for a "fan game developer" to hear that words (I [think] that I'm one, so I can say). You're developing on MMF, so I can't help you that much, but I'm gonna send you a PM explaining the issues I've found.

    Kind regards, my friend.

  • music is badass! and i like the trees too, they provide a fresh new look

  • Good work with the trees. I like fangames with its own sprites.

  • good work. your job making this fangame was awsome

  • did you hand draw the dracula in the intro?

  • @alucardshero It's from the SNES version of Dracula X.

  • looks awesome!

  • megaman charge the orbe... thats kinda... not bad but weird... lol.

  • Seens like the Castlevania FanGame producers only know how to use pop caracters like Richter or Alucard... Then, all those fangames became the same thing. And All those end up unfinished by some unknown reason...

  • @DonDiego500000 Why would anyone want to use unpopular characters?

  • @DonDiego500000 I don't really understand what Richter's appeal is. Castlevania should be Simon's story. I also don't understand why these fan films keep using metal mixes of these songs. There was no metal back then.

  • star treck title-music :P

  • @BaraBrandurHenriksen No, it's Castlevania music. It's not as similar as you think it is.

  • @BlazeHedgehog but it almost sounds like star treck at the BEGINNING of the song ;P

  • You should make enemies blink/flash when you hit them. You need more hit confirmation than an audio cue. Otherwise that's pretty damn awesome.

  • @1982markjm i was gonna say that!

  • holy sh*t this looks awsome :D :D :D

  • I want Scarlett Johanson to massage my back. It really hurts right now.

  • Richter is more powerful in this stage.( it just only begin.)

I love this one, I will waitng to see stage2.

  • man,i love this game,where i can make download ?

  • really, really nice!!!

just one thing: when you hit an enemmy it is not clear if you miss him or if you got him... (especially the boss) so you could make them change color for a frame...or make them flash.. just to show that you hit them...

  • nice, what program you used?

  • hey this is awesome can you tell me how to put music on mp3 not midi please I'm working on something and I hate midi music

  • the lightning whip is a nice touch. love it

  • pretty good game i like it but you should slow down richter's run it is way to fast the level are ok but it don't fell likecastlevania overall it's a good game

  • I loved the glowing of the level ups, cross sub-weapon, enemies dying, and sunset in the first area's background.

  • hey man, great work! i also have MMF2. is there any good tutorials you could point me towards? i am hoping to create my own castlevania mod, but dont know where to start when using MMF2 :(

  • Sorry - I've been using Multimedia Fusion for so long that I haven't looked at a tutorial in years.

  • I love backgrounds!

  • Candles on trees? Lol

  • Well, I must say "hats off to you" on this one. Your character controls are flawless.

  • did you make this using the demo version or do you use the full program?

  • Full program. The demo version is limited to 30 days and you can't build stand-alone executables with it.

  • I've never tried multimedia fusion, I'm fairly new to coding... How hard was it to make actions such as richter running and crash items and such?

  • That's a little tricky to say because I've been using Multimedia Fusion for about ten years now. Some people have said that GameMaker is more robust and makes more "logical" sense, because there's some weird sort of work-around stuff you have to do in MMF sometimes to get certain things functional. But I also don't hesitate to say that I'm sloppy with my code and dumb as a sack of hammers and I do pretty okay.

  • Did you use Gamemaker for this or C++?

    If you used Gamemaker...

How did you code richter to dash?

  • I've never touched Game Maker. I use Multimedia Fusion. I don't know how that translates to Game Maker code at all.

  • awesome stuff man this has to be my fav homebrew so far, great graphics....i tried the demo out and it controls very smoothly :)

  • Heh. Love the Castlevania III throwback at the beginning.

  • lol,megaman x charge buster 7:41

  • LOL

  • A lot of things use that sound effect. MegaMan X was not the first, or the last.

  • Not bad..

  • It would be cool since you have the lighting whip to light up the cave a little....like the bat echo in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night...also be able to use other character...but other than that its 5/5 in my book ^_^

  • Only A Life Boss Bar and the game is perfectly, believe me

  • you're castlevania fangame its awesome man

i can't wait to see it released

  • This looks like Sonic + Castlvania with Megaman sound effects in the end o.O

  • 7:33 transformer sound effect

  • Originated in Star Trek, I think. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night also uses it.

  • what project

  • any idea when your gona be finished with the full version

  • No idea, sorry. I'm kind of busy with another project at the moment.

  • Is this the alternative story after Richter's first battle? I'm impress.

  • Looks VERY nice. Really. Though i noticed richter´s sprite, wen he moves, shakes a little. Loved the trees, and the cave part was awesome.

  • only one stage, it sucks

  • Well... If you read the description, it´ll be written UNFINIISHED.

  • oh i haven't noticed, sorry for being so aggresive

  • meh, always happen with everybody ^^'

  • hey!, the description doesn't even has the word "unfinished"

  • Unfinished, demo, whatever. Acctually Demo is even less than unfinished '_'

  • Now you're just talking nonsense.

  • Whatever. Sorry, i don´t really can express myself well and i mistyped.

I learnt english playing Final Fantasy...

  • hah...ya know wat guys..i dont think we should wait for KONAMI to do this type of game for castlevania..juz let the fans who can make a game like this and copyrighted it..coz this game that ya make is fawkinf ROCK!!..plus the music and the effects too:D..seriusly no joking..hahhaa

  • Very nice job! Nice effects.

  • what program and nice job >:)

  • There are two things I always wanted to see in a Castlevania game, the ability to change between throwing weapons and...

    BLOOD AND GORE!

  • looks really good id like to play the effect of the holy water looks cool along with the power up of the whip good work

  • Wow! The music of this fan-game is so rock!

Great job! I hope you finish this game! :D

  • looking good cant wait until its going to be done.

  • I really like this game XD good job and good luck!

  • Nice effects there man and using OC Remixes for the game soundtrack is an awesome choice. Going to give this a try

  • To make them more visible, give the bats an aura/glow. In my opinion, the best color would be a red. And maybe it could be pulsing a little?

  • Looks amazing. About the bats mabye you should give them a white outline or make them purple for that area.

  • Look Awesome !! 5/5 *****

  • Possibly the most metal fangame ever? I'd have to say so. This is incredible. You've kept the spirit of the original and rocked it out. Especially love the faster more action oriented gameplay, another winner BlazeHedgehog! ^__^

  • Let me be the first to say I thought it said Castlevania: Ballad of Autism.

  • Nice trees. :)

  • awesome dude!
