  • thank you so much, saved my life. I am making one of these for my major design project only i am linking solar panels to the air-conditioning inside the car to vent cool air in and my design of that will vent air out

  • This actually works quite well. My windows aren't tinted, which makes a difference. Or so I've heard. However, It does make a noticable difference in direct sunlight, without TINTED WINDOWS.

  • Here's what I did since I have tinted windows: I already use a sunshade/sun visor, so I put a Solar Panel Recharger (from Harbor Freight Tools for less than $10) in front of the sunshade (further towards the dash crevice), then I used the 12 volt powered ventilator fan I bought years ago and hooked to the solar powered battery charger/12-volt power unit. Works for me just fine. No it is not super cool, but it makes a hell of a lot of difference than the sunshade alone.

  • @FCA1975 is the fan facing an open window?

  • @camaroman101 No, it's on the inside sucking air out through tiny vents. It's exactly like the one in the video, however it is not solar powered.

  • i was gonna buy on ebay but wised up to the con and thought better search youtube for a review!!! just as well ay??!

  • Here's a better way to keep the car cool. Tint your windows with a high quality tint and buy a windshield sunshade. It keeps the car so much cooler and actually works.

  • 5 fucking minutes though? why not at least give it an hour? u expect that little fan to cool a car in 5 minutes?

  • I have a solution to your heat problem get a convertible and let us know how hot it gets inside.

  • how is the "fucker" lying he says exactly at 1:25 and i quote (wow the car got hotter) down here in souther cali temp inside the car has gonne up to 129 F now inside a car with windows up is prob up to 170 or so. this does not work at all down here. so now people pay attention to the videos and comment in a inteligent manner

  • Don't waste your money. A better investment is to fully tint all windows and use a sunshade for the windshield. That works for me and the car is much cooler than without tint and a sunshade. Put a white towel over the steering wheel and seat to keep them cool as well.

  • the fucker is lying !!!!!!

  • The experiment methodology is dead wrong. How long has this car been out in the sun? The devise should be installed as soon as the car is parked in the sun. Let it start fighting right away and not after the war is lost. The devise is not an a/c unit. It just circulates the air expelling the hot and drawing in cooler from outside. Five minutes is not enough to see any result. I have tried the particular model and it makes my car if not cool, at least more tolerable. Good enough for the money.

  • found a broken one at a yard sale for $.50 so I tried it. If you keep it on the "sunny" side of the car it does lower the temp! Its no AC unit, but for $.50 and 5 mins to fix it i can say its better than not having it! With a sun shade and this fan ( might be a diff model) I do reduce my heat in my truck! Joe

  • yea i waist my money for dis piece of shit!

  • Just buy one of those sun shades you put in the windshield or park in the shade.....Even if you built a solar fan of your own that blows harder, it can't fight the suns rays and cool down the 3,000 lb solar oven called your car.

  • omg i lost me fucking money

  • This news segment is retarded. It's a ventilation system not an AC system. I think the point of this product is to keep the cabin temperature from reaching blistering temperatures.

  • on Amazon.com out of 53 reviews 46 are 1 Star

  • i think it is quite small and slow but, anyhow it is a good invention...

I'll make an improved version; thanks 4 the idea ;)

  • rubbish........waste of money

  • waste of money

  • Perhaps, its because he just put in the stuff for 5 minutes. Maybe if he wait for 10 or 15 minutes the result wont be like that. Just my cents

  • You have tinted windows.

This blocks out most of the solar rays, that why it turned of duh..

  • Wish i'd seen this before I bought 2 on eBay... Oh well at least i'll look cool...

  • u reckon similar products would work... maybe it was a bad brand... does anyone have one of these ?

  • I like this guy. Puts humor into otherwise dry scenarios :)

  • park in the shade or coverd parking

  • I like how he picks up the cookie pan and he can somehow hold it...It takes a minimal of 150 degrees farenheit to cook that. If the car could somehow get that hot, his hands would have a mild first degree burn.

  • chill, he was trying to be funny.

  • I cooked a roast in my black car while at work one July day in ARIZONA.. The meat hit 170 degrees....

  • i bought 2 of them...these things dont do shit...its a little fan that has no where near enough power to curculate the air in your car...save your money and buy a windshield film thingy

  • what ever happened to the SUN SHADE!!! (that cardboard thing you put in you window)

    those work somewhat.

  • ugh i bought it! CRAP!

  • 5 minutes is not enough for a small PC style fan like that to push enough air to cool a car.

If anyhting it will just circulate the air, at best.

  • A better, more scientific, test would have been to park a number of identical cars side by side with:

    1. The windows up.

    2. One window cracked open a half inch.

    3. Two windows cracked open (for a cross breeze).

    4. A sun shade in the windshield.

    5. A solar fan.

    6. A solar fan and a sun shade.

Leave the cars for an hour so that they're all at an equilibrium.

  • You're trying to show people who never took science classes. Like they'll ever know what a constant is. (directed at news reporters)

  • You need to:

    1. Use a sun shade on the windshield also.

    2. Make sure the solar panel is facing the sun.

    3. Make sure the fan is turning. If the blade gets stuck...

I've used a solar fan and sun shade for years. It has helped by at least 10 degrees.

  • BULLSHIT!

this piece of shit does not work!

the only reason why he's didn't work on that truck in the video is because his windows were tented...and it says it doesn't work on tented windows.

that proves that im not bullshitting, Auto Is a piece of shit product that came broken right out the box..save your money people. It really doesn't work.

  • it`s small fan

  • i have it and it does work very well...

i would advise you to save your money :p

  • I have it and it works very good. This guy gave it 5 minutes and probably broke it when he rolled up the window. It is designed to stay in the car for a while not 5 minutes that not enough time to ventilate.

  • @bliss55films I have one I just throw it on my dash, its no air conditioner, but if your car sits out in the sun it beats nothing at all, some how just circulating the air seems to help. my 2 cents anyway.

  • so it doesnt work? iw as about to buy it but nehh LOL
