John Pilger is mis-informed, The base existed--the USA captured 2,500 crew-served weapons,7,000 to 8,000 tons of rice,1,800 tons of ammunition (including 143,000 mortar shells, rockets, and recoilless rifle rounds)29 tons of communications equipment;431 vehicles,and 55 tons of medical supplies-It was the most successful military operation of the entire war.The US was able to contunue it's withdrawal from Vietnam without fear of attack from NVA&VC-which was supporting Pol Pot at this point.

If you were confused about what we say when we say "imperialism," this is it. What this documentary doesn't show is all the stuff we did PURPOSEFULLY to fund Pol Pot. Zbigniew Brzezinski later admitted that he encouraged China to fund him because it would look bad if America did it directly. After they fell from power, we encouraged the UN to continue to recognize Democratic Kampuchea. We even gave weapons to charity knowing where they would go.

@commissarusa ..it's kind of crazy --Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge would never had come to power had they not been armed,supported and sheltered by the North Vietnamese--the US was supporting Lon Nol & the Cambodian government in it's war with the khmer rouge ..yet Vietnam and Khmer Rouge would later become bitter enemies and go to war....China which had supported N.Vietnam, would later arm and support Pol Pot to counter the spread of Vietnamese influence..everybody switching sides....lol.. nuts!

John Pilger mentions nothing of communist hit & run attacks across the border region into South Vietnam. The North Vietnamese & the Viet Cong were in blantant violation of Cambodia's nutrality thru out the duration of the early 70s. The bombing had NO military significance. The arms trail was nebulous and impossible to destroy, and by this time Kissinger knew that the war was unwinable.
