  • IMO her performance of ''Dance Ten, Looks Three,'' available on the net, is incomparable. and that includes the amazing original cast version. She exhibits real comedy chops in that. Add a beautiful face and figure and as others have said she should be a big star. I'm surprised Hollywood hasn't come calling.

  • WHY IS SHE NOT MEGA FAMOUS?! SHE'S THE BEST DANCER I'VE EVER SEEN

  • @Beejeification i agree, she is so passionate !

  • She has a real musicality about her in this number. In some of the other versions, there's parts of the routine that don't feel like they fit the music completely. But she manages to punctuate things at the right time. Fabulous.

  • There's no mention of Jessica playing Cassie in Chicago at the Paramount Theatre. I checked the website. However, she is playing in an off-Broadway show titled "Make Mine Manhattan."

  • She's awfully good, but the audience's overexhuberance is more than a bit much.

  • Watch the mexican version of this number as "Musica y espejos" its the first video and the girl is wonderful and the orchestra is incredible!! :)

  • SHE IS THE MOST AMAZING DANCER I HAVE EVER SEEN!

  • No doubt she is a fabulous dancer. But, again, the " tormented " Cassie is missing. The au- dience doesn't help. Their support would be more suitable on a dance competition or even the olympics. I assume Goldyn was real good any other night.

  • She's freaking KILLING IT! So much passion.

  • best performance of music in the mirror that ive ever seen.

  • I just love this... its like she's dancing for everyone in the audience. They are totally feeding her amazing energy!

  • OMG!!!!!!AMAZING!!!!!!THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm so jealous of her jumps. She can jump 5 feet in the air with 3" LaDucas on. HOW does she DO that??!?!@#$@!?!

  • SHE'S PLAYING CASSIE IN CHICAGO AT THE PARAMOUNT THEATER JAN 18-FEB 5 2012!!!!!!!!

  • She is one FIIIIEEEERCE bitch.

  • incredible. truly incredible. i have goosebumps.

  • and she's only the UNDERSTUDY for cassie

  • Chills!!!!

  • Ik her!!!!!!!!!!! And six people do not know what dancing is!!!!

  • She is probably THE best dancer I've ever seen. Jessica is for sure a great triple threat to look up to as a performer.

  • hers cassie is not standard,so she shining likes flash.

  • I have looked all over YouTube and I cannot find a better performance of this dance than Ms. Goldyn. She is stunning as much as, if not more than Donna McKechnie was, in my opinion.

  • You are my favourite performer/dancer in the world right now. Simply stunning.

  • OH. MY. GOD. I literally started crying when I saw this. I have never seen a dancer move with so much intensity and passion. As a dancer, watching this was truly inspiring. Thank you so much

  • She is great and can be greater as Cassie.

But no one in this world will ever match Donna McKechnie in this role because of the "aura".

  • she's sooooo gorgeous... there's so much passion... it makes me cry!!!! kisses from peru!!! i'm a big fan!!!

  • This girl is freaking AMAZING!!! Why aren't choreographer/directors using her as a muse and creating dances for her and making her the STAR that she should be?

  • How does this have 5 dislikes??? How?

  • I wish i could dance as amazingly as this! You give it so much energy it's unreal! :D

    xx

  • PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWWW im in absoloute awe! One of the performers on Broadway ever!

  • This is someone I google every once in a while just to keep up. I think she is perfection.

  • <3 <3 <3 Wonderful!

  • She's amazing - she puts triple turns in where others do doubles, her jumps are effortless and full of joy. Her timing to the music is simply flawless. She makes the choreography sing.

  • I just saw the video of her as Val. She is amazing. A triple threat who is funny and pretty, too. There exist no words to describe the awesomeness that is Jessica Lee Goldyn.

  • THis is a really good performance :D

  • @soprano65656 Don't worry! This is a DANCE oriented show! It requires the best of the best when it comes to dancers. There are plenty of other shows which focus less on dance and you can be successful in.

  • by faaaaar the best dancer!! :D

  • im already 14 so i will mos likely never be able to dance like this in time to be on broadway but i still hope to have a career singing

  • @soprano65656 Work your ASS off, nothing is impossible. Trust me, I was in your shoes, and I'm making a career out of it. You can do it.

  • Ms. Goldyn gave an AMAZING performance of Cassie. I was here at the the final performance and can attest to her brilliance in this role. She is simply the best dancer that Broadway has seen in decades. She blows Ms. D'Amboise out of the water.

  • This is the kind of display of passion that makes me believe in God.

  • Wow. I've done Chorus Line and seen it many times. This is the best I've ever seen that dance number performed. I think Jessica was right in her own post when she said she's too young. The only thing missing were the layers of emotional desperation and depth that only time can really provide. When she does this again in 10 years (and she WILL), I'll be getting my ticket to see THAT. She's glorious to watch.

  • There is something about her performance and her honesty that just gives me chills everytime I watch her. This literally brought tears to my eyes. Yesterday I watched a documentary with my friend called "Every Little Step" it showed the entire casting process of the Revival Cast. The whole time she stood out and was so humble. She was originally up for the understudy roles for Cassie and Val. But that just goes to show you that if you give it your all you will get what you want. She is my idol.

  • yes...she is very good.....and the audience certainly loves her....but i think she is a bit to young...her dance 10 looks 3 is AMAZING...perfect role for her.....I think Cassie for her when shes older definetly!

  • GET IT!

  • This is inspiring, she's incredible.

  • I just wish the cast recording of the revival wasn't so cold and technically tight. It didn't have the "life" of the original cast - and that might have helped the revival close early.

  • Wow.

  • This is absolutely incredible. You are a phenomenal dancer and brought tears to my eyes! Keep living the dream. As someone also in the business, your performance of this piece was incredibly inspiring.

  • Why am I not surpised that this performance is freaking spectacular? I've known Jess for years, and honestly, she's always inspired me to be a better performer. When someone has that kind of talent, and can walk around with the kind of humility and grace she has, that's when you know you're dealing with an amazing woman. GO JESSICA!!!

  • U r what i call "A DANCER" a real one!!! U r amazing and u deserve to be where u r now!! U live when ur dance..Every part of u is shining!! I am myself a dancer and It's so amazing to see someone so talented, real and passionate,u truly inspire me and i thank u for that!! I wish u an amazing carer on Broadway!!

  • GET IT GIRL!

  • My favorite choreography in this dance starts at 3:13. I love to watch each Cassie's footwork and body movements at this finale. It can be a true testament to the dancer's stamina. Unfortunatly the camera guy is too zoomed in to fully appreciate this part of Jessica's performance :( Excellent performance on Jessica's part though.

  • Ugh, seriously. Fiercest dancer ever.

  • this performance blows my mind! the passion is unbelievable. plus she's an amazing dancer! i can't help smiling every time i watch this! this is the definition of dancing - take this video and paste it in the dictionary, under dance!

  • Jessica i came over from the UK and saw you and was lucky enough to meet you after in a talk whilst i was training - i have to say your performance changed my life, i loved you in A Chorusline and in Every Little Step and wish you every succsess for the future - im sure your gonna be the next Broadway Diva - moved over Liza, Bernadette and Sutton here comes JESSICA! xXx

  • Oh my gosh, that was amazing! She's so good as Cassie!

  • Jessica you are an amazing dancing, I think you are perfect as Val ( like how Natalie was the perfect Diana)!l, but seriously you kill this! Awesome!

  • that was probably one of the best things i've seen in awhile!!!! come to LA and be in my new series!!! Its a musical for MTV called PRIVATE HIGH

  • WOW! That's all I can say. Wow. She KILLS it! Great job Jessica!

  • OH MY GOD at the end she just KILLS it!!! LOVE it!!

  • @GoldynJessica Hopefully this is really you. I have watched this video so many times, seen the movie. Personally I like the idea of a younger Cassie. This performance clearly shows that you need no "growing into" the role. It's the best dance rendition of all time. Obviously you know that Natalie Cortez is now gracefully playing a "young" version of Anita in WSS. She's incredible, as are you. Forget age limits on these characters. You must come back to Broadway.

  • Okay I always thought that JLG should play this part. wow!

  • Shes amazing wy did she go on for the lead on closing?

  • You inspire me. You are a true artist!

  • She's absolutely amazing, she doesnt deserve to be the understudy, but i'd be dissapointed if she wasnt Val, she's so convincing as both! Fantastic leap and piroette =)

  • Can't stop watching this. She is phenomenal!

  • She is easily the best dancer on Broadway!!! Just stunning!!!!

  • the leap. incredible.

  • Jessica! Just now saw this video of you performing "Cassie" on Bway- fantastic job- such passion and technique! A real joy to read your note below and how you are looking forward to doing the role again. I was quite young myself when Michael Bennett wanted to groom me in the role- I was doing the Original "Pop" in 1975 "Chicago" for Fosse, left eventually to do "Cassie", and after many years, about 3,000 perf., I loved performing her with much growth and knowledge. Love! Cheryl Clark

  • I thought she was great in Every Little Step and she does a great job here. Donna McKechnie set the bar way up in the stratosphere and is, of course, the original and greatest of all Cassie's. I must have watch the original Donna McKechnie dance here on YouTube over 100 times as it is so inspiring. But Jessica danced extremely well, especially considering that her regular part was Val.

  • I just had my mind blown.

  • THIS JUST BLEW MY MIIIIIIIIIIND!

  • An absolutley breath taking performance! Please...someone tell me that there is a way to see Jessica's entire performance of this number! I cannot get enough! Even though she is too young for this role her passion and fire makes you forget her age! She just leaves you wanting more and more and more! What a fabulous triple threat find for Broadway! Congratulations Jessica your hard work and commitment have obviously paid off!

  • I would love to see the whole thing without editing. She is FEROCIUOS!!!

  • Ms Goldwyn is sensational The lines she hits, the speed, the strength, technique and sensuality are exhilarating. At any age she would be an inspiring talent, a rising star. She did the legacy of ACL proud. I'm adding this video to my favorites. Best of luck. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of her

  • From 1977 to 1979 I was dance captain of the International Company , one of the 2 touring companies of ACL. I trained and watched some of the best young women to ever wear the red skirt. I was blessed to work with Michael, Bayork and Bob Avian. I was just taking a stroll down memory lane and I caught this video.

  • She is so amazing! She's graceful and passionate. Jessica Lee Goldyn kicked ASS

  • She is absolutely fantastic!! one of my favorite dancers ever. i had the pleasure of seeing her as Val, i wish i could have seen her as Cassie. Thank God for this video! I hope i get to see her in something again real soon =)

  • Omg, she's sooo fierce.

She was on Every Little Step, right?

  • UNBELIEVABLE. that was incredible.

  • she's amazing! check out an awesome 17 year old following in her footsteps on my home page.

  • and THATS why Zach says Cassie can't return to the chorus!!

    A-FREAKIN-mazing!

  • Fierce!

  • Freaking fabulous is what this is! She's brilliant!

  • shes incredible

  • FREAKING UNBELIEVABLE!!

  • AMAZING.

  • Incredible!

  • ladies and gentleman. the pure definition of a triple threat. this is just stunning. she's so connected to the music.

    ugh. love her.

  • Hairography!! Love her!

  • anyone catch the triple she threw in at 3:09? fierce.

  • And Charlotte had nothing on Donna McKechnie...

  • i only hope that one day i can be half as talented as her! she is such an inspiration. she makes me want to pursue going into musical theater. simply beautiful!

  • BRILLIANT!!!! ARHHH!!!

    so versitilee and talanted

and needs to continueee her work

would loveee to be on stage with her one day

  • I would do anything to see her as Cassie!!!!!!

  • this is amazing!! i can't get over the triple turn at the beginning and the insane center leap at 2:27

  • Qué energía, LA AMO!!! GENIAL!!!!!

  • Hello to all my lovely fans! I just wanted to thank you so much for all your love and supportive messages. I never thought I'd go on for Cassie and feel very blessed to have had the chance. I was extremely young and am looking forward to doing it again in about ten years when I'm really ready and right for the part. Thank you all for all the love and for keeping me humble and grounded. xoxo Jessica

  • @GoldynJessica You were owning it in those LaDucas. Would love to see you in another revival.

  • @GoldynJessica

    ILOVE YOU.

  • @GoldynJessica Fantasticly done! an inspiration to young dancers everywhere!

  • @GoldynJessica Wow! If this is you not feeling right and ready, I CAN'T WAIT to see your Cassie when you are. P.S. Your extension is gorgeous!

  • @GoldynJessica Amazing performance...true grace and beauty!

  • This gives me chills. Impeccable timing & beautiful lines. There is also a whole bunch of difficulty made to look easy & beautiful (and fun!) -- an outstanding dance.

  • that ending layout...brilliance!

what i love about her is that she made me "go through it" with her! every step of the way!

  • she's a formidable dancer and a nice enough actress as Val but she didn't have the acting chops for Cassie... her acting is not subtle enough. And she doesn't have the voice either.

  • Thing is with the role of Caissie they mainly look for the dancing. She doesn't do much singing and not too much acting either. But i see your point. But i just really love Jessica haha

  • i dunno. i think cassies lines before and after this song are HUGE acting moments. thats why charlotte got the part, becuz her acting was the strongest. i do think jessicas acting was right for val. she made excellence choices at her callback.

  • Hmm suppose your right. But either way Jess was the understudy. Did she take over briefly?

  • No, she was the original Val for the revival cast. Originally she was up for just an understudy, but she kicked ass at the callback so she ended up getting the part. And was absolutely AMAZING at it :)

  • Yes. She took over for the last week of the run.

  • why did she take over for the last week?

  • I like her too and I agree Cassie must be a dancer above all but a good actress can bring a lot of sadness, self doubt and resignation to that part and she doesn't. she DOES dance the hell out of it though ;)

  • A total mess?

I'd like to see you do this.

Wouldn't you milk it a little bit to if it were the closing night of a Broadway show?

p.s. your video is pitchy ;)

  • Did she take over the role of Caissie then? coz i remeber her as Val

  • Dang...SOOO Brilliant! Talk about giving 110%!! And the BEST thing is that she is so young, that she could do this role for at least another 10 years -- perhaps for the NEXT revivial of ACL!!

  • honestly, i dont think i've ever seen a bad cassie. i just love them all. jessica, donna, charlotte, nikki...anyone who can handle this part is a performing genius!

  • oh my god

that was incredible! She is such a fierce dancer. I LOVE IT

  • she is AMAZING!!!! she puts in SO much passion and you can tell that she loves what she is doing!!

  • OMG!! She is fantastic!!! Unbelievable!

  • She is Uber amazing!!! I just ... blurgh Im speechless

  • that was amazing

  • This is my favorite Cassie. She uses everything she's got down to her fingertips to add character and drama. Loved it.!

  • I was there at that final performance...and I will never forget that moment! This is purely one of the greatest musical theatre performances ever. She is a consumate professional, and purely one of the best Cassies ever!

  • she seems to have much more personality in the dancing than charlotte. i kind of got the impression that charlotte just completely switched between character and dancing sections and jessica kinda smudges that line a bit.

  • She is so amazing, i could only imagine what it would have been like seeing Donna do this. And 2:58 to 3:12 is giving me Tick Tock flashbacks xD

  • Never saw a long-haired (and blond) Cassie before....Ms. Goldyn turns it out- with a slightly sultrier approach. Love the back-bend at 1:34. The lady is hot!!

  • could someone please tell me what ethnic background she is? im sure she is polish american!!

  • She's from my town, and my bff's older sister is good friends with her :D

  • In comparison to some of the other "Cassies," her dancing is much softer; more graceful.

  • her jump in second at 2:27 is SICK!

  • A truly breathtaking performance! This lady has a bright career ahead of her.

  • wow. i am out of breath just watching this. unreal.

  • Her dancing was amazing! I wish I could hear her sing more than just that one little line, b/c if all her singing is as good as her dancing, she's absolutely incredible!!!

  • She's incredible--I must have watched this video atleast 30 times now--best performance of this song I have seen--I can't wait to see her on Broadway again! I saw her as Val and she was hilarious. A truly talented triple threat! Go Jessica! :)

  • ahhh me too!!!

    im going to see it

    again next weekend!!!

  • Um.....Disappointed???? Lets see you dance like her and do it better!!!! She was amazing! She is amazing!!!! The role of Cassie is a very demanding role! AND challenging! Record yourself and put it on you tube to see if you can do better!!!!! If you can, then great! till then, this is why she is on Broadway and we are not!!!!

  • Why don't you go do that after 90 minutes being onstage completely, without anytime to stretch, etc?

  • Flawless!

  • I was lucky enough to see this revival at its first preview in SF. Jessica was a standout as Val. And watching this, it seems like she could've been a standout as Cassie, too. Agree with everyone else -- finally, an energetic, fiery, impeccably danced version of this song that's done at the right tempo. Best dancing in this role since Donna. Brilliant!

Is there a version of this that includes her singing? I'd like to know how she goes with the vocals of this part?

  • wow! She's a great dancer - What happened to the other woman that was cast as Cassie - From "Every Little Step" I really didn't see her as Cassie though - yes, too young - but what dance talent - she was incredible to watch in that documentary!

  • OMG!

    She's a Goddess!

  • The energy ismind blowing...spectacular!

  • For some reason, when Jessica does her dance down the line at the end of this number it chills me. In a good way too. She dances with her arms out as if asking for the chance and as she travels down the line it gets more and more frantic, just like the music. In that little part of the whole dance you can feel the passion and the desperation. I love it.

  • Simply breathtaking.

But she looks too young for Cassie and I would like to see her perform this role after 7-8 years or more, and I hope she will keep her techniques until then.

This role should be played by an aging actor to express bitterness of life and eagerness for dancing. I think young, ambitious Val is more for her right now.

    Still this performance is brilliant.

  • well she did do Val at first

  • I think she was way better as val, now don't get me wrong, but after seeing her perform dance:ten, looks:three she is the best val i have ever seen play the part

  • she is amazing. i saw her as Val and she was awesome, im sure she was a great Cassie

  • I just saw the documentary "Every Little Step" and I was routing for her not knowing that she ended up getting cast. I've never seen her perform live, but I'm already in love with her. Why the E! Network and other show's like that are focusing on talentless people like Paris Hilton or Lindsey Lohan instead of Jessica Lee Goldyn is beyond comprehension.

  • i just saw ELS too knowing full well who she is (saw her 3 times in SF before they moved to broadway). what i loved learning from that film is she didn't even KNOW that she was up for val. the whole time she thought she was auditioning for the val/cassie standby. that phone call when they offered her the role must have been thrilling!

  • OMG! Me too!

  • She's such a fantastic dancer

  • i like her better as cassie than val!☺

  • Comment removed

  • this is incredible. i can't stop watching it.

  • I actually think Jessica is better than Charlotte

  • AGREED

  • And you would be right by saying that.

  • FIERCE!

  • FIERCE!!!!

  • A Chorus Line. The Best Musical. EVER.

  • THIS girl is the BEST of them all! AWESOME!

  • Wow, this is is INCREDIBLE! I saw an understudy when I saw the show last January. Jessica is INCREDIBLE! She needs to originate a role on Broadway soon. Amazing actress, terrific voice and dancing that cannot be described with words!

  • Simply the best dancing.....OMG......I'll be looking out for Jessica again on Bway.....hope she's back soon....
