Plucky really didn't deserve his own show, they should've just kept going with Tiny Toons since this show had a lot of material from that anyway. The best thing about the show was the intro.
@RabidSonicFan Fifi should have gotten a spinoff. The fans love her and wish she had a bigger role, and it could actually work really well if done properly. Unfortunately, the execs hate her or something, since she only got 4 shorts of her own despite her army of fans. Instead, we got Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain, which ruined Pinky and the Brain and is one of the reasons why cartoons these days suck. Seriously, what were they thinking? The fans and even the writers HATE Elmyra! Stupid execs!
@RabidSonicFan As Elmer's student, just like how the other Tiny Toons are the students of the other Looney Tunes. Unfortunately, some stupid executive loved her, though (Despite that both the writers and majority of Tiny Toon Adventures fans hate Elmyra, for obvious reasons), so they were forced to use her WAY more than they would have, eventually being forced by the executives to create that spinoff. One of the writers even LEFT because of that spinoff!
I really wish there had been a Plucky Duck spinoff. He was the best. The voice actor Joe Alaskey pretty much used the same voice for Daffy later on in DUCK DODGERS.
@Baldenlong77 Probably the most pointless TV show ever. It still strikes me as something of a fraud played on us kids. I remember double checking the TV Guide during the second episode to make sure I was watching the right show. What a gyp!
oddly enough... Duck Dodgers is the ONLY Looney Tunes related show to NOT have Bugs Bunny at all. Yet it introduces alot of Green Lanterns in animated forms.
@alinhoalisson that's because the writers of the 90s were flawless bitches who didnt take no shit from dem executives. not like the writers of today. you should listen to The Pinky, Brain and Elmyra intro. man, they were BITTER when they wrote that song.
@alinhoalisson So the parents watching with their kids could get a laugh too. Same deal with Animaniacs; they made fun of adult stuff all of the time.
A really really cool thing to do is open both this clip and the original Tiny Toons intro then set them up so they're both in synch with each other. :-)
I just tried that and it was awesome! :-) It really gives you an idea of how well done this track is. :-)
I gotta say that I completely agree with midknightryder13 about what was said with parodies being more difficult to write than an original song since you not only have to make the lyrics fit the beat, they have to rhyme and it actually has to make sense.
I've done a few parodies and I found that the hardest thing for me was finding words to fit the beat and still have it make sense. :-)
I gotta give credit to the person who wrote this song (and we all know it wasn't Plucky...lol) :-)
That's for sure! :-) I remember, when writing a few parodies, thinking, "Okay, this doesn't make sense...what if I change this to that...now THIS doesn't make sense..." lol
Parodies, in my opinion, are definitely much harder to write. :-) With an original song, all the artist has to do is come up with lyrics since they can change the music to fit it.
Parody artists don't have that luxury, unfortunately. :-)
I did a TTA marathon and saw a similar intro for "The Plucky Duck Show", but they showed him working with Babs (I think it was the TTA Christmas special). I was surprised to find out that this was actually a real show. lol
Maybe, with that scene in the special, they were trying to test the waters to see how Plucky would do with his own show. :-)
No. But there was going to be one for Elmyra called "Elmyra's Family". Two episodes were made for it, but both episodes ended up being used for Tiny Toons, with "Elmyra's Family" being cancelled.
This is VERY impressive. Taking an already existing theme and writing a whole new set of lyrics to it.
I'm constantly amazed at the downright cleverness of the people who do this, they make the finished product look so easy. I wonder how many 'false starts' they had before they finally arrived here?
They did the same for Pinky and the Brain's theme (many times, including Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain), and the Animaniacs Theme, and wrote in "Freakazoid and Friends," including the words "Candle Jack" for the names of the - *gets tied up by Candle Jack* - Villains.
THANK YOU! I've been looking for this! I didn't think anyone had this. I have half the song on a VHS somewhere.
Pity they didn't really give this show a chance, I mean would it have killed them to actually make NEW episodes instead of just rerunning Tiny Toons ones?
They were going to. But FOX only ordered the pilot, which was the only new episode. So in order to have a complete season, WB made the rest of the episodes have reruns. (Although the 2nd episode was entirely made out of Season 3 TTA material that hadn't aired yet, which kinda made it new)

It's a shame there weren't more episodes. IMHO The Return of Batduck was one of the best episodes of Tiny Toons. It would have been interesting to see what they would have come up with for more new material.

Well, technically Babs and Buster are a lot like Bugs Bunny. Babs is like the 'trickster' Bugs from the 40's and Buster is like the calm and clever Bugs from the 50's and onward.

Yeah, that's most likely a big factor. Although it's 2 if you count the second episode, which was made up entirely of segments from Season 3 of TTA that didn't air yet at the time.
Yeah. One would think that Warner Bros. would bring back one of their most succesful shows for their own block. (What makes it even weirder is that they did it for Animaniacs anyway)
