In "Let's Groove" (There's no 'Tonight', you're welcome), they're not auto tuning, emphasis on AUTO - Auto-tune does what it states, AUTOMATICALLY tunes. In "Let's Groove", it sounds more like vocoding or the use of a talk box which is all done MANUALLY.

So, though the technology is old, the PROCESS is different. So autotuning was relevant circa late 20th century.

@Ryu2Kuuru Sorry, I'm not sure if that's accurate. Autotune is a 90's invention. During the 60's and 70's, the Vocoder was the only piece of gear similar to autotune. However, it couldn't change recorded pitch, You had to play a keyboard while singing into a microphone for pitch to even be altered. But actually, by the mechanisms nature, it's better to simply talk into the mic so the pitched sounds keep the same timbre each note. Vocoders give that sort of "robot-voice" effect
