@HeavenClear Jesus does not want us to pray TO someone else, but THROUGH someone else (as we pray THROUGH each other when we ask people to pray for us or we for them) is definately part of his plan which reveals that we are all one body in Christ. Paul asked that prayers be made on behalf of all and that he himself would mediate on their behalf, with God... Jesus' mediatorship is always one of atonement and never does away with common prayer for one another and through one another.

I feel so apathetic towards my faith now...I miss the connection I used to have with God and the Holy Spirit and...I mean, I know God is with me always but...I no longer feel it...I wish I could have that again. Yes, it was James Farentino. It's not actually a movie- it's the series 'Jesus of Nazareth', a Franco Zefirelli production screned here in Britain in the 80's originally. Jesus is played by Robert Powell- and it's still one of my favourites- I have the box set and love it. I love the song with the images- inspiring!
I was searching the internet this morning and asking Him for some sign...some verification that He is. Some days I am very weak. Today is a particularly weepy one. This was the embrace I needed. He is so good...so loving...so understanding. And we are all so unworthy...yet He loves us still. Thank you for this beautiful gift.

The longer you let it drag, the more difficult it will become to overcome. Remember this truth always : "Without me, you can do nothing" (Jesus). Try to pray. It's difficult, but not impossible. But to us who believe, it is the power of God'- divine because he hung there on that cross instead of easily coming down. A gr8 thing to study is inspiration, i.e., which scriptures come from God. Hi fifalacious. I have trouble believing that God would do this. It is the ultimate in cruelty. And for what? Man? Only man would conjure this up to feed his ego. What makes human worth sending your beloved son to die for? Only man thinks he is so special. It seems a disgrace to me to place yourself above the other beautiful things that God has created.
I believe it only because it is so incredible, and only something God can do. What you see as ultimate cruelty, I see as ultimate self-sacrifice. Remember, it was not easy for the Father to see his Son nailed to a cross. God is just, but it was unjust that his Son should pay our price. In this case, his love outdid his justice. He should have condemned the world, but instead he Redeemed it.. gave it another chance, and didn't write it off, teaching us that the supreme law is love. Don't give up!
Dear Fifalacious, we agree with the belief that it's all about Love. Love in it's purist form of being accepting and unconditional. If we had THAT in abundance, what a wondrous place Earth would be!
God knows your situation. He loves you, and in his eyes you have never been anything but precious. Don't worry if you can't understand everything right away.. we're not meant to understand everything, but just to appreciate that much has been done for us, given to us, and as you well point out.. in abundance. Just be humble, pray... and get to know him who you cannot understand. He waits for us in a world yet unseen, unknown to us. Hang in there.
Only man would reject God making the ultimate sacrifice to sate his own sense of righteousness. To call the ultimate act of Love "the ultimate in cruelty" just goes to show that you've missed the entire point.
At least you recognize that man isn't worthy - but that's what makes this sacrifice so much more meaningful; despite having no redeeming qualities, Christ died so that we could be with Him forever, because He loves us anyway.
But God's Love can't override His justice, because He is holy and righteous. Thus, the sacrifice was required to cleanse us of our sins and make us presentable to His justice, so we could then be shown His boundless Love.
Fifa - you don't need to ask God to have mercy on you. Ask Him to forgive your transgressions so you can grow, but watch your own movie and realize: He's already bestowed His mercy upon us all.
Yes, asking him to have mercy on me and asking him to pardon my transgressions is the same thing isn't it? :) Truth is, he forgives us before we even ask, but he wants us to receive that mercy, that forgiveness in a way which he has ordained.

I feel so apathetic towards my faith now...I miss the connection I used to have with God and the Holy Spirit and...I mean, I know God is with me always but...I no longer feel it...I wish I could have that again. This video helps remind me that somewhere deep down i still have something because I want to be close to God but...I guess I have a guilty conscience and don't think I have any right to...idk... My religion teacher always tells us that whenever we are very stressed, angry or confused, ask yourself, "when was the last time I talked to God?"

Yes, it was James Farentino. It's not actually a movie- it's the series 'Jesus of Nazareth', a Franco Zefirelli production screned here in Britain in the 80's originally. Jesus is played by Robert Powell- and it's still one of my favourites- I have the box set and love it. I love the song with the images- inspiring!

You're still young, and the good Lord loves you so much. Never despair because of your frailty, but try to get out of it quick. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I no longer wanted to live. I felt no love from anyone and I thought life was not worth living. Jesus Christ gave HIS Life so that I may Live Eternally with HIM! He gave me HIS LOVE so that I can unconditionally Love other people. St Paul spoke well of you then. 'To the pagans the cross is foolish, to the Jews a scandal. But to us who believe, it is the power of God'- divine because he hung there on that cross instead of easily coming down. A gr8 thing to study is inspiration, i.e., which scriptures come from God. I believe it only because it is so incredible, and only something God can do. What you see as ultimate cruelty, I see as ultimate self-sacrifice. Remember, it was not easy for the Father to see his Son nailed to a cross. God is just, but it was unjust that his Son should pay our price. In this case, his love outdid his justice. He should have condemned the world, but instead he Redeemed it.. gave it another chance, and didn't write it off, teaching us that the supreme law is love. Don't give up!

Only man would reject God making the ultimate sacrifice to sate his own sense of righteousness. To call the ultimate act of Love "the ultimate in cruelty" just goes to show that you've missed the entire point.
At least you recognize that man isn't worthy - but that's what makes this sacrifice so much more meaningful; despite having no redeeming qualities, Christ died so that we could be with Him forever, because He loves us anyway.

But God's Love can't override His justice, because He is holy and righteous. Thus, the sacrifice was required to cleanse us of our sins and make us presentable to His justice, so we could then be shown His boundless Love.
Fifa - you don't need to ask God to have mercy on you. Ask Him to forgive your transgressions so you can grow, but watch your own movie and realize: He's already bestowed His mercy upon us all.
