I used to like russia and the soviet union, i have a military uniform and both the soviet flag and the flag of the russian federation.

And i used to begin my days by listening to tunes sung by the Red Army Choirs.

But this early morning, i found out that St.petersburg and ultimately Russia, imposes further criminal sanctions on Activists of the gay rights movement preventing gay teenagers from seeking support.

Politics aside, I admire the courage of the Soviet people and soldiers during World War 2. The Soviets carried more of the burden than anyone, losing 27 million, yes million people in the war. The Nazis could not have been beaten as swiftly and decisively if it weren't for the Soviets.

Soviet communism was one of the greatest failures of human experiment~They hid it for a time, but after 40 years they could no longer hide the facts that the "Party of the People" was not, hence they had to consistently use military power to quell the uprising of the people resulting in financial strain with a burgeoning military budget while their economy was weak and crumbling. It was tried and found wanting. Good riddance!
