  • AWESOME CAR! I seen , touched and sat in the rarest Duesy made a 1929 Phaeton Royale 24 valve v6 , possibly the most expensive/valuable car in the world lol it is in our Museum here in Wetaskiwin and wow amazing!

  • @CapnCrossbones Hey, Mark! That was indeed an unforgettable experience! I've never actually sat in one...Duseys were indeed the class act of American design at the time...and priced accordingly! Thanks! :) Jack

  • I couldn't help but notice that at 4:04 when you came back around to the front, that this beauty of a car has antique Virgina tags. That car isn't from VA, is it? If so, I'd love to be able to go see this thing in person...

  • @LoLo9078 It;s really had to tell...methinks the show was in Lakeland Florida...but it's not unusual for owners to bring their collector cars down here, either for the winter, of permanently if they move here. I see a lot of antique plates from other states. Thanks! :) Jack

  • Who made these cars? OR was it an independent company? Wish these things were still made. Would be a good Rolls Competitor!

  • @Motorfordtoyota Duesenberg was made by the Duesenberg brothers. The cars were made in Indiana, and there is a museum in Auburn Indiana devoted to these cars, along with Auburns and Cords. I visited that museum years ago..it is actually the factory where the cars were produced. This is indeed a worthy rival to the Rolls Royce! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Oh, thank you. I really wish Americans could make a real car again. That is my goal in life. To make a real automibile manufacturer for the USA. Make them HERE! And make them with quality. This brand really needs to be revived, and made to the quality, luxurious standard of old! Thanks again! I love these things!

  • @Motorfordtoyota Ah yes, I wish it were so too...but the automotive world seems to be gearing for "world cars" that are essentially the same but modified a little for their individual markets. Buick is making slightly modified Buicks for China...GM Opel is making thinly disguised Opels as Chevys for the U.S. market. Unfortunately, the automotive market has gone global! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Lovely car! Thumbs up! I've got a 1929 trading card that features an old Duesenberg in my latest vid.

  • @creamofcardstv Hey, Leo! I checked that video..nice collection of cards! Never knew they existed! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Were they better built that Rolls Royce ?

  • @mikenorman66 Gee, Mike, I don't know that I could offer an opinion on that...my guess is that they were of similar quality! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Thank you very much for your video about this exceptional Duesi. I my opinion it's the best car make that ever built cars. Now wonder even in this condition (good but not perfect) the value would stay in the 6 digits.

    Kind regards - Dieter

  • @MowagW200 Hey, Dieter! I'm glad you liked it! They were certainly the benchmark for excellence for American cars...the name often confuses people...they think the car was made in Germany. But Indiana can proudly claim to be the home of these gifted brothers. Thanks! :) Jack

  • I don't know much about Duesenburgs but I do know that they are very elegant, large, expensive and rare cars. I've sometimes heard the Cadillac described as the American equivalent to a Rolls Royce, but I'd say that the Duesenberg easily holds its own with RR.

  • @rx6180 Hey, Mick! This was the "creme de la creme" of American motorcars...only the American Pierce Arrow might make a stab at this in this country. Thanks! :) J

  • amazing..

  • @ThinkerMister11 Sure is! Thanks! :) Jack

  • amazing classic Duesenbergs are the most amazing cars ever even this non-supercharged one forget a rolls if i hit the jackpot im buying a Duesy!!!!!!!!!!! it may cost me 2 to 3 million but its a Duesy. thanks for seeing it jack and sharing

  • @leadfoots70 Hey, Ron! These supercars of the time are certainly in a class by themselves! They are certainly at the pinnacle of cars from the time and worthy of memorialization! Thanks! :) Jack

  • NICE CAR

  • @stylishcars30th Thanks! It sure is! : Jack

  • amazing car Jack, not sure if that paint is original, but if it is, then i can see why it has gone dull in some spots, i know Jay Leno has a few cars with original paint, and his cars suffer the same dull appearance, but in this market its just patina, and re-painting it would surely de-value the car, even buffing the paint could de-value it, anyways as always thanks for sharing this Duesenberg with us Jack,

  • @BRENTHENRY1989 Hey, Brent! You are right about that....you have to consider any change in these classics long and hard before you do any of it. As always, though, the owner bears the difficult responsibility in this area! Some cars are so damaged that a complete restoration is the only way to resurrect the car. Whatever the decision is, you can trust that maintaining a car like this is very expensive. Thanks! :) Jack

  • imagine having to parallel park that thing

  • @camarolover1982 That would be a daunting task, Tyler! I would venture to say that most downtowns of smaller cities had diagonal parking at that time. And many would have been chauffeur driven..and it was their business to know how to handle these brutes. Long before power steering! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Wow, could be the best you've had on your channel. Genius cars, amazing.

  • @yooperd if i am not mistaken this is the first Duesenberg Jack has filmed for Youtube, so far i have only seen about four to five Duesenberg's in my life, the last one i seen was last June at the local Fleetwood Country Cruize, i also filmed that one of course as you have already seen, anyways, when ever i see one i marvel at its engineering and its beauty and of course its value! :)

  • @BRENTHENRY1989 Hey, Brent! These cars are quite rare here...but you can pretty well figure they will be at the Lakeland show, and at Amelia Island (where I've never been)...they are indeed marvels! :) Jack

  • @yooperd I sure appreciate that....I will be sure to film all that I see! Thanks! :) Jack

  • It's more of a tank than a car, but very elegant.

Something to drive to a lawn tennis event.

  • @robertpina99 The scale of these automobiles is overwhelming! Indeed...these cars were a statement of social position and taste in things automotive! It certainly was one upsmanship with owners of Packards and Cadillacs! Thanks, Rober! :) Jack

  • In 74 I was at Bill Harrah's garage and I got my first and only look at some Duesenbergs in real life. They are impressive to see in pictures, but in real life they are truly amazing.

  • @cheddyrod Hey, Chester...I remember seeing a roomful in Vegas at Imperial Palace...I am grateful so many survived. A true testimony to American design!

    Thanks! :) Jack

  • great car

  • @stylishcars30th Thanks! :) Jack

  • Saying "Its a Dusie" has never been more appropriate! Great car Jack:-)

  • @1DRock37167 So true, Daryl! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Wow.. My impression cannot be put into words.... Simply amazing!! I've heard that certain models of the Duesenberg cars were capable of 136 mph! And that was during the 30s! These cars were even more expensive than a comparable Rolls Royce of the time.

  • @Sarcasticscum Hey, Nathan! Indeed..a work of engineering and styling triumph!

Consider what roads could support that kind of speed at the time...maybe a road in the remote West..or an airport runway! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Wow, beautiful car. What car show is this? Is that downtown Lakeland? Duesenbergs and Auburns are the true definition of what a "classic car" is. My favorite is probably the 1933 Boattail Speedster.

  • @dodge09challenger Hey, Brian! That is correct..downtown Lakeland at Lake Mirror...the annual car show. This is one of the best shows around..am always impressed with the rarity and condition of these cars! I will agree on the Boattail Speedster...great design!! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Funny thing is, this car is probably worth more than my house!

  • wicked nice car!

  • @wardawg07 Hey, Warren! It sure is..in fact in the common parlance of the time.."it's a duzie" referred to something that was of great worth...how many cars can say the same thing?! Thanks! :) Jack

  • So good to have you back doing your thing. I am a big fan Jack.

  • @bimjales Hey, Jim! Thanks so much for the nice comment! Good to be back!

    :) Jack

  • now that's a car

  • @Ls3guy It surely is...the engineering on these cars made many assume they were German cars..but indeed they were made right here in the U.S., in Indiana! They had an unassailable reputation for excellence! Thanks! :) Jack

  • What a Duesey!!! Thanks Jack!

  • @therealjimguy Hey, Jim...exactly..the real origin of that expression! They knew what they were doing! Thanks! :) Jack

  • This is a stunning car, Jack, such craftsmanship !

It reminds me of my Grand Father, he had a very rare, very expensive solid glass model of a model J Duesenberg in his living room, that I was never allowed to touch ! :)

  • @drewerz01 Hey, Mike! That connection between cars and people and their memory of them is why I do these videos. Your grandfather obviously had great taste in cars and art...what a wonderful way to remember him! Thanks! :) Jack

  • great video jack and nice rare car, when was this taken?

  • @zanjani13 Hey, Jon! Sure is rare....the top of the line! I took it in Lakeland Florida back several months ago..never got to put it on You Tube! Thanks! :) Jack
