I still love the part where Laranz is so freaked out at his sentence that he picks up his chair and throws it clear across the room almost hitting Martin Sheen who played the hangin' judge. It was something like 2 consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole. Everyone was crying as well as me. I worked with Martiin on West Wing and I truly think he is a great guy but as I told him, "I hate you in Dead Presidents". He just laughed and said how he hears this from time to time.

It was a one shot take as the response from Martin was so right on. He was shocked - got down to the floor in the commotion. They did another take in case the first one had sound problems, etc. But really, it was as much of a surprise to Martin as it was to us viewers and the first take is the one they used.

@connaught2008 - It's a reason for that. There hasn't been a Black movie with so much substance, since Cooley High. Them Hughes brothers out did themselves with this movie. Perfect cast and all. Whites of course.....do all the rating. If Dead Presidents was a White movie, most of the cast would be up for an award. Blacks didn't support this film like we should have, cause all we want to see is comedy and buffoonery. Anything with substance we dislike.
