There is no 'old' Avril or 'new' Avril, there's just Avril.
Seriously, she was 17 when she became famous, and now she's 27. That's 10 years difference. She grew up people, get over it. Everyone grows up eventually; it's a fact of life. It's not preventable.
Her music is still pretty similar to what it was when she was 17, she's just happier now, so she writes happier music. Where is the harm in that?
and one more thing how is there a "new" avril she was the same avril just difrent style of fashin and music nothin much difrent she still got that 17 year old attitude :)

I agree, Avril just grew up. Everyone's style changes as they get older. I mean think about it, How many 26 year olds dress the same way as they did in their teens. People liked her before because she was "punk." Avril never claimed to be punk, she was always just herself, and continues to be herself as she grows up. Honestly I think not being what her fans claim she is or expect her to be is the best way she could show that she is just being herself.

LMAO, i don't get it? people say she hasn't changed shes still avril but yet her music does not feel the same to me?. I was 10 or 11 when complicated came out and i thought she is my idol. I think when you were younger and you were bought up by cruelness and hurt you could listen to these songs all day. Because she had the same feelings. She HAS changed, no one can deny it no matter how hard they try. But at the same time, no one on this planet stays the same throughout their life. I love all her music, but I have to admit that I miss her tomboyish and carefree personality. However no matter what I will love Avril.
