has to be live bate eather like small blue gills bullheads small cat fish or frogs they dont eat anything dead very often best way to get them would be with a bank pole with live bat on it or a throw line with live bate

Bank lines and bluegill is the only way to go for catchin on a hook. Shad died to quick. But hoop nets don't need bait. Just strech 'em out UPSTREAM that's the way cats swim the beach. Otherwise it's nothing but carp.
