a good amount of songs by them are more heavy or thrash than power metal (unfortunately). but this is only my opionion.

btw power metal does not mean to be focused on sweet melodies... the term was originaly used for bands like metal church, which were also pretty thrashy. its a very wide term and not exactly a genre describtion. to me persuader is power metal all the way, but unlike many other power metal bands theyve got balls :D

@Metalwurst666. lets see. you have to take in account bands that (more or less) coined the term "power metal".

Therefore i consider helloween as determining factor. High voice, lots n lots of keyboard passages etc.

But actually its left to anyone to decide which genre a band embodies.

Last but not least i think any band can prefer a certain genre but can still incorporate others to this. so i suppose persuader is a mixture of power metal and thrash elements.

@baloaac have you ever listened to Helloweens first releases Walls Of Jericho and Judas?

when they "invented" power metal they played a very raw, fast and pretty thrashy metal. still its power metal.

the term "power metal" does not emply that it can not contain thrashy elements. therefore persuader is pure power metal to me, even their "thrashy" stuff. its okay that youre not into their very heavy songs, but even this songs are power metal. at least if one wants to label their music.
