You also failed when you said 'noone likes this sort of music' because what people are listening to is the scratching, not so much the beat. Scratching is using a turntable and mixer as a percussive instrument to manipulate sounds. The sounds can be over ANY style of music. Imagination knows no limits.

It's the 05 PRO-Q. In most videos the main mixer, that Q uses is the Vestax 07 PRO (black edition), and PRO ISP. But really... Q have all the models of the Vestax. On some TT TV VHS i even saw the legendary limited gold 05 PRO. All limited editions are very rare and expensive.

It's good to see Q killin on the table still. I bought his DIY dvd a while ago. He breaks down about 20 specific skratching techniques with space to copy. There are also about 5 battles at the end featuring Q in some crazy masks skratching at different difficulty levels. It's easy enough to follow and perfect for anybody seriously interested in the art.

One of the easiest scratches and one of the hardest in the same video. :)

The one where he slides the crossfader(middle slider) back and forth superfast is called "transforming": its easier to use the phono/line switch and flip it back and forth to get the stutter with it you put your hand on the record and flex your forearm which causes it to shake. The hardest one was called the Crab(He invented it AFAIK) you hold your thumb against the fader and snap your other three fingers against it.
