  • I've said it before and I'll say it again: AY CARAMBA!

  • ESTO ES INFAME, PERO ME GUSTA

  • is that Jack Black as Weatherman?

  • Wow, Glorious Gal is a gorgeous gal!!!!!

  • Jim Greenleaf's animated character (Weatherman) looks just like John Candy.

  • I tried to skip through to get to the actual cartoon. every time i stoped it was kids laughing, i think im going to have nightmares now.

  • I'm not sure, but I think my girlfriend and I did a "Dirty Trixie" last night.

  • I need a bowl of some really brightly colored, over sugared cereal right now!

  • ..wish I could have been a kid in that audience.. they don't do shows like this anymore..

  • Wow! What some people will do to get an acting job!

  • Makes Joel Shumachers Batman and Robin look cool!

  • @alivepool no it doesnt stop insulting this lol

  • Whoever wrote the scripts for this show must have had the easiest job in the world. All he had to do was buy a joke book from a second-hand store and copy jokes from it.

  • The live sequences were horrible even as a kid watching them, but they served as a good excuse to see Maylo McCaslin(Trixie)& Becky Perle(Glorious Gal)live.Maylo had some serious nipple bursting out of her suit!

  • @landrykkb Times may change, but hormones are eternal.

  • i want whatever medication those kids are on lol

  • In 1981, kids had no taste in humor.

  • @Marveljew In 2011, some Youtube commenters overly judgemental

  • In 1981. kids were valued more.

  • I am the only that noticed the cartoon is missing?!

  • @Marveljew Read the description

  • These were the sequences that made me suddenly want to do chores. I hated the live action parts of this show as a kid, and they haven't grown on me. Even at 10 I thought they were asinine.

  • Even as a 5 year old, I thought these women were smoking hot. I just didn't get why...

  • Looks like the makers of this show were trying to copy the Krofft Supershow...and failing miserably.

  • Holy crap!!! I haven't seen this since it originally aired back in the day. This is definitely not as good or exciting as I remember it, but it's cool seeing it again. Thanks!

  • the fat actor who played weather also played in a r rated sex comedy known as "joysticks" look it up, it is online to watch

  • I never saw this as a kid and I think I'd be embarrassed to admit it if I had.

  • 4:18..this lot should look for a job in a CLUE factory......jeesh.

  • The girl who played Dirty Trixie became Willie Aames' (aka BibleMan) wife

Jere Fields - (Misty Magic) is the sister of Kim Fields (Tootie from Facts of Life)

  • Was that audience blue-screened in there?

  • They should have brought back The Shazam/Isis Hour in 1981 instead of doing this.

  • This is a Krofft Supershow ripoff, but I love it anyway!! Thanks for the post!!

  • And people say Saturday Morning TV in whatever period this came from was 'much better than the crap on today'

  • So wonderfully corny... LOL!!!!

  • I used to love this show. Absolutely awful.

  • Wow. I was beginning to think it wasn't real.

I remembered it from when I was little.

    And boy... those poor actors.

  • ***** Super cool videos *****

  • This makes Power Rangers look like Hamlet...

  • Sure like the bleach-silver blond with the red outfit!

  • I do remember this show. This came out just before 1980 if I remember.

  • @ScorpioBornIn69 September of 1981 if Wikipedia is correct. :)

  • @dukeofcrydee Although you may sometimes have to wonder about Wikipedia,I can tell you for a fact that`s correct because I distinctly rememebr when Kid Super Power Hour premiered.

  • @landrykkb Telling me "for a fact" based on a 30 year old memory is a hell of a lot more suspect than Wikipedia. Just because you can edit Wikipedia doesn't mean you should take everything it says with a grain of salt. They do a great job of keeping things accurate and the odds that someone is fudging the premiere date of Kids Super Power Hour is pretty slim. Anyway, here's proof. A 1981 ad from NBC. Notice the word "NEW". flickr.com/photos/kerrytoonz/2679482390/in/photostream/

  • @landrykkb Comment removed? I don't think so. If I had to read the stupid thing, it's going up "@dukeofcrydee I remember watching it when it premiered. Were you even born when it was on?By the way, there are those rare instances where they get premiere and finishing dates incorrect on Wikipedia." Yeah, so learn to read. I gave you proof. You may have seen it premiere but it wasn't before 1980 like the other guy posted. Also, learn to use a YouTube profile. Dick

  • @dukeofcrydee Where do you get off calling me or anybody else a dick?I remember watching this when it premiered and where did you read that I said it premiered in 1980?Exactly,you didn't!If anybody has an issue,it's cowards like you who talk tough behind a computer screen.Obviously, you weren't taught to say nothing if you have nothing nice to say at all.You started this argument, not me and remember that.

  • @landrykkb Listen, your 1st & deleted comment are questioning the validity of Wikipedia on this & saying you know cause you remember. I can only take that as you questioning a previous comment of mine where I said it premiered 09/1981 where another guy thought pre-1980. So when I prove via Flickr that it premiered 09/1981, & you come off as stupidly arguing a fact w/ a 30 yr. old memory, then yeah you're a dick. Bit of a douchebag too. And "were you even born then" when I'm 36. Yeah your a dick

  • @ScorpioBornIn69 This came out in September 1982 on NBC Saturday mornings

  • I don't remember the girls on this show being so dishy!

  • also kids remember to follow us to our windowless vans for candy after the show!

  • were the cartoon counterparts dick riding? i saw marlos teats

  • lol.."captain california"...worst fucking name...worst fucking hairstyle..!

  • god... this passed for entertainment?!

  • @Comicjew Well, you have to remember that back then, the networks wanted to give kids shows that were fun but also instilled a moral compass in them. Today's shows seem to focus more on being political.

  • Where's the cartoon?

  • AH memories. Can't believe I watched it :)

  • Isn't that guy Mr. Marvel? You know, the one from DC comics?

What's with the "Shazam" crap? He would only say that when he transformed from his kid form to his super form, right?

  • @Bonbondoodle No, the superhero is Captain Marvel. Shazam is the name of the wizard that gave him and his family super powers whenever they spoke his name. As for the cartoon, if you're creating a kids cartoon in the 80s, what name would "sell" better? Captain Marvel or SHAZAM!!!! ? :)

  • @dukeofcrydee So was this show developed by DC comics then?

  • @Bonbondoodle No idea how much involvement DC Comics had in OK'ing content, but they did not product this. I'm not sure they ever produced their own shows. Hanna-Barbera did Super Friends for instance. This show, which featured animated Shazam! and Hero High cartoons, was produced by Filmation

  • @dukeofcrydee K thanks for clearing that up.

  • @dukeofcrydee

No, actually DC HAS to call CM "Shazam!" to avoid a lawsuit from Marvel Comics, who have a character if the same name.

  • @Comicjew I'll be damned. I was just making an educated guess, but I'm really surprised at the actual truth of the situation. Thanks for the info!

  • @dukeofcrydee : Actually, DC couldn't name anything "Captain Marvel" at that time, Marvel Comics would sue them... the same might still be true...

  • why is that guy polishing his dick at 4:00?

  • Ur right I just checked it in IMDB it's 81 so it was canceled in 82

  • The "f*** it, let's just draw seven frames for each character" style of animation makes it look like each character (especially Captain California) is having a spasm.

Also, just a hunch, but I take it the shows producers had no idea what punk even *is*.

  • this takes me way back!

  • This is soooo bad. Why do kids always like bad T.V.?

  • @Seastone88 I know it's bad by today's standards, but we just ate this shit up back in those days. This was perfect!

  • I had completely forgot this show, but totally remembered it when the cartoon versions started appearing. Loved it, but why oh why...

Love the little Casey Kasem bumper at the end.

  • @KiddJetix: Why would they want to?

  • the guy at 00:41 has the best costume EVAR!!!!!!!!! XDXDXDXDXD

  • I remember this show as a kid, but Idon't recall the live action segments just the animated portion.

  • The animated Rex Ruthless reminds me of Archie's rival Reggie (AKA Eviheart.)

  • Wow, those actors must have been embarassed to perform in such corny shit.

  • I can not belive how corny this show was. The things the 70's did WOW!! I wonder were these actors and actress are now ? Anyone know?

  • @SPEIGHTS78 I was only able to find out about 1 of them, but here it is: Misty Magic was played by Jerelyn Fields, who has been married to Jimmie Walker (JJ on "Good Times")since 1980. She has also appeared in "Friday The 13th: A New Beginning, and "Body Slam", and several of Rick James videos.

  • @SPEIGHTS78 , Maylo McCaslin (Dirty Trixie ) she married Wille Aames ( Tommy Bradford from Eight is Enough) in 1986 but later Seperated from him They still are as far as I know. and she continued acting thru out the yrs. mostly as a guest star on verious TV shows.

  • @SPEIGHTS78 This isn't from the 70's. It's from the early 80's.

  • I haven't seen this show since I was in elementary school! And that was almost 30 years ago!

  • Wow...

i would've loved this, when I was a kid. anything with a cape... now it's anything with a skirt, lol

  • I loved this show when I was 11, my mom always criticized it. Now that I'm older, I can see that she wasn't completely wrong.

  • Although I was only a 9 year old kid at the time, I had a big crush on Maylo and Becky (especially the former).

  • i loved this show

  • where are these guys now????

  • @immortalcelsius if there is any justice in the universe, they're in hell.

  • @aurinkona LOL

  • Damn, Glorious Gal was hot! Thank god I was too young to notice.

  • Thank you! I've been searching for this! Thank you so much.

  • THIS WAS MY FAVORITE CARTOON GROWING UP. IT DEBUT ON NBC BACK IN' '81 CAME ON AFTER THE THE SMURFS ! I HATED THE SMURFS THEY SUCK..

  • Comment removed

  • I can't believe that I use to get out of bed to watch these geeks

  • @chaaaaady73: Me neither-I'd rather just watch the Shazam cartoons instead of these idiots.

  • Jere Fields was in Friday The 13th Part V

  • I wonder what the Teen Titans would think about these guys. ^^°

  • @RokuroCarisu: They'd probably barf up first, the kick the asses of these guys really hard for besmirching the names of superheroes.

  • @RokuroCarisu Robin: always welcomes fellow crimefighters

    Starfire: always welcomes new friends

Raven: would probably get along well with Misty

Cyborg: would be staring at GG with hearts in his eyes

    Beast Boy: total geek-out

  • Cant wait til Family Guy makes fun of this. lol

  • This debut the same year as The Smurfs. Maylo McCaslin was married to Willie Aames (Bibleman). Sadly they divorced. Christopher Hensel's only other "claim to fame", was playing Jeb Stuart Duke on a "Dukes of Hazzard" episode. Jere Fields is Kim Fields ("Facts of Life") older sister. Becky Perle used her looks to appear in "B' /Nude Movies. Captain C's surfbaod was named Wipeout. The only thing missing was Jackson Bostwick or John Davey appearing live as Captain Marvel.

  • @14DaveHunter Actually, by the time this was being broadcast, the most recent actor to play Captain Marvel live was Garrett Craig, who played the part in a pair of 1980 T.V. specials called "Legends of the Superheroes."

  • @MaskedMan66

Yeah, you were right about Garret Craig. I saw that special and enjoyed it. To me, Jackson Bostwick was the best Captain Marvel. But, I'll admit something else. Jackson and I are email pals, so that makes me favor him.

  • @14DaveHunter Kewl. How's he ding these days?

  • @14DaveHunter "Doing," that should have been.

  • Nostalgic.:*)

  • Thanks for posting this! I've been trying to find the cast list for this show since sometime in the eighties. (For some reason I used to have a crush on 'Rex'...)

  • what is 5 q plus 5 q, 10 q, lmao!!!

  • But it was funny. Maylo went on to do Rocky Road. And damn Glorious Gal was hot.

  • Becky Perle gave me wood!

  • you aint never lied...me, too..

  • so is the guy in vizors supposed to be asian?

  • @StopFear Hard to tell without actually seeing his eyes, but the weird thing is, his animated counterpart was black.

  • This is just embarrassing.

  • Man, I've been hoping someone would post this on here, I haven't seen The Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam in years, probably when it first came on. Thanks for posting this.

  • I didn't realize they did a live component. It was all animation when I watched it as a kid. Of course, I watched it for two reasons: I was a pre-teen and I watched for Captain Marvel.

  • how fucking gay can you get! oh my. no wonder you never saw any of these 'actors' again. they were probably typecast as walking TURDS.

  • @ivegotalongdong well Maylo (Trxie) married Wille Aames who was on Eight is Enough TV show.and the Blonde girl Rebecca (Glorious Gal) did some 1980's B-Movie Skin Films.. as for the 3rd girl..not sure what else she did but she is the older sister of Kim Fields from the Facts of Life. As for the guys they dissappeared as far as I know.

  • @ivegotalongdong: The girls were seen again, but only in B-Movies (the blonde was in X-rated porn flicks, the black lady was in one of the Friday The 13th movies, and the brunette married Willie "Bibleman' Ames and was never seen again.)

  • LOL! Dirty Trixie sounds like a porn star name... and this is a kids' show!

  • LOL! I never thought of that. That is too funny!

  • I don't believe this has ever screen in New Zealand.

Just as well, this looks appallingly bad.

  • @bukster1 , true but then it is a kids show and Kids don't care about how something looks when they watched it...they are not worried about it being State of the art. they just want to have fun.

  • @bukster1: And yet people say this is better than cartoons now....insane, isn't it?

  • UGH! Painful!! I only watched this for the cartoons, and I was only 5.

  • captain CA looks like JOe Buck

  • Guess that makes his seasonal sidekicks Troy Aikman & Tim McCarver (LOL).

  • Oh god, I remember watching this as a kid. With stuff like this, it's a wonder any of my generation grew up sane.

  • OK, I thought the stuff they put on Nick, and half of cartoon network was bad. Now I see... there has always been crap on TV. And writers have always been smoking inspiration. If crap like this was good, I could write a masterpiece. lol Better forgotten.

  • I loved watching this show back in the day, especially Becky Perle! That was a way cool out fit she had on. :)

  • great show

  • LMAO...I literally have NOT seen this intro since I was in my last year of middle school in the early 80's. I remember Punk Rock going through his guitar spiel, lol. Gotta love it. Thanks for posting this.

  • the jokes killed the chances of these guys getting any further work as actors, check out imdb for proof.

  • Wow, I remember the theme song but I totally blocked out the live-action bits. Filmation was totally trying to copy the format of the Krofft Supershow/Kaptain Kool & the Kongs with this.

  • I always did love Captain California's tights. *wink* *wink*

  • Wow. Just...wow.

  • This reminds of "The Brady Bunch Variety Show"

That's Casey Kasems (Shaggy) voice on the commercial bumpers

  • Ow.. nostalgia never hurt so bad! Fun, though.

  • OMg.. lol I used to wait all morning for this show when I was a kid. Like i was 10 or something. The song I hated but once th eshow started my imangination would totally take over lol. And the coolest thing I thoguht was the prop of the surf board :) Loved that show! brings back so many awesome memeories of the AWESOME saturday mornings we used to have .

  • Saturday mornings were tight.

  • OMG, i don't even remember them. i just remembered the theme song and looked it up.

  • 0:39 Ride, Becky, Ride!!!!!! XD

  • God, EVERYONE in my first grade class wanted to be Punk Rock back in the day. Fondly remember this show from back in the heyday of Saturday morning TV...before it began to suck in the early 1990s.

  • I soooo wanted Glorious Gal when I was a boy...

Captain California was a douchebag with really bad douche hair even for the 80s...

How many "punk rockers" whore green and purple???

why the hell did anyone make that fat guy Weatherman were orange TIGHTS??? I really didn't need to see his crotch shot at 3:30.

  • How many "punk rockers" whore green and purple?

Most of us. Although, none of us looked like that wanker.

  • I hung out with punk rockers in the 80s...it was mostly black.

And no one wore FOAM for clothing.

  • They ALL look like wankers!

  • Of course the best part of this show was the cartoon with Captain Marvel.

  • I was like 7 years old when this show was on, but I'm pretty sure those chicks in spandex helped get puberty going.

  • Dirty Trixie?

That does not sound very kid-friendly.

  • Maybe this is just Filmation not wanting them to act TOO much like their "Archie" counterparts, but I think the Hero High characters are playing the wrong instruments.

I would've had Rex playing bass guitar, Trixie playing keyboard, Glorious Gal using tambourine, and Weatherman on drums.

  • Was this always supposed to be this gay?

Damn, I kind of remember the Shazam cartoon, but not this.

  • This (along with Gilligan's Planet and Zorro) were the last Filmation shows on Saturday Mornings before moving to syndication.

  • If this didn't kill the Super-Hero genre.... nothing will

  • Hey, Cal WHY SO SERIOUS!

  • This is sad-I now remember watching this when I was small! The theme song rings a bell!

  • This makes me feel so old

  • Me too and i'm only 33years old.The good old days.

  • You're not lying. I was eight when this came out....

  • yes censorship janet cant show her boobies what she wanted to show was her bra the kids wear like maaamy loock at my bottle what dose she have my bottle the parents were furrious janets jugs should be locked up janet said well um technecly its the desighners fault i told him to make a breakable piece so icould show off ma tatas that i ment the hall thing oops justin said simba your back its to dangerous go back to where you came from

  • Comment removed

  • pop culture fact:Maylo Mcasin(dirty trixie) married Willie Aames(charles in charge/eight is enough)!

  • Correct! Dirty Trixie is married to Bibleman!

  • what are like 37 i was in my moms stomauch when they gave this born 1984 i dont believe the sexual references in this show remember when janets boob when out in an award ceremony the parents are like you hore how could you let that happen censorship

  • Say what???

  • @omararias1 If you mean Janet Jackson, that was at a halftime show, and it was scarcely an accident; they claimed it was, but we all know otherwise.

  • Hard to believe this show premired the same year as Blackstar, since both shows are Filmation. But what bothers me most is why all the kids in the audience are wearing the same shirt.

  • Wow. I vaguely remember this show, but I'd completely forgotten how incredibly cheesy it was!

  • It's so funny how you catch on later to gay names & the innuendos.

  • This was my favorite when I was 7 years old. Lol @ "Dirty Trixie". I know a girl with the same name now..... you can get to know her too for $10 bux! Captain Cal is soooooooooooo gay!

  • Holy shit... I completely forgot about this. Wow. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Trixie catapulted me into puberty when I was like friggin' 9 years old.

  • This brings back memories this and Kroft Superstars when it went into syndication. THe drugs you had to take just to watch this. Long live Saturday mornings.
