  • peace full

  • Florida's state song.

  • Sehr schöne Bilder, guter Sound!

  • @VideoClubMuenchen Danke schön! Kyong Lee

  • lol we have to sing this song at our chorus :)

  • Visit here now and then, but I always end up going to Johnny Jake`s version on the fiddle. Try it, you might like it too!

  • Remember when cartoons used that song a lot.

  • Way down upon the Swanee river, far, far away.

There`s where my heart is yearning ever, that`s

    where the ole folks stay

All up and down the whole creation, sadly I roam

Still longing for the ole Plantation

And for the ole folks at home (Chorus)

All the world is sad and dreary, everywhere I roam

O` Darkies how my heart grows weary

Far from the ole folks at home

  • Yes---beautiful but at the same time, sad.

  • Check out Johnny Jakes`s Swanee River on the fiddle---I love it!!!

  • The lyrics I recall in "Swanee River" (Originally SUWANEE) goes WAy down upon the Swanee river, far, far away. That`s where my heart is yearning ever, that`s where the ole folks stay, (that`s 1st paragraph) then comes 2nd) All up and down the whole creation, sadly I roam. Still longing for the ole Plantation, and for the ole folks at home. (comes chorus) All the world is sad and dreary everywhere I roam. O` darkies how my heart grows weary --far from the ole folks at home

  • thans

  • you may have got the lyrics right but you didnt go through the whole song!!!!!!!

  • Great rendition, but the final stanza is:

Oh darkies, how my heart grows weary

Far from the old folks at home

Not the politically correct lyrics in the video.

  • @ranchnman i dont understand why they dont go throught the whole song either

  • Great playing, thanks!

  • hey i want to download this song, but where??

  • Downloading video from YouTube is not supported. But you can add the videos to a playlist or your account favorites.

  • quite good solo, thank you. The official state song of FL., the river is quite nice and peaceful. Makes me proud to be a 6th generation Floridian!

  • Please refer the Wikipedia's Info: 'The Suwannee river is the subject of the Stephen Foster song "Old Folks at Home", in which he calls it the Swanee River. Foster had named the Pedee River of South Carolina in his first lyrics. It was called Swanee River because Foster had misspelled the name....'

  • I think ... you just got served ...

  • How do you play 2 tunes with one instrument?

  • I use Adobe Audition, a multitrack recording software. First record melody. Then play back melody and same time I record second track.

  • O, thanks very much. It's very nice.

  • Lovely, really well performed well done (: Love the tune (:

  • beautiful.

  • Thanks

  • That has to be the most beautiful rendition of this song I have ever heard. I love the photos you choose to go with it as well.

  • Thank you Valerie and Chris for your kind comments.

    Kyong

  • Dear Kyong,

Thanks very much for posting this beautiful song, the sound of the several harmonicas together is very beautiful, they remember me immediately on our Harmonica-Duet "Ode to Joy". Thanks again for making this duet !! The beautiful pictures of Swanee River fits very well to the music.

    Thanks for sharing with us.

    Have a nice Sunday,

Wish you and your family well,

    God bless you all,

    Greetings Chris.
