  • That awkward moment when you're here to watch the video, but you end up pausing it and reading through the argument between fuckyeahEPIC and others.

Can we move on and enjoy the video already?

    :yuno:

  • This may be my favorite YouTube video. Thank you.

  • It is very assumptive of people to automatically attribute this to the whoring of a classic poet.

Whitman would have been the first to whore himself out if it meant reaching a wider audience, so please stop taking such a snobby approach to something that you obviously don't have an educated opinion on, when you're only looking to feel accomplished for rejecting another commercialized product that you think is sapping our moral foundations.

Also, enjoy those rose-colored glasses, fuckyeahEPIC.

  • Awesome satire. Levi's uses the great concepts associated with America for their own financial gain, as do many other similar corporations. Thankfully we have the freedom of speech and satire to strike back. And Charles Bukowski saw everything before it even happened.

  • you guys are assholes the real one is very touching and says alot about life.

  • LOL Fuck Levi's

  • hank would have killed someone had he been alive to see this...

  • Well, I thought it was funny....

  • The poem is dinosauria we btw, go look it up. Its good.

  • brilliant

  • Omfg lol

  • That's fucking weird o_O

  • This is way too gay for me !!! Not that I have anything aginst it !!

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT AND WHY IN THE FUCKING HEAVENS DID ANYBODY GOT HANK'S POETRY ON THIS FUTILE SICK PARODY????

  • @fernandobocadillos the same reason levi corp used a walt whitman poem to promote jeans. it's irony, get it.

  • "Where do we get off" Genius!!

  • Toasted.

  • A great response to the horrific travesty perpetrated by Levi's! Hahahaha! Now I feel better

  • Excellent.

  • lol please make a parody of the new legacy commercial

  • i still like the original but of course it needed a parody for all the hipsters too cool to like something thats so commercial and viewed.

  • This is a brilliant satire. The original Walt Whitman poem is an ideal of youthfulness, and this satire is the sad reality of pretentious, affluent, self-indulgent, self-appeasing, contemporary youth. Even the youths of the 90s were about something more than the youths of today. What are today's youth about - superficial fame, cheap amusement, desperate nostalgia, marketable personality, fabricated drama, whoring talent? The youth of today sold their souls, and they get paid by folks like Levis.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Fuck yeah your comment is EPIC!

  • @fuckyeahEPIC speak for youself, i haven't sold my soul.

  • @SDJrekoff yeah, because no one would buy it

  • @fuckyeahEPIC well, i don't know, alot of cool stuff in there.... you never know... the devil asked me once, i refused the offer, didn't seem fair enough to me....

  • @fuckyeahEPIC The youth of the 90's is the people who made those levi commercials. Commercials made by middle aged people doesn't represent the youth. Dont mistake our apathy for the values of previous generations. Previous generations sold their souls a long time ago. Youve saddled my generation with out of control corporations who are allowed to buy politicians, an unsustainable energy system, environmental pollution and literally sold the economy to china.

  • @senorshorty16 Wow, you can't do math. Generation X/Y haven't even transitioned into positions of power yet. Do you really think Levis and other corporations are run by 20-30 year olds? Hell, the babyboomers are still alive and kicking. You don't know a thing.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Not to mention your generation has enough religious whack jobs to fill all 7 seas. We haven't failed you, you failed us. Now that people like me in my generation say fuck it we're the ones who sold out. I look at movements like occupy wall street, which is almost exclusively my generation, and it reminds me of how whacked previous generations have let the wealthy, lobbyists, politicians and corporations get. We never sold anything it was all mortgaged long before we were born

  • @senorshorty16 You're really representing your misguided generation well. Generation X/Y aren't responsible for all the things you're complaining about. But don't worry, Generation X/Y will change things so you Millennials can ride our coat tails like usual. We'll always play big brother to you guys. We're the ones organizing OWS, Anonymous, etc. You Millennials are just banging the drums and hanging out.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Wow you cant read well because if you could you would know that generation x is widely believed to last from 1965-1980 and is universally considered to have ended before 1981-82. Anyone born after 1981 is generation y also called millennials. I was born 1986 that makes me generation y or a millennial. Generation X is the generation after the baby boomers, which ended in 65. People born from 65 and on grew up during the reagan years and currently are running corporations.

  • @senorshorty16 Amen I love how you brought facts to show him how is categorically wrong about generation x and y and he just ignores it like he wasn't wrong.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC You're no different than a boomer calling a skateboarder a hooligan or the greatest gen calling boomers dope smoking hippies. I buy Levi's and Ray Bans and I'm tired of hearing previous generations fight about politics and god and because of your generations inability to regulate itself I've grown apathetic towards it all. Keep playing the old man who yells at the kids to get off his lawn or cut their hair because bashing the next generation seems to be the only thing youre good at

  • @senorshorty16 You've made it all too apparent how little you know. All your knowledge is coming from Wikipedia and your girlfriend. That's laughable. Since you're resorting to pathetic, childish name-calling, you've become irrelevant and a waste of time to deal with. Do yourself a favor and educate your tiny brain. You've completely misunderstood everyone I wrote. You need to mentally grow up and stop whining.

  • Aw, you're tired? Poor you. Keep acting like spoiled brat. You don't even know how complex society is. You just live in your self-centered world worrying about yourself. Go put on your Raybans and listen to your iPod. That will make you feel better, silly kid.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Also the people making commercials aren't as old as the ones running the company. I'd wager that most of the creative minds working on that commercial graduated high school or college in the 90s. My girlfriends father, whos like an uncle to me, works at Partners and Napier and their San Francisco office is predominately 30 somethings. You're just a pretentious jackass who doesn't know shit.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC What Walt Whitman poem are you talking about?

I'm guessing that you meant CHARLES BUKOWSKI but then again I can see how the similar spelling threw you off. I know... Bukowski/Whitman, they're just so similar.

Also, thanks for sharing your vast knowledge and insight based on misinformation and erroneous conclusions based on your absolutely ridiculous interpretation of Charles' poem.

    Sheeeesh, kids these days.

  • @Husavikur *Sigh* Inform yourself before you try to act smart. Read the title of this video. It's an "ad parody". This video is a satire on an original Levis ad featuring Walk Whitman's poem. Look it up (Levis Go Forth Ad). You should feel like a moron after reading this. Apparently you don't know what a parody is, which is so common on Youtube. Sheesh, idiots these days.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Einstein, the title says "Bukowski ad parody." What part of that don't you understand? Your point would make sense if the title said 'Whitman ad parody' but it doesn't does it? Sheeesh, kids these days.

  • @Husavikur Is that the whole title? My point makes sense to anyone with a properly functioning brain. It's not a parody of Bukowski. It's a parody of Levi's Go Forth ad using Bukowski. You can't even read and associate adjectives correctly. The description even backs up what I'm saying, and it's obvious how the video copies the original ad. Sheesh, idiots these days.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC You're complaining about the shape of the world and the youth of today under a bukowski poem that starts born like this, into this? How Ironic. You should delete your youtube account the first guy you were arguing with made you look stupid and not once did you counter any of his points, you just insulted him. Now youre arguing with other people and you still dont come out looking any smarter. Turn off your computer and get better at life because as of now youre losing.

  • @ynotyoutoo1 Haha, that's funny. You're response has no content. It's just a failure at trying to insult. It's also funny how you don't get the Bukowski poem. He's complaining too, idiot.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Wow you truly don't even see how ironic it is that basically your complaints about todays youth could be countered by this poem. It's a word for word rebuttal of everything you've been bitching about. T

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Wow you truly don't even understand the poem, do you? This poem could serve as a word for word rebuttal to everything you've been bitching about. As the supermarket bag boy holds a college degree, as the oily fish spits out its oily prey, as the sun is masked, we are born like this, into this. This generation isn't responsible for the economic woes or environmental wrongs.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC The poem even addresses your criticism of todays youth culture. Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes, born into this. Do blame the younger generation who are still kids finding themselves blame your own generation. Face it you never grew up in any golden age, though im sure you think you did youre pathetic the way you have literally insulted four or more people over the internet about a poem you don't even clearly understand.

  • @ynotyoutoo1 I don't see the video making fun of his criticisms. The part about elevating fools into heroes shows a pic of the dumbass Seth Rogan. Kardashian would be another example. A "golden" generation has pluses, but also hindrances in terms of being exposed to new things. This video is capitalizing on how this generation tries to be so non-understood, and incomprehensible, that it supposedly places them above the rest. They are kidding themselves.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Tell you what I'm going to do what the 3 guys before me have done and let you have the last word since you clearly find enjoyment from arguing over the internet. It's pathetic the way everyone else just made you look stupid and then you continue to argue with one after another as more and more people take issue with your distorted view of reality along with inability to comprehend a pretty straight forward poem.

  • @ynotyoutoo1 You can bond with 3 idiots as much as you want. Sheep enjoy the herd. You don't affect me one bit because you aren't even capable of an intelligent counter point. I can't even take you seriously. You're just laughable desperate to insult. I clearly defeated other instances of incomprehension, but you're a special case that can't be reasoned with. You're plain stupid. Ha ha! It's cute how you try to rally support. Grow up. Your logic is immature.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC I haven't read your entire argument with ynoyoutoo1, but aren't you being as immature as you're claiming him to be? Your last word was an insult to someone who was walking away from the argument. Is that really mature? You could have just let it go if he is just a kid. Also, I can't tell what generation you're from. You sure dislike Gen Y, but you show some of the traits you're accusing its members of having.& If you're a GenXer, aren't you at fault for our behavior?

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Disgustingly over generalized comment. Maybe you're referring to the youths that are caught between all the bullshit the mainstream media pushes to them. That's not nearly all of the youth.

  • @cKunke2 Of course it's not everyone. Don't take it personally. Not everyone in the 70s were hippies, but they were the major youth identity of the time. I am talking about today's mainstream youth culture, and it is a generalization. It may change. I hope so. But as it stands, the youths of today lack an original flavor previous generations had. Maybe today's youth shouldn't let their culture be dictated by mainstream media if that's the case. That's what's lacking: a counter-culture statement.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC no, the youth of today wants beyond the physical, beyond the metaphysical, the subjective, the obsolete, the relevant, the creative, everything before and beyond our inheritance. we have begun to question why god did not give us these things, we are seeking answers.

  • @BENISALAMAN I agree with your description of today's youth. Yet, are you saying other older generations are envious of their mindset? If so, I think that's all BS, simply because it seems that every new generation desperately wants to be "beyond". The following generation in 15 years will do the same, etc. Nothing is new under the sun. We're all going in circles. I don't think they're "beyond" anything in reality. They just give the appearance of it by acting/looking "different".

  • @fuckyeahEPIC beautifully stated. I agree a thousand times. I've been trying to put my finger on how to describe this generation, but that takes care of it for me. Thanks. It seems like the generation today is so self-absorbed with their aesthetic style. They are a cluster fu#@ of the styles of the last 40 years, nothing new, yet don't realize it. The music is that way too today - though I like a lot of it. They want to badly to be new, yet are not at all.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC *cough cough stereotyping* some not all.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC not a Whitman poem

  • @fuckyeahEPIC you have no right. to say shit like this, it is discusting that you can even thing this way. The choice a person makes of wheather or not to express themselves is their's alone. This is a age in which people are becoming more aware of themselves as a whole. It is a truely amazing thing, to see, people know that they want some thing different that goes against the norm. Being different is what makes people as a whole amazing,.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC The differences is what will make us reach a united front. Cause of the differences. So, go on run you little un educated mouth, tell me I am wrong for loving heavy metal and the orchistra. I will leave the supperfical labels and conformism to you, and delight in the new world of acceptance and light.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC Though it is a wonderful satire, I think it's a stretch to say we sold our souls. No, we were taught this was all their was. Consumer bullshit. Our parents plopped us in front of televisions while they were busy building their careers. But some of us learned and are still learning. So no, as a youth of today, we didn't sell out souls. You did for us. We were the victims, and you are to blame for our self-indulgence.

By the way, it's ironic the 2011 Levi's ad used a Bukowski poem.

  • @fuckyeahEPIC couldn't have put it better (:

  • funny as hell

  • lol. great, quality parody.

  • This needed to be done, thank you to whoever made this.

  • this is so much better than the original , !

  • This is deeper than the actual commercial.

  • HAHA! This is basically what I thought when I watched the actual commercial- thank you to the creator of this vid for reading my mind!!!

  • i was on such a serious mental thinking while going through the actual other real levis commercials and then i click this and just started cracking up hahahha. good fucking job lol mad funny

  • LAMO that was classic! Every second was gold!

  • omg i clicked on this because i tot the thumbnail had a topless chick -_-

  • @fraudster111 If you want porn, look up porn. Mkay?

  • @fraudster111 Oh, okay.... Well, good luck! :D

  • @fraudster111 That may have been a topless dude. When was the last time you had your eyes checked and/or your ticket punched?

  • That's the voice of wizard people, dear reader! Legit.

  • lol, thank you.

  • well done :{D

  • Thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • i fucking love it, just when i thought all hope for humanity was lost by reading the comments of the levis ads about how "life changing" and "provocative it was". i stumble upon this!!!! BRILLIANT!

  • FUCK. YES.

    Make more.

    Be serious.

We need people to shit on Levi's and all the others who want to sell me my own generations broken ambitions.

  • Yes!!

  • Very well done! Takes away the aftertaste of the original.

  • Looks like a zombie movie.

  • this is genius..dude...if these guys were being serious..it would've been better than the original commercial.

  • You know what's ironic is that they did use a Bukowski poem for their next one. For realsies, yo. Check out "Levi's Go Forth 2011"

That is Bukowski. How funny. More than a year later. Maybe the Levis marketing people are trying to stick it to these commedians =)

  • @orosenberg That's exactly what I was thinking. I much prefer this one.

  • No. It's the best.

  • I think this is one of the top three shorts the ucbmidnightshow has done.

  • What song is this?

  • @ousooners5193 "Dinosauria, We" poem by Charles Bukowski (from the description)

  • @trinitypaintballa the SONG. Not the poem.

  • If this is a serious parody... I gotta say whoever came up with it is quite a little bitch.

  • lol at 0:23 seth rogan is pussybutt XD

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, that poem is scary and prophetic.

  • awesome!!!

    great text and hilarious remake

    great job (y)

  • hahaha nice one..

  • Dang, all you guys have girl tits

  • Pussybutt was actually a pretty good movie.

  • I live in Pittsburgh and work in Braddock. Levis has come in and used only Braddock residents and has donated well over a million dollars to projects throughout the area. Regardless of what you feel about their company this ad and this money is doing a lot of real good to better people's lives on the ground. I guess you have to know what this area means to Pittsburgh and the people to understand why its nice that SOMEONE shows an interest.

  • Whoever degrades another degrades me,

And whatever is done or said returns at last to me.

  • This is mother freaking brilliant. I can't believe how perfectly spot on shot for shot this parody is, especially picking up on the homoerotica. I love you guys sooooo much for this.

  • This is freaking amazing! Wow!

  • LMAO!! love it!!

  • HOLY SHIT!! its josh fadem

  • even as a parody- this is really well written, well filmed, and well put together
