The New Man is a form of Neanderthal. It is funny that the elite now change society with each generation and the public merely adapts to new forms of behaviour like you would an animal, no matter how irrational, inhuman, immoral, base, guttural, or sordid.
Those in a post-industrial society are merely "Useless Eaters" now, who have exhausted their use and are just another form of ferral beast to be culled and herded. They are now green agrarian. The history of the Green Revolution, would follow that of the Red (Communist) and Blue, as the color Green is Freemasonic and emblamatic of the Grand Lodge of Scotland.
Dr. Benjamin Barber was a professor at the University of Maryland when I was a Freshmen in Fall 2001 and appeared before my class in Behavioral and Social Science to discuss his book which we were reading at the time named "Bowling Alone." I am very familiar with this man. He also delivered a lecture on Democratizing Globalism. Thank you.
we're studying jihad vs. McWorld in my AP Comparative Politics class & my teacher told us today that Barber would make the perfect prom date...if only he was 19!
The legitimacy of the market system *fundamentally* depends on its consumer sovereignty. Barber is right on, in exposing how it's become a "push" model due to advertising. He needs to take off the blinders, as so many industries are de facto oligopolies or monopolies --and government ends up protecting them --in industry after industry.
His point is that government is NOT protecting them, but rather, they are being bought - and no one can accept a bribe that is not being offered in the first place. Therefore the fault lies within the market. That's THE SOURCE of the corruption in Washington. In England, before the revolution, the oligarchy wrote and controlled the laws on trade/commerce - democracy in America (among other things) was simply a natural reaction to this abuse of power.
To continue what I was saying, it's similar to Unions that spring up, as the collective voice of workers, when their individual voices are not being heard/minded by their employers.
Unions, either workers unions or even our government in the beginning, spring up organically under certain conditions (namely abuse of power of the few). Majority Rules (Proletariat), Minority Rights (Oligarchy).
