I have just spent my valentines weekend up the Braes of Balqhidder and i can see why the very lovely and talented Robert Tannahill fae Paisley toon was inspired - beautiful x
@Fitheach1 I really enjoyed this version but the Tannahill Weavers version is something. I believe it is Les Wilson who sings this particular number. He does the lead on very few of their songs but I was told by a member's wife that is is the one responsible for scripting the very tight harmony that the TW's do so well. Their version of Braes is on the CD "Capernaum," as well as a couple of others. When I heard Les sing it in concert, I had chills all over.
If that's really a photo of the Balquhidder glen, that'll be Loch Lubnaig, and the land towards us and to the left would be part of a sheep farm owned in the early 80's by the family of a friend of mine.
It is Balquhidder glen, but it's from the west looking east. The nearest loch is Loch Doine, with Loch Voil in the background, Loch Lubnaig is round the corner turning south. It's past Strathyre heading down towards Callander.
Lovely version of a great song. Thanks for posting it.

Yes, from the west looking east - and you're right, it's Loch Voil & Loch Doine. Thanks for correcting me.

I have add a consideration i forgot, this song is sang by Kells, an argentinan band, all credits to them.
Quiero aclarar, esta cancion es tocada por Kells una banda argentina de musica celta.
