fryrender is an unbiased renderer so it gives accurate lighting emission. V-ray simulates it but I wouldn't say it is worse than fryrender. You should see some professional renders made with V-ray. And V-ray has some priceless feature - dizzying speed.
You have the wrong idea, it is an ActiveShade plugin. It is for interactive tuning of materials and lights. It is not for final render - for that you would use the full VRay.
yeah i'm thinking of modo 402 instead of 401 because 402 for sure is more stable to be in the future and will add more features but 401 is still amazing and still fine tuning to compete to others...But vue 7.5 is so promising , I'm thinking that when the time it reaches to 8 ...whooh, that will be super realistic nature but vue is not only limited to landscaping it is also good for other things like special effects and architecture
Thanks for your comments. It is a bit like IPR in Maya which was also in its predecessor TDI back around 1990. But, this is path tracing - real time GI rendering so that is something new as a commercial product. It ships June 1 and is available for presale from trinity3d (dot) com.
i really wanted to look at the final render to compare it to hypershot or even the old vray, to Fprime, Vue (way back to old vue it uses realtime renderer already like Carrara in some instance if you know the commands and techniques , it uses a renderer that automatically updates but not as good as final render), linceo vr (another realtime renderer), and i forgot the other one , the plugin in 3ds max and codeblend click vr-visualizer...so what's new? waht is path tracing?
yeah, also modo (just wait for 402 and it will blow anything on its front), e-onsoftware vue, bunkspeed hypershot and some plug-in in 3dsmax (but not that good in quality)...
if you think this is incredible, have a look on MODO 401. Modo has been shipping with this technology for a long time now and the new modo 401 will be a major upgrade in this aspect as well.
Im kind of new to Vray and max... Is that top left window a real time renderer? (what I mean is: is that the final render, its rendering, or just a pass??) Also - Is this rendering window from max, or Vray?
one more thing... I have an 880GTX card and 2GB SLI Ram... Will it run as fast as this?
I think you are referring to the "bucket size" and this is set in the system tab of the render dialog for vray.

@jpl1040
I played a bit with the settings but couldnt get the same rendering way as it is in the video @ 0:56 sec
Thanks for the answer anyways.

How do you set the render window to render in such small frames (pixels). My settings render in big squares. I like your settings!?

Will it work with Lightwave?

do you need a really extreme computer to get this working like the video?

It is very comfortable)

is that the final render? what about its settings?,,,i thought vray quality lost its realism in this new update or it is just set to low?

but ipr produce grainy images...I haven't seen a high resolution final render done in vray RT yet...

LightWave and FPrime were doing this before anyone else.

Basically all renders use only cpu power. I have 2 x Quad-Core Intel Xeon and it renders quite fast :)
MarcinJaroszeiwcz 2 years ago
thanks for the reply - so you have this realtime renderer?
