You're losing it Leigh! Everybody has their own little things that bother them. I'm grossed out by nail polish, I think it's a strange part of somebodys body to decorate. May as well paint your elbows and ears while you're at it, they're parts of the body that really have no reason to be flashy and drawing attention!
@UnityPhreak it feels weird too. You know how my hands are really sensitive? I can feel it on them. I described it to my friend as it feeling like a cat who's been declawed.
People do decorate their ears, Adam...and I've seen elbow piercings too.
Clean hands good, obsessed chemical warfare hands bad. Superbugs resistant to anti biotics etc are now YOUR fault! Stop it with the gels and sprays, too much. Over here we have soap and hand wash but now the anti bacterial sprays are coming in, they are unnecessary, and I blame YOU! :)
@BadAlbert The anti-bac items are for when you're out and don't have access to soap and water or if you're treating patients and there's no sink in the treatment room. They shouldn't be used as a substitution. Plus, if you continually use them you have to wash hands in between d/t it no longer rubbing into your skin; it will eventually ball up and rub off. If you're on a road trip and have to pump gas where the restroom is splattered with mystery bio substance, out comes the hand sanitizer.
It didn't used to bother me much but then again I wasn't sober for many years. I was also sick alot then now I don't purell but anytime anything I can think that has germs on it I wash probably 12 times today.I hate when ppl are feeding their dog or cat and then dig in a bag of chips I won't eat at their home again.
@bearchay889 Better late than never. Oh my gosh, that drives me crazy! It's so gross. Also, when people let their dogs lick their face and say, "the dog's mouth is cleaner than ours!" I was watching IMotD on Animal Planet, and thet set up a night time camera to watch the dogs, and one of the dogs eats its own poo. They had no idea. That's when it dawned on the girl how gross it was to let the dog lick on her face and mouth. Yick!
You must have seen some really dirty hands to develop such a strong opinion. I agree, first thing one should do when coming home hand washing (even when they are not visibly dirty!).
@alienfresh I've been near, have seen, and have had to examine some beyond disgusting hands. I always wash my hands when I come home; they just feel dirty otherwise.
You looked so good in that shirt! That is so your color.
There's nothing more annoying than seeing someone in the bathroom who doesn't wash his hands, and then meeting him minutes later, where you're introduced, and he wants to shake your hands. And it's always the over 40 crowd that does this. How difficult is it to take 10 seconds to wash your hands after you've used a public restroom?!?
@cmleidi Thanks! I love blue *^_^* That is so gross! Or when you see the lack of hand washing followed by that person bringing in food from home to share like cookies, etc. blecch!
I totally get you. I don't feel as strong about it but I DO agree.
Your hands go everywhere where other peoples hands go that...also went everywhere.
There was this doctor that 'invented' washing hands. People thought he was seeing fairies but death-rates went down DRAMATICALLY. And that was just one doctor washing his hands. Imagine if everybody did it..Oh wait they DO that...;^)
Seriously I'd LOVE to see what goes on under dirty nails. It would be like one of those 'drive safe' movies.
That t-shirt is epic, I love the colour and the picture, I want one so much! And I HATE dirty hands! I love having clean hands when they just look...clean. I hate when people sneeze into their hands, then don't wash them, you wouldn't pee all over your hands! I saw a video online of this medical study, they got one person to rinse hands and dry, the other to use soap and dry. Then they put their hands on that jelly stuff in a dish, left it, and the bacteria on no soap was horrid.
@oldgregg93 Thanks. When I saw it, it was calling to me for me to bring it home. Or when people sneeze and then open a door or grab onto a banister. I've done a set of those cultures before. The cleanest spots were the toilets in the ladies' restroom of the school. The prof's small son's hands were the worst followed by the sink.
@BaubleRob Haha, they just irk me so much! There are so many nasty nails around here it's scandalous. I shouldn't be able to smell someone's hands if I'm standing next to them.
I don't blame ya. i alwats wash my hands, after I feed my dog, cooking for my family, and after I'm working. i'm on the same road with Mr. Clean.
