AS an Australian Ex Vet I too have these flash back and PTSD, mostly not making much sence I patrol myt own house alone with a torch , and at the drop of a hat i am on full alert again, some time I am scared to leave the house, I would love to be a hermit, but life must go on , and whilst I am out I eyeball everyone to asses there threat level, shit we have been trained to kill but who untrains us ..... ???????????????????
@WhiteWinter08 thank you so much for what you have done for this country..my fiance is a retired us army ranger and has been deployed to iraq twice..he suffers from terrible ptsd ..when he sleeps he breaks out in terrible sweats and has even screamed out a couple times and i know its a dream about iraq when he starts twitching.when that happens i just start whispering to him that i love him and i'll rub his chest and put his hand on my pregnant belly and he'll calm down but only for a little bit
Hey. Serving in the military is something you will always be proud of. As for being a seal I see no issues with it. And having flashbacks is just your minds way of replaying traumatic events until you accept them and move on.. but it should never stop you from joining the military. He'll people has flashbacks about car crashes.
A tip for you guys changing sheets like crazy; I learned that lieing on highly absorbant bathtowls is a great trick. It greatly reduces the "fucked up in the middle of the night "-feeling when you dont have to get up an change the bed. Aqquire three extra pillows and you might even sleep enough hours pr. night to make it.
A big salute to you all. Stay alive! Your accounts need to be passed on!
And please pass this video on, especially to soldiers.. because after I had my legs shattered by a suicide bomber, and was set on fire, and then was shot in the head, arm, and back, is when the nightmares and flashbacks almost became too much for me to handle... but that's only because I wouldn't talk to anyone about my problems since i felt like I was the only one having them or that people would think i was crazy.. but its actually very common. And the VA will help any soldier, if you let them
Thank you for all the kind words. And the flash backs may be demoralizing or even depressing at times, but they'll never be powerful enough to ever outweigh the good times my brothers and I had
@whitewinter08 God Bless You and THANK YOU for serving our country to keep us safe from terrorist. i am sorry that you went through this terrible nightmare. my uncle is fortunately still alive. he fought in the vietnam war and has agen orange. he has never been right since but he is alive and doing well. again thank you for your sacrifice to our country.
the flashbacks i have during the day never last that long but the ones i have at night sometimes last for what seems to be like hours...now im on some heavily sedating meds and i rarely have flashbacks at all but when i do, they are real bad... thanks for the video...
I cant believe this video only has 2,503 views.it deserves more.I cant imagine how you saw it in your dreams but im pretty sure its worser then the video.this vid gave me the chills.Pretty creepy and scary.Good job!
At the end? during flashbacks... u end up wondering around a real place IE, say, your own house.. and then you start to wake up in different rooms in your house, just to get sucked back into the flashback.. just to jump back to another real place in your house. SO i would partially wake up in different places in my house, and then sometimes end up back in my bed. They're not nightmares, because you are actually wondering around your house as this happens sometimes.

Had a similar thing after my first deployment. Thanks for makin' this.
I'm well over it now, three deployments later.
But I think people should see this. The wounds aren't just on the outside for everyone.
