I actually like how Iris is so quiet. It's hard to hear, but it makes sense given the fact that she's dying.

While I still prefer the Japanese version of this scene, I'm impressed that Lucas made a fandub of this quality, and I would really love to see this in a remake of X4.

They can't. X's voice actor(Mark Gatha) retired from voice acting. He's a doctor now.

Also, almost forgot, nice musical montage. Really adds to the dramaticly - tragic flair. A little hard to hear some of the character's words though, especially Iris.

I absolutley loved how Lucas Gilbertson redubbed Iris's Death Scene. Playing this game as a kid I, don't mock me, was absolutely torn apart about how Zero was, tragically forced to kill his love by his own hands. The first few times I saw that video, despite the horrible voice acting, I almost wanted to cry and, thanks to Lucas Gilbertson's redub, am still moved by it. The worst part of the original dub was Zero's scream at the end. Still, Lucas totally redeemed this moment in my book Thanks L.G

Never had much issue with the voice acting as a kid.

X's face has always looked kind of childish and girly so him sounding like a girl was really no issue for me lol

Zero isn't quite as active in Iris's death as most people think. The game doesn't explain this, but there's a backstory behind that crystal she's using. It's Colonel's memory chip; he and Iris were originally supposed to be the same reploid, but their programs were too contradictory to function properly.

You can actually win that fight without ever attacking Iris. If Zero's in critical condition, she ejects the crystal on her own. She still dies just the same, though.

The newer voice actor for Zero, Lucas Gilbertson, and another voice actress (not sure what she was known for) did a redub of this well known scene.

They just felt like giving the scene justice, much like the JP version was.
