Because Kakashi's new Mangekyō ability is similar to Madara's, I was under the assumption that Tobi was Obito, since everyone in Akatsuki has a habit of not staying dead or returning stronger than ever.
But I am aware that Madara has no connection to Obito (yet).
@Gbuss88 Ok going to point out something Madara has tried to take eyes with powerful doujutsu(Shisui Uchiha's eye from danzo.) So what is to say that Madara didn't take obito's remaining eye from his corpse for someone and put it in his own head?

Since kakashi lost his left eye, obito had rin transplant his left eye to kakashi, and since kakashi doesn't have an eye anymore, the sharingan itself is kakashi's permanent left eye. But since kakashi still has his right eye, the sharingan wouldn't be active permanently, kakashi would be able to activate and deactivate it at will.

@mark30036 tobi is not obito to is madara, and the only way a person can gain them magekyo sharingan is by killing your best friend so wile we waited for shipendue (spelling xP) kakashi killed his best friend to obtain the magekyo sharingan.

@Temuldjin Actually, I think it has more to do with the overwhelming feeling of sadness. Itachi gained his by killing Shisui, a man who was like an older brother to him. I assume he killed him first before the Uchiha massacre because Shisui confronted him after somehow finding out about it (though this wasn't ever said, merely a speculation). Or perhaps Madara told Itachi about it. Itachi didn't want to do it, but he had to for the village. Sauske got it when he found out the truth of Itachi.
@Meidoification Furthermore, before the Timeskipm Kakashi talked to some Anbu woman. It seemed like he knew her well. I think that it was Rin, his other teammate. After the timeskip, he was visiting Rin's grave. So I think that Rin died, he found her body, and was overcome with grief and therefore gained the Mangekyo Sharingain.

The team was the first and only team Kakashi ever liked because they know how to use teamwork. So maybe the grief of his team being split apart caused him to obtain the mangekyo, which was not obtained by murder (Itachi killing Shisui and Sasuke killing Itachi) it does not damage his sight. uchiha madara maybe obito this is just a theory and not worth arguing about my theory is tobi or madara can manipulate space and time when tobi/madara teleports himself or others the mask sucks the person in creating a black hole or some sort same thing happend when kakashi used his attack on diedara. also madara somehow cannot be physically attacked straight away he always uses that jutsu where you cant touch him.

Totally agree with adrian4654, the jap voices are miles better than the english. It feels like they dumbed the english one down a bit to appeal to younger kids.

Well, it's kinda wierd b/c the will of fire can be in anyone and the sage's body is supposed to be the Senju clan and the powers the Uchiha. Naruto is from the namikaze clan so its kinda wierd. Though it's possible i think it should be something more than just the will of fire
The older son inherited the sage's eyes which was his chakra and spritiual energy and the beliefe that power was the key to peace (Uchiha)
and the younger son inherited the sage's body which was the powerful will and physical energy who believed in love (Senju) which are also distantly related to the Uzumaki clan
I know if you put it into words, it sounds like absolutely nothing compared to the sharingan, but then again Hashirama proved that the will of fire can beat the sharingan

I think you don't necessarily have to kill your best friend ... you have to cut a very close bond with force, so that you go against your own emotions.
With Kakashi it's slightly different... he didn't cut that bond himself but it was cut nonetheless. He still feels guilty for Obito's and for Rin's death. Maybe out of this feeling of being guilty that those bonds were destroyed, and then the thing with Sasuke and everything ... maybe he could awaken the MS with that. Just a hypothesis :)
@RyoukaHatake It's pretty much what you said. Sasuke never killed his closest friend (which was Naruto) He awakened his after realising Itachi wanted to help Sasuke the whole time. Feeling sad about his brothers death, He awakened it just as Itachi wanted. This was so could stand a chance against Madara.

@AntonUralskiy I think the actual requirement is to loose the closest person to you. Because Sas. got his when Itachi killed Orochimaru not when he did.

Madara never mentioned the fact that while the council was for annihilating the Uchiha, the third hokage was openly against that idea. And the most important, that Madara himself was behind the plot But still, Sasuke's realization that his brother was framed made Itachi the most precious to him.

Madara was plotting wars at the time not the annihilation of the clan but he did also say that he wanted revenge and was more than happy to help Itachi in his killing. and yes that is how madara explained it.
Like captain78745, the rinnengan is very different, the user of this kekegenkai makes him or her very God-like in a sense. Pein didn't exactly adopt the rinnegan, pein's real name is Kahuki or something like that and oyu know you got like 7 or 8 pein bodies, he's not exactly the one controlling it, Nagato is and this is the childhood friend your talking about and the true owner of the rinnegan, if you watch naruto shippuden episode, sorry forgot what episode... sumwer around 130-140 i think.

I think they can actually..Madara, which perfected the art of Sharingan, used space-time jutsu as a basic jutsu. I think Sharingan has this potentiel but since Kakashi isn't a member of Uchiha and has only one sharigan, he can only use this extent of Mangekyou Sharingan. The manga itself state that to obtain such power as Susanoo, you have to activate both eyes, which is impossible 4 kakashi since he's only possessed one. So to answer your question, yes they should be able to do this too.
In conclusion Kakashi should've been bourn Uchiha, lol, I mean we can all agree for having a sharingan that doesn't belong to him he is pretty gifted at using it. Better than Danzo you think?

uchiha madara maybe obito this is just a theory and not worth arguing about my theory is tobi or madara can manipulate space and time when tobi/madara teleports himself or others the mask sucks the person in creating a black hole or some sort same thing happend when kakashi used his attack on diedara. also madara somehow cannot be physically attacked straight away he always uses that jutsu where you cant touch him.

in the beginning the sage of the six paths had 2 sons
when the time came for the sage to die,the power was split between the two brothers.
one brother got the sage eyes(Sharingan)
the other got the sages body(Unknown)

Well, it's kinda wierd b/c the will of fire can be in anyone and the sage's body is supposed to be the Senju clan and the powers the Uchiha. Naruto is from the namikaze clan so its kinda wierd. Though it's possible i think it should be something more than just the will of fire

The older son inherited the sage's eyes which was his chakra and spritiual energy and the beliefe that power was the key to peace (Uchiha)
and the younger son inherited the sage's body which was the powerful will and physical energy who believed in love (Senju) which are also distantly related to the Uzumaki clan

I think you don't necessarily have to kill your best friend ... you have to cut a very close bond with force, so that you go against your own emotions.
With Kakashi it's slightly different... he didn't cut that bond himself but it was cut nonetheless. He still feels guilty for Obito's and for Rin's death. Maybe out of this feeling of being guilty that those bonds were destroyed, and then the thing with Sasuke and everything ... maybe he could awaken the MS with that. Just a hypothesis :)

Madara never mentioned the fact that while the council was for annihilating the Uchiha, the third hokage was openly against that idea. And the most important, that Madara himself was behind the plot But still, Sasuke's realization that his brother was framed made Itachi the most precious to him.
Besides that, did you say that Sasuke got MS because Orochimaru was sealed away by Itachi, not because Itachi died?

@AntonUralskiy well of course it was only a half truth Madara is the bad guy. Madara did mention that the 3rd did everything in his power to make peace and stop conflict. Madara was plotting wars at the time not the annihilation of the clan but he did also say that he wanted revenge and was more than happy to help Itachi in his killing. and yes that is how madara explained it.

Pein didn't exactly adopt the rinnegan, pein's real name is Kahuki or something like that and oyu know you got like 7 or 8 pein bodies, he's not exactly the one controlling it, Nagato is and this is the childhood friend your talking about and the true owner of the rinnegan, if you watch naruto shippuden episode, sorry forgot what episode... sumwer around 130-140 i think.

I think they can actually..Madara, which perfected the art of Sharingan, used space-time jutsu as a basic jutsu. I think Sharingan has this potentiel but since Kakashi isn't a member of Uchiha and has only one sharigan, he can only use this extent of Mangekyou Sharingan. The manga itself state that to obtain such power as Susanoo, you have to activate both eyes, which is impossible 4 kakashi since he's only possessed one. So to answer your question, yes they should be able to do this too.

He stole it because he went blind due to overuse of his Sharingan, the same symptoms are evident already in Itachi when Kisame told him not to use it to much. Kakashi is bedridden for two weeks because of his short usage. And honestly, would you give your eyes to your crazy murderous brother?
