No they are not twin cam. Just because its DOHC doesnt mean that its twin. Yes Dual Over Head Cam, but there are two sets of banks on the blocks. Left & right. So each engine has 4 cams.
This truly comes down too a personal choice i love my camaro cause it was my first car and the v6 beats around 70% of cars out there and im sure genesis can be said for the same or close too it, i love the feel, driving, and the style of my car i have a lt non rs package and man its sexy, i might switch for a ZL1 in 2012 or just upgrade this 1 but otherwise i got this car for 20k at 8k miles on it used and i am pretty damn happy with the car i owe. American muscle makes head turn not korean cars

I like the gensis .. Already has a good aftermarket following.. in both 4cylinder and the v6.. I dont know how strong the 4cylinder block is but it seems the v6 needs to beef up bottom end to handle over 450wHP..

I wish Chevy had gone a different direction with the overall styling. Powertrains and suspensions aside, this is the first generation of the Camaro that I don't like. You can't just slap together simple geometric patterns of cheap plastic and call it an interior. I appreciate old school styling cues, but they should be just that....cues. GM has made them a theme in the new Camaro. The Genesis Coupe is a much more attractive car. After all, who buys a car that they feel is ugly?

After owning a Camaro, I'll never buy another GM product. The doors literally would fall off, lol. Then every time I went to wash my car I would end up washing the interior at the same time... Eventually I had to take it into the deal every 6 months to have them re-bond it, not acceptable.
None of the reviews EVER MENTION the excessively loud noise that this Genesis engine makes. Look at them at the dealer they make an annoying racket. Check out the Genesis forums and read the complaints.

I believe the that the Genesis would take the Camaro in a road race. The firmer ride you get in the Genesis is the price you pay for serious road handling. I just wish GM could have scaled down the size to that of the original 1967 Camaro. The Camaro beats the Genesis primarily in ascetics. The Camaro is a definite head turner. My 68 Camaro was my second love. I usually give up ascetics for performance. In this case it is a tough choice.

@superslugger515 actually, they AREN'T similarly priced. They compared a (relatively) high end Genesis with the racing package against a bare-bones Camaro. The Genesis in that configuration cost about 7 grand more, about the price of a Camaro SS, which would smoke it.
What if this was the other way around and compared a Camaro SS with a base package Genesis that was $7,000 cheaper? It would have been no contest.
They should compare cars that are within 10% of eachothers' cost.

The Genesis that was tested is a higher end model costing 5,000 or so more then the tested Camaro which is the base model if it was pitted agaisnt the closer priced model of the Camaro the Gen would have gotten blow away. the Gen is the best Hyundia has got abd the Camaro is the bottom of the line GM muscle...Bottom line Chevys worst destroys Hyundais best.
I have a few ideas why the Genesis lost. I test drove both the v6 Genesis and v6 Camaro. The Gen 6 speed was notchy, no such problem with the Camaro 6 speed. Interior room (even with the lower roofline) seemed better in the Camaro. As far as a perf difference, I didn't notice any (FYI - Car and Driver just tested a v6 Camaro and got 5.6 0-60 and 14.2 in the 1/4). Interior was better in the Gen, but the exterior styling of the new Camaro easily overshadowed that deficit. I now drive a Camaro LS!

@SauceCaptain I was only using the numbers from the video, not somewhere else which appears to be where you got yours (but didn't leave any sources). The tests in the video showed the Genesis having better brakes (faster 70-0) as well as better numbers on the skidpad (more g's). My comment was simply in response to the test numbers from the video, which seems to contradict your thinking of the Camaro having better braking and skidpad.

Also i dont know if you've been in a car with a telescopic steering wheel but it does make a differance makes the ride mor comfortable rather then moving the seat up to reach the clutch or moving it back to properly reach the cluch and then straining to reach the steering wheel.
@timorbit Well the Camaro has that x-factor. It draws looks and from the sound of it I think the driving experience was better by the smoother ride.
The cheap interior on the Camaro was to save money so that the DOHC V6 could be put in from the Caddy cars instead of some considerably cheaper OHC motor Cevy already had laying around. While it'd be a big step down from what I've got in my A6 I think that's a decent compromise given it's a friggen Camaro...give it some guts.

For a car thats never been out before vs a car that been around for as long the musle been added to cars i'd say its one heck of ride and cant wait to see improvment on future models.
I really didn't like the interior of the Genesis and it was so small inside. I choose the Camaro SS. If your going to spend the money, you might as well get the best!

I wish Chevy had gone a different direction with the overall styling. Powertrains and suspensions aside, this is the first generation of the Camaro that I don't like. You can't just slap together simple geometric patterns of cheap plastic and call it an interior. I appreciate old school styling cues, but they should be just that....cues. GM has made them a theme in the new Camaro. The Genesis Coupe is a much more attractive car. After all, who buys a car that they feel is ugly?

I believe the that the Genesis would take the Camaro in a road race. The firmer ride you get in the Genesis is the price you pay for serious road handling. I just wish GM could have scaled down the size to that of the original 1967 Camaro. The Camaro beats the Genesis primarily in ascetics. The Camaro is a definite head turner. My 68 Camaro was my second love. I usually give up ascetics for performance. In this case it is a tough choice.

@superslugger515 actually, they AREN'T similarly priced. They compared a (relatively) high end Genesis with the racing package against a bare-bones Camaro. The Genesis in that configuration cost about 7 grand more, about the price of a Camaro SS, which would smoke it.
What if this was the other way around and compared a Camaro SS with a base package Genesis that was $7,000 cheaper? It would have been no contest.
They should compare cars that are within 10% of eachothers' cost.

I have a few ideas why the Genesis lost. I test drove both the v6 Genesis and v6 Camaro. The Gen 6 speed was notchy, no such problem with the Camaro 6 speed. Interior room (even with the lower roofline) seemed better in the Camaro. As far as a perf difference, I didn't notice any (FYI - Car and Driver just tested a v6 Camaro and got 5.6 0-60 and 14.2 in the 1/4). Interior was better in the Gen, but the exterior styling of the new Camaro easily overshadowed that deficit. I now drive a Camaro LS!

The tests in the video showed the Genesis having better brakes (faster 70-0) as well as better numbers on the skidpad (more g's). My comment was simply in response to the test numbers from the video, which seems to contradict your thinking of the Camaro having better braking and skidpad.

@timorbit Well the Camaro has that x-factor. It draws looks and from the sound of it I think the driving experience was better by the smoother ride.
The cheap interior on the Camaro was to save money so that the DOHC V6 could be put in from the Caddy cars instead of some considerably cheaper OHC motor Cevy already had laying around. While it'd be a big step down from what I've got in my A6 I think that's a decent compromise given it's a friggen Camaro...give it some guts.
