...Excellent video! I heard Lanza sing this song via recording almost fifty years ago. What a magnificant voice that thrilled me then when I was a twenty years old young man.  It is no wonder that many are still thrilled by this tremendous voice.

This is a wonderful video compilation. You make me want to hop a plane to India so I can take a boat down the Ganges, walk the plains, and hike the mountains.

It has been a long time since I've heard other lyrics for Song Of India. To the best of my memory, no other lyrics speak of the beauty and diversity of India as well as these by Mr. Mercer.

The lyrics posted here, are surely the most famous and were written by Johnny Mercer in 1953

You have just been introduced to one of the greatest recordings of all time.

The tune itself is from the opera 'Sadko', Which was completed by Rimsky-Korsakov in 1896

The lyrics are by Johnny Mercer and were published in 1953. Among Mercer's best known works are Autumn Leaves, That Old Black Magic, Moon River, Days Of wine And Roses, Fools Rush In... and the list goes on and on.
