  • From who do you recieve de fishes?

  • Why cant plants survive in your tank?

  • do you use R.O water?

  • @JACOBiiTE

No. I use tap water without treatment. Constant slow drip method of water changing.

  • Instead of tetras why not frozen food?

    1000 liters... that's big!!!

  • @musicgu7

Oh, the tetras are just for the occasional snack. They are still fed frozen bloodworms, flakes and dried krill everyday as their main meal.

  • Thanks! 5% change... what size is the tank? Also, the small fish... (look like neon tetras and guppies), are they for food or decoration? And finally, wont putting in some rocks or plants etc put some barriers between the fighting fish/give the bullied fish places to hide?

  • @musicgu7

My tank is 6'x2.5'x2.5' with a sump. Estimate total water volume to be about 1000 litres. The small fish are meant as food for the altums. Currently all have been depleted for some time already. My source of cheap tetras closed shop and it's become much more expensive to feed tetras to the altums! No plants can survive in my tank, even nanas! No sharp things in the tank as they sometimes dash, and I want all the space there is for them.

  • How often do you do water changes and what percentage of water change?

  • @musicgu7

I'm running a constant drip water changing system direct from tap. I estimate daily water change is about 5%.

  • Stunning Fish in top condition!...What size are they from top to botton, they look a good size?

  • @chiligum

Thanks! The cone is 10" tall, so that gives a good idea how big the altums are. : )

  • Seem like the Altums, or the other fishes are taking a peck at those brown algae shown at the back panel.

Those close up shots are amazing, they look like a giant! Good job on raising them, they are definately a stunning group. Who needs a TV when you have a tankful of gorgeous looking adult Altum Angels!?!

  • @DiscusKev Thanks! The altums do take a peck at the cone once in a while, but not much. Other than being unsightly, the brown algae doesn't really bother them.
